Memories to last all year
Our family had the best vacation week largely due to this incredible house and it’s prime location. We spent many hours looking at the water from the comfort of the deck or window views, and then it was a quick stroll down to the beach, which was located in a less crowded area. The house was very well kept and felt like a true getaway. It is a beautiful and convenient location but away from the hustle of summer tourism. Everyone, a range of ages and preferences, was thrilled with our stay and we would recommend and rent again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Great Beach House Vacation
This house was great for our family group! It was beautifully decorated with a beach theme (of course). It was clean and all appliances worked. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms readily useable. Aside from a couple of burnt out light bulbs, we thoroughly enjoyed the house features and amenities. Many family members talked about repeating this next summer.

Wonderful beach property
We had a wonderful time at this property. Very short walk to the beach. Quiet, family-friendly neighborhood. The home is well-appointed and has plenty of room for all quests. The yard is spacious for lawn games and activities. Beautiful view of the ocean from the large deck. Great location, we enjoyed the town and beach.

Great family Narragansett trip!
We had a great family trip to Narragansett with our group ranging in age from a toddler, and teens to seniors. The home was as presented in the pictures, but the views of the ocean from the deck were better than expected. We left the sliders open so we could hear the waves crashing. Brian was responsive and helpful, quickly answering questions ahead of our arrival. Check-in is at a local realtor not far from the house. Be aware there is limited parking at the realtor. We were given the wrong keys for the property but that was quickly rectified. There are plenty of beach chairs, toys, etc at the house. The beach is a short walk away and the entrance was flat (no dune to climb over). The house is very close to several great restaurants and other activities. We can’t wait to explore more of Narragansett!

This property was nicely maintained. Plenty of room for our larger family. The outdoor areas were well kept including a large deck where we had all of our meals. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. My favorite was the open ceiling outdoor shower after a day at the beach. Overall a great stay.

Great location and layout but house needs some work and maintenance
Location is great and layoit was perfect for our family get away. House was not cleaned well, one of the dining room chairs was broken, bulbs were out in various locations, ceiling fan over table very shaky and noisy, and while downstairs main floor was renovated, upstairs is old and tired. Upstairs bathroom in bad shape with bulbs out, towel racks separated from wall. Looks like no one has been focused on maintaining the house overall. Not sure it was worth what we paid. However, grounds were nice and deck was great. Grill had not been cleaned though. Would not go back to this home despite the great location unless someone gave this home some TLC.

Can’t beat the location/view!
This place was perfect for our group of 11! Large spacious bedrooms, decent sized living area, very large deck for dinners/hanging around. We loved the short walk to the beach daily, and the beach carts at the house helped with packing all of our stuff. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive. The house was not properly cleaned when we arrived but it was immediately addressed. We would absolutely stay here again!!

Slice of paradise in Narragansett
This home is the perfect setting for a relaxing beach vacation. The location can’t be beat. It is in a quiet neighborhood across from the beach. The house is comfortable and clean. We enjoyed using the large backyard for activities as well. The owner is thoughtful and clearly takes pride in this home. We will definitely return!

Great location & deck
This is the second year we stayed at 36 Sakonnet. The highlight of this property is the proximity to the beach and the view from the house and large deck that faces the beach. We appreciate that the house has central air, a large lawn and six bedrooms. Three of those are large and have king size beds. Two other bedrooms are large enough to accommodate a pack & play and the sixth bedroom is small but adequate. One of the three bathrooms has been beautifully renovated. The other two are dated but they're in fine shape and clean. The kitchen is very small for a 6 bedroom house so it always feels crowded and cluttered. There's only a small access point into the kitchen which tends to be a bottleneck although that makes it easier to keep the toddlers out. The common area is lovely due to all the windows and sliders facing the water. Again, it's small for the number of people a 6 br house accommodates. The babies were put to bed early and they woke up early and noise does travel through the house. One other comment is that the lighting in the kitchen & living area could use improvement. We actually brought some of our own lamps & lighting with us this year. Obviously the negatives are outweighed by location, view and size.

Fantastic week at Scarborough Beach!
We enjoyed a wonderful family vacation at this beautiful beachhouse with comfortable sleeping and ample living area for ten adults and one child. We loved the location with large deck and yard for outdoor games while taking in the ocean-view and a very easy and convenient walk to the beach -- not to mention nearby playground and tennis courts. The owner was very responsive and friendly and this home exceeded our expectations with many upgrades which was a nice surprise! We definitely plan to return to this perfect place for our family and look forward to our next vacation in Narragansett! The Conway/Carpenter Crew

A great vacation
Hi Brian, I just wanted to let you know that we all had a wonderful time last week at your beach house. It was agreed by all, that it was one of the best experiences, that we all have had, since going down to Narragansett for a vacation. The house was fantastic and very clean, with a great view of the ocean from the deck and I especially liked hearing the waves hitting the shore, early in the morning and at night from our bedroom. A short walk to the beach was also and big hit, (I love walking the beach at night). I wish, as we all do, that we could rent from you again next year, but most of us have other obligations already set up. I'm hoping that in 2 years that we can rent a week from you again, it 's killing me that I can't find a way to do it next year. Thanks, again for the opportunity, and I hope that there is a week open to us in 2 years. I will contact you in a year from now. Thanks, Steve C>

Great Vacation House!!!
The house is great for kids! Lots of room inside and out! It is a short walk to the beach. (My grandkids 3 ,6 and 8 handled the walk with no problem). There is also a park just a short walk up the street. There are numerous restaurants nearby, but if you prefer to cook in, the kitchen is adequately equipped. It even has a lobster pot for all of us lobster lovers!! The description on Home Away couldn't be more accurate. This was our second year at this address and our fifth year in this area. It's a great vacation area for beach lovers. 36 Sakonnet Blvd is a great vacation home!!

