Family vacation

This was our first family vacation with adult children and grandkids. We had such a wonderful time! The property is beautiful and very private. We felt comfortable with the grandkids being out in the open spaces and going from the house to the pool by themselves. In light of Covid, we especially enjoyed having a dedicated time for just our family to use the pool. Manchester is such a lovely town and there were a lot of activities nearby for family fun. Would definitely recommend it to other families.

Lovely quiet getaway

We came to stay at the green mountain house for two weeks for the Vermont summer festival horse show. It was so lovely to come home from the horse show and relax on the back deck with a glass of wine and the view of the mountains! We had a wonderful time.

A perfect getaway!

This home was the perfect Fall getaway. Located just a few minutes drive from the Manchester Main Street, it was easily accessible. With the sprawling lawn out front and the beautiful deck overlooking the mountains, this was a lovely place to connect with nature for a few days. The owners were also extremely kind and welcoming.

Birthday Weekend in Vermont

This home afford us a comfortable place for a family weekend with our 3 children and and grandchildren. It was clean and everything was in good working order. It was well supplied with necessities.....towels, dishes, silverware. The house could use some newer pots and pans. No DVD player in the house which was a minor thing but something to be noted.

Wonderful stay at beautiful home

We stayed at the Green Mountain House for a weekend with family to celebrate my grandmother's life. Everyone was responsive and extremely helpful, and the house itself was the perfect place for us. We had exactly the right amount of space with 11 adults (3 couples and 5 by themselves) and had plenty of extra space when we had a few extra relatives over during the day for dinner and games. The rooms are all spacious and comfortable, and the common areas are extremely relaxing. The views are also spectacular and the grounds are a great place to walk around and enjoy nature. Would definitely recommend and hope we have an occasion to celebrate here again as well.

Green Mountain Getaway 2017

For a special birthday, 8 of us stayed in the Green Mountain house for a long weekend. Just in time for a big snow storm! The staff & Melissa were so responsive and helpful. The property has so many great amenities (cleared the snow off our cars/shoveled and plowed - to mention a few). The main living/kitchen/dining areas were great to relax with a fire, room for all of us at the dining table and a stocked kitchen with all necessities. All rooms were spacious and the house was very clean. Skiing, shopping and restaurants were all close and easily accessible. We ran to Shaw's (supermarket) for a few food items - but everything else was available in the house. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much for a memorable weekend!

Perfect Family Vacation

Our family of 7 adults and 2 young children (1 1/2 and 3 1/2 years) stayed at the Green Mountain House for 5 nights during the 2016 mid-February freeze. The ample warmth inside - both from the heaters and from everyone's good spirits due to the comforts of this home - made this a special 1st time family vacation. The house has a lovely large living room that includes a working fireplace. There is a well-equipped kitchen that allowed easy preparation of meals enjoyed as a family around the large table in the dining room. The arrangement of bedrooms on the 2 floors of the house allowed for the children and their parents to occupy adjacent rooms on the main floor, with everyone else in the bedrooms upstairs. For the skiers among us, including a first time 3 1/2 year-old, the house is wonderfully located just minutes from Bromley and approximately 40 minutes from Stratton. Melissa and her family and staff at the Wilburton Inn deserve special mention for their warmth and attentiveness – be it for lending books and games to the children or for quickly responding to our occasional request. Our time at Green Mountain House was a 5-star family vacation that we all agreed should be repeated!

Green Mountain House

We (party of 10) have stayed at Green Mountain House during the last week of 2015. We all enjoyed and loved this house. The house was a very cozy and full of characters. The host (Melissa) was superb nice and sweet and great friendly/prompt service from the estate. The estate was in the great location with beautiful mountain view and less than 10 mins drive to Manchester Village Outlet.

a lovely place to stay with family and friends

The Levis family is a special one, as is their Wilburtin Inn. We were fortunate to stay at the Green Mt.House, as it was comfortable, very well kept and a a great space. With the large living, dining and kitchen space there was enough room for 4 adults , 3 children and our lab. We had friends in for dinner and the housewas perfect for entertaining. Finally, mattresses are important to us and all the beds were comfy.

repeat customers

We rented the Green Mt House for a second time -- Manchester a good destination for family and friends coming from both Boston and NYC. Since our group size exceeded the house, we also rented two additional rooms on the Wilburton Inn property. We could all comfortably gather to eat and hang out at the Green Mt House -- nice open floor plan. Beds extremely comfortable; Inn staff helpful and attentive. Stratton Mt a half hour away; Manchester's outlets just five minutes away. The Wilburton property offers opportunities for walking, x-country skiing right out the door.

