Misleading listing, property not up to standard
The property was in a great location- a stone’s throw from the pool in a safe quiet area.
The listing describes the property as recently refurbished….. this is misleading. Numerous fixtures and fittings were worn out or broken. To give examples the fridge freezer had rust showing, the shower was broken, the bath and toilet were both damaged, the provided sun beds x 2 and sun umbrella were all broken. Worst of all the sofa which was unpleasant. It was covered by a throw in a unsuccessful effort to disguise that the plastic coating that was disintegrating and shedding. There was a continuous floor dusting of black flakes and debris, disgusting.
Communication with the owner before our trip was great, and he helped us with a couple of initial queries when we arrived concerning the TV and the alarm.
However we quickly started to spot the issue with the condition of things. We reached out early to report some damage and the host thanked us for letting him know but made no offer to fix things. Later in the holiday we summarised the catalogue of issues looking for solutions and was told that these would all be fixed after the summer period (when we had left). There was no offer to provide replacement items (so no sunbeds nor sun umbrella for us). There was no apology that his recently refurbished property was clearly not up to the advertised standard and no offer for compensation. Vrbo customer service despite many communication attempts failed to resolve the issue also.