Great view and easy walk to beach!
Great house with a spectacular view! Perfect spot for families with an easy walk to the beach, we loaded up our beach cart everyday and it was less than a 5 min walk to oasis! Description was accurate except there is only 1 TV instead of the 2 listed.....not that you really need them, but it helps at night or if you get a rainy day. Property was clean and seemed to be well maintained. Owner Brian was great and had very good communication. Would definitely recommend to friends or relatives. Local restaurants that are a must, Spain (very good upscale food for a good date night without the kiddies), Iggys clam shack has great chowder and fried clams, Monohan's is another clam shack that is very good. Nana's ice cream and Auntie Carrie's ice cream are good treats! Watch Hill is about 40 mins away and is a nice day trip to shop and explore. Mystic Aquarium is about 50 mins away and is good for a rainy day activity if you have kids and want to get out of house for a while. Very beautiful beach with great waves......we will be coming back every year!

Heaven AGAIN...
This was our second summer vacation at 36 Sakonnet Blvd. and it was even more fantastic than the last! The kitchen has been completely updated; new cabinets, counters, stove, microvwave and refridgerator...all crisp summer white and spotless! This location cannot be beat...the waves are crashing so loud at night it's hard to pull yourself off the wraparound deck to go to bed! We're so close to the private beach that we don't even pack a lunch, we just walk back to the house and then right back to the beach. It is an absolute dream location. Bring fans as the upper level of the house gets very warm and the ceiling fans can only do so much, the bottom gets amazing breezes all day and all night long. I love that the kids stay downstairs and the grownups sleep upstairs. The kids can stay up as late as they want (teenagers) and we don't hear a sound. LOVE this house!!!!!

Probably the Best Location EVER!!!
This house is amazing! Plenty of room, an amazing deck, beautiful yard and the outdoor shower is divine!!! Not one of our party of eight used an indoor shower once the entire week! The neighborhood is beautiful and very family friendly. The walk to the private beach is less than two minutes! The beach is clean and never crowded...restaurants and stores are a very short drive away. There was a constant ocean breeze throughout the house and at night, you can hear the waves crashing!! The landlord responded to my concerns immediately and the realtors were very responsive as well when dealing with a few small issues. We have already rented for next summer!

Best Location EVER!!!
This house was amazing; plenty of room, a fantastic wrap around deck, plenty of storage, and the most delicious outdoor shower ever! There were constant ocean breezes and at night you can hear the waves crashing! The yard is huge and our kids played soccer, football and lawn darts every night, hide n' seek was fun too! The walk to the private beach is less than 2 minutes, and the beach is clean and never crowded. Stores, shopping and anything you need are a short drive away. Lots of fantastic restaurants and seafood!!! Any issues that come up are met with immediate response by the landlord and his realtors. We've already booked it again for next summer!

The cottage was an excellent size for our large family. It was convenient to the beach. My grandchildren and children loved the outdoor shower. It was very clean and well kept. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, and there even was a playgrond for the kids, a short walk away. We all enjoyed it tremendously and are definitely considering renting it again for next summer.

I first discovered Narragansett, and specifically the Eastward Look neighborhood, soon after entering my freshman year of college at URI. I immediately realized the unique charm of the area - just a short walk to an ocean that has such soft, bright sand. After graduating, I vowed to come back - which I did about decade later after buying my first property in Eastward Look.

Over time, I bought and sold a few homes in this neighborhood, but I always held on to 36 Sakonnet as it was by far my favorite. I love the way the house is angled to face the ocean - with a large deck that allows you to get lost in your thoughts while staring at the water and hearing ocean waves. Pure relaxation.

Narragansett offers something for everyone. There are a number of great seafood restaurants as well as the port of Galilee just minutes away where you can hop on a ferry to discover Block Island.

Now that I'm a father of three, I appreciate the area from a parent's perspective. Exploring tidal pools or walking various paths that hug the ocean are a favorite. Bringing my children for ice cream or heading to Adventureland to play mini-golf, hit balls in the batting cage, ride the bumper boats or race go-carts is also a family tradition. You can also charter a fishing boat or head to Block Island for the day. It's all right here.

For those who don't want to stomach Cape traffic, or pay the Vineyard or Nantucket prices, Narragansett is a hidden treasure.....with 36 Sakonnet being it's crown jewel.

Why they chose this property

The house is perfectly angled to enjoy the sites and sounds of the ocean. Just a couple hundred yards from a beautiful (and relatively quiet section of Scarborough Beach called Black Point), it allows you the flexibility to walk back and forth if you need to take a break or replenish your food or drinks.

Large deck gives you plenty of room to sit back and enjoy the sites and sounds of the ocean! Grill and eat as a family outside. The yard is plenty big for games.

I have decorated the home with a nautical theme. Coupled with it's natural shingled exterior, weathered to a Nantucket gray thanks to the spray of the salt water, it looks and feels like the beautiful coastal New England home that it is.
