Easy to walk to all of the shops and bars on Main Street. This also made parking easy as even if you had to park down the block, it was a very short walk. It was easy to find, easy to access and very charming for a weekend stay.
We stayed here while attending a music festival in Arcadia, WI. The 2 separate bedrooms were great for our family of 3. Kitchen was perfect for making our quick meals. Alot of space to spread out with the outdoor area and enclosed porch. Within walking distance of many restaurants and Quik Trip for easy to prepare food.
Overall it met our needs. Had issues with door locks and ability to close interior doors. AC had issues but host responded promptly and had it sorted before we returned. As is common with VRBO, total price was way more than advertised with fees and taxes.
We had a very nice time at this 2 bedroom apartment. It’s simple, but clean and comfortable. Do note the stairs in the picture. You do need to go up them to get to the apartment. I’d say that they weren’t as steep as the look in the photo, though. We love Alma so this was perfect for us.
Everything was fine at this place. It is right on the main road. Train is a bit annoying, nothing the property can do. Would be fine for 2 couples. One strange thing is the doors. Front door needs adjustment on regulator/closer to keep from slamming, entry doors are very squeaky and the bathroom door does not close completely. All minor. In any case, still a good place and experience. The Castle rock Museum is worth the stop as well.
This was a lovely apartment situated in the middle of everything, just a short walk away from shops, the dam, and the hiking trail up to Buena Vista Park. We didn't mind the train noise, and there were lots of spaces for adults to hang out in the back sun room and porch after kids went to bed. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you for a great weekend.
Place was really cute for 4 people. We didn't have a river view which was deceiving and no TV(not a big deal) you need to fix squeaky door but we all had a great time!!
My sister and I enjoyed our short stay here. We had more than ample space and enjoyed the back sitting room and outdoor patio/sitting area, very pleasant. The kitchen served our needs very well. The unit was very clean and quaint overall. The only concerns we had was the steps going up to the unit-I have bad knees (not the fault of the owner!), the bathroom door did not close tightly and there really was no warm water...cold shower was not pleasant! The trains passing through did not bother us and we found the sound of the train a pleasant quirk. The outside of the building is not very inviting, but once you get inside, it certainly didn't matter. The town has a few attractions but not enough to spend many days there unless you're fishing and the restaurants were fair. It seems that the town and area could do more to attract tourists, being the area is naturally beautiful!
The property was clean, well maintained and fairly priced. The folks we met in Alma were great. We enjoyed the hotel bar, the Red Ram and the Dam View. Buena Vista Park is a must. Danzinger’s winery was the high point of the trip. The folks there were very helpful and they have a lovely property (and an excellent white “Crescent Moon “). The drive to Larry’s Lookout was beautiful, beat only by the view from Larry’s patio. And they serve the very best and largest Reuben sandwich we have ever had. We are already planning a return trip to this great area.
We enjoyed our stay. It was easy to check in late at night. It was convenient and closed to everything. We had to eat out though because there was no stove and even worse no grill to use outside. We had lighter fluid provided in a cabinet inside but not a grill to be found. I wasn't anticipating eating out and had brought stuff to grill. That was the biggest con. Otherwise we had a great stay..

Nice stay!
The property is as described in the listing - nothing fancy, but it met our needs of boating for a long weekend. Plenty of street parking. You can definitely hear the train, but it didn't seem to bother any of us. Plus we had the AC unit running and ceiling fans on so that probably helped. It was a nice stay and better than having a family of 5 stay in a hotel.

Place to Sleep
Location was great for what we came for. (Eagle watching) Accomidations were disappointing. Many finishing touches incomplete. Large gap between front door & floor, interior doors don't close, snow not cleared from walls & stairs to name a few. It was a place to sleep not a comfortable place to spend a lot of time.
The property was what I expected and needed for a quick weekend getaway from the Twin Cities. Photos are accurate. Property was clean and well maintained. The whole process was easy. Very enjoyable stay.
Our family had a relaxing vacation here. Great location - right on main street and in front of Lock and Dam #4. We enjoyed standing on the overhead pedestrian walkway and watching barges and boats navigate the channel and trains whizzing by under us. Several eating options within walking distance and more within 10 miles or so in Wabasha, MN. Can be noisy at night with several freight trains going by, but the owner thoughtfully provided several sets of disposable ear plugs in every bedroom. Didn't seem to have too many pots and pans for cooking at home, but that didn't bother us because we ate out pretty much every meal.
Nearby activities included Reik's park (few miles north), a pizza farm (some 20 miles), Mississippi National Wildlife refuge for bird watching / hiking / biking and of course renting a boat (if you don't have your own) and boating on lake Pepin and up and down the Mississippi.
Highly recommend for families with little kids. We were with our 6 year old and grandma and our kid enjoyed every activity without getting too bored. Also we didn't miss not having a TV (we were in unit 2, don't know about the other units) for 4 days even one bit. Wifi was strong and reliable.
Fun little place right in the heart of main street! We enjoyed walking to some of the local spots, which are all easily walkable from this location. The train is super loud, but you get used to it. We didn't come to Alma because we are uptight. Overall, a great spot that I would recommend.
The Alma rental was nice and spacious for four people. I especially liked the private patio area. Having a TV, coffee and extra blankets would have made it even better. It is close to trains and the view wasn’t as good as I expected but overall I was very happy with my stay!
