The property was even more impressive than expected, we enjoyed walking the dogs and riding bikes around the grounds. The space would make a gorgeous wedding venue and an even better combined family stay. We appreciated the hospitality shown to us!
If you are looking for a peaceful country get away, this is the place. Still close to all the attractions Lake Erie has to offer but out of the hustle and bustle of the city. I couldn't say enough about the property. It is something you would have to see. Several acres to explore, ride bikes, play croquet, have bon fires, the list goes on. The rooms are very quaint and very clean. Dan and Renee are great host. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. A definite five star!! We will be back.
Immaculate grounds. Beautiful landscaping. Wonderful birding. Brown thrashers were doing their two-note mimicry. Cold Creek was like an image from a dream with deep clear water for fishing, manicured paths for walking and stunning vistas to absorb. Yellow-rumped warblers were fly-catching from the banks while the trout jumped from the water to join the feasting.
We drove through a bomb cyclone to get here and it was worth it.
A beautiful spot, we were so happy to find the common space stocked with popcorn and fizzy water that we enjoyed while warming our toes by the gas fireplace. We were cozy as the storm raged on. Coffee by the fire in the morning and a prompt plow by th sport's friendly folk had us on our way happy and refreshed.
Beautiful property, spectacular grounds for exploring and keeping our dog occupied. Dan was on the spot with any questions we had and also provided some very interesting history of the area.
It was beautiful. I really love that there is no TV in room..The smell was breath taken I love beautiful smells...I will be back.Jerome owes me a dance by the fire pit under the stars they were big bright.
We forgot the lighter
We only stayed at this beautiful for one night on our way from Colorado t Maine, but It was so lovely and restful, we wish we could have stayed longer. The property itself is stunning and the stable rooms we clean and comfortable. The "lodge" was stocked with anything you could ever need and has a beautiful fireplace where I expect many a cozy night could be enjoyed. We were traveling with our two dogs, and there were plenty of great walks to be found right on the property. Highly recommend!
We were greeted right away and made so absolutely comfortable. The grounds are immaculate and tucked away down a tree lined driveway. We felt extra spoiled as the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay very special. We were on a moms getaway and WOW they sure made the trip super relaxing. My friend went running each morning around the property and it was extremely safe and quiet. We actually didn't even see another person on site and knew there were others staying there. Cannot say enough good things about how clean and tidy everything was, how personable the hosts were, and how amazing the grounds were. So very thankful for this wonderful VRBO Stay! HIGHLY recommend staying here for your Sandusky or Put-In_Bay adventures.
The Millsite was absolutely gorgeous. The property is immaculate and inviting in every way, with the trout stream s an additional magical touch. Our dog had a great time playing with some children who were staying there. The main lodge was right next to our room which was perfect as my husband, who was able to wake up at 4am and still get coffee and catch up on the news. Can't wait to come back!

Unique property, but it is really a refurbished stable. Super clean, but rooms and beds were tiny. Beds were more like summer camp kid size. It is pet friendly, but pets aren’t allowed in the community section (called a lodge but really just a few rooms). Couldn’t watch TV without leaving dog out.
Great experience! Was just looking for a base to explore Sandusky and the surrounding areas from and it turned out to be a place full of ambience and character. Retro and very very clean. Will stay again with friends so we can take advantage what the grounds have to offer.