perfect vermont vacation

We loved our vacation at the Green Mountain House @ the Wilburton Inn. We were a group of 9, with five children, so we needed a house offering flexible sleeping arrangements and a good common area to hang out. This house exceeded all of our expectations and allowed us to have an easy, great vacation. The layout is perfect, with an open floor plan and space for all to unwind. The bedrooms are clean and spacious, with all sorts of bedding options. And as others have mentioned, the view from the deck is exceptional! The property's location is perfect - a very short drive to all Manchester has to offer and just a few more minutes to Bromley. We really loved the Wilburton for this reason - it's just perfectly situated for whatever you may be doing on your vacation. We were skiing every day at Bromley and never tired of the drive. We also enjoyed the idea of staying in a private home with access to the inn's facilities. It's a different experience than renting a home and being all by yourself (convenience, safety, maintenance...). And while we didn't attend, the New Year's festivities at the inn looked super fun. To be fair, the décor is a bit dated in some regards, but I think that adds to the charm and the experience. Think 'Mad Men' on vacation and you're there. We will definitely be back!

Great house with gorgeous views!

Came here for MLK weekend for my sister's bachelorette with a total of 12 girls and the Green Mountain House was perfect for our needs! The house was clean and we loved the open concept living room, kitchen, and dining area. The kitchen was also fully stocked so all we had to do was bring the groceries. We were concerned that with 12 girls and the cold temperatures we would run out of hot water, but there was plenty which is definitely something worth mentioning. The only thing I would note is that the house technically sleeps 11 as one of the beds is a crib. We spoke to the front desk and they said our options would be a cot or airbed, but that the couch was probably much more comfortable than those two options so we went with that. Shortly after Ed stopped by and made sure we were all set and brought by extra linens, pillows, toiletries, etc and said he would be more than happy to set up the cot or airbed...turns out the couch is actually super comfortable! The house is an excellent location, just a short 5 min drive to everything. Overall our stay was great and I would definitely recommend this property to others!

a great vacation

We three families had a great vacation in this wonderful house. Marvelous view from the balcony, very convenient location to the downtown and restaurants. The house owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Will visit again. Just a few tips for improvement: we had to get paper towel, dishwash soap and detergent from the front desk during our stay. I hope there are some stock in the house.

Excellent weekend with friends !

We really loved our stay at Melissa’s house!! She was very helpful, pleasant and hospitable host and even greeted us with a welcome present of local organic bread and cookies. The house was very specious with high ceilings and large deck overlooking amazing mountain views of Vermont with an outside barbecue grill. The rooms were large and comfortable and very clean. The house could easily accommodate our group of 9 grownups and the kitchen was well equipped with a large dining table. The house is located on a 28 acre of the Wilburton Inn which includes an outside swimming pool and a tennis court that was a great addition to our weekend. Also, the inn’s grounds are like a big museum of sculptures and magnificent landscape architecture which was very relaxing and tranquil (a great retreat for Newyorkers!!). We would definitely come back again!! Thanks Melissa!!

Mad Men in Manchester

We stayed in Inn Keepers / Hand House with 2 families -- 4 toddlers total. The house worked out great and the 70s House and Garden vibe definitely grew on everyone. The view from the sheltered deck was amazing and the art exhibit house next door was an unexpected bonus. If you like the show Mad Men then you will like this house.

HAND HOUSE - EXCELLENT FOR A FAMILY VACATION

With three infants, 3 - 6 months we had to find a family vacation rental for 6 adults, 3 infants and occasional overnight visitors. The Hand House perfectly fit our needs. The open floor plan of the interior of the home extends seemlessly with outdoor deck space with a magnificent panoramic mountain view. A view which all the bedrooms share. The bonus of this home is the interesting art work, paintings and sculpturs, placed around the interior which is enhanced by the numerous sculpturs located throughout the grounds of the Inn. Albert and his wife Georgette could not have more accomodating in providing my family with the special needs of three infants such as Pack and Plays and cribs. Albert even accommodated my son's request for a marshmallow roast and expanded it into an event for all the families staying at the Inn and the other homes.......What a great evening! On another occasion he even provided us with a guided tour and discussion of his prized artwork. The location of the home with its proximity to the shops, museums and restaurants in Manchester Center and the outdoor activities available in the mountains offers something for all ages interests. A wonderful and memorable vacation, which we plan to repeat.

Great for any occasion

Myself and my fellow groomsmen stayed at the Inn Keeper's house for a weekend for our friend's wedding. It was perfect for us. Very spacious rooms and a TREMENDOUS view from the deck looking out into the mountains. The bedrooms were good size and the beds were comfortable. It was only a mile or so away from our reception and it was perfect. I think the Hand House (as it's called at the Inn) could be perfect place for our group of people or any other group of people looking for an affordable, beautiful, and spacious place to stay. If we're ever back in the area I know all of us who stay would look here first.

Will be back!
