A Peaceful Bucolic Retreat by the Water at the Gateway of Hudson Valley

Let yourself unwind in our secluded, peaceful 22-acre Zen paradise. Stay in a newly remodeled guest house with all new modern amenities and views of your private 2-acre pond and lush landscape from every room.

Sip your coffee by the pond, stroll the surrounding hiking paths, say hello to the blue heron, turkeys or deer that may cross your way, relax and breath in the fresh air.

Even though it may seem far from civilization, it is surprisingly only 60 miles north of NYC, in Hudson Valley.

A Perfect Stay

Our ten-day stay was everything we hoped for -- and more. Our small house was tastefully appointed and in perfect condition. We were surrounded by woods and enjoyed a charming view of a pond out the main windows. Interesting and peaceful walks along quiet roads were easily accessible. The owners of the property, who lived next door, were always available and responded quickly to any questions we had. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Peaceful relaxing home

I loved staying at John’s place. It is exactly as advertised and better! I felt safe and relaxed there. There’s plenty of wildlife outside the window and very close to major roads for an easy commute. I will definitely stay here again.

October Visit

We stayed at John's guest house in early October, just as the leaves were changing. It was gorgeous. John provided five-star service akin to what you'd expect at a nice hotel. The space was clean and well-appointed, and the kitchen had everything we needed for plenty of cooking. There are lots of nice hikes/walks nearby--as well as several good restaurants within 30 minutes--that we enjoyed, all of which were suggested by John, who was happy to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend!

A Great Escape

A beautifully located modern house, overlooking a large pond from both rooms. The owners are really friendly, and were very helpful whenever I had questions.

Lovely lakeside retreat for couple

My partner and I loved staying in this guesthouse - it's perfect for two people and you feel immersed in the surrounding nature thanks to plenty of windows everywhere, all with impeccable screens. The cabin has all modern amenities, and the best compact-sized oven I've seen in a while. John is also a very good host, always communicative and helpful, and insisted we enjoyed the herb garden and fresh peonies that were in season. For stuff to do, I recommend pick-your-own at Fishkill farms (who also sell plenty of farm produce and excellent pies), hike the Appalachian trail, shop a one of the many farmer's markets, and also if you need a good organic grocery store, there is a Whole Foods barely 20mn away in Danbury.

Great secluded spot

We were looking for a quiet spot with a calming view, and this secluded guest house with a large pond surrounded by trees and frequented by wildlife more than fit the bill. And it didn’t hurt that John’s a great host who built an amazing, warm guest house.
