Loved Diane's suite. Well accomodated, comfortable bed, nice and cool in the hot Nelson summer. Everything you would want or need in a vacation getaway.
Diane's beautiful suite is full of thoughtful additions. She even had dairy and non dairy milk in the fridge in preparation for my arrival. An extremely pleasant place to stay.
Wow, Diane’s place exceeded any and all expectations for our stay. The unit below the main home was perfect for our Nelson getaway. The kitchen is large enough to get groceries and cook for the week, the biggest plus is being able to see Diane’s amazing pottery up close and personal! The small fireplace was perfect to keep the unit warm and to help dry our snowboard clothes. The bed was large, comfortable, and perfect for the end of the day. Bathroom was well equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! Last but not least, don’t forget to view the art walk in the back yard. Overall, we are coming back and only utilizing Diane’s property. Diane has the most warm and inviting presence, and was always available to answer the questions I had. We look forward to coming back soon!
We stayed for a week in the "Uphill" neighbourhood and found the location very convenient to all of the sites of Nelson & area that we wanted to visit. One note - this is not an easily walkable area - the streets are very steep hills!
The suite is nicely appointed and comfortable, and Diane is a responsive and welcoming host!
The Gallery Suite is spacious, beautifully decorated, well stocked, and very comfortable! The location is excellent — convenient to downtown and hiking and cycling trails. Diane is an outstanding host and communications were easy. We enjoyed a tour of her studio and garden. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Diane’s property was absolutely the best place we could’ve imagined for our stay in Nelson. It was beautiful and well-equipped - Diane thought of everything. She even had toys ready for our three-year-old! She was extremely welcoming and we felt right at home in paradise. Will definitely return!
We (spouse and I ) really enjoyed our stay at the Gallery Suite. It is located in a quiet area with very scenic views of the town and Kootenay Lake from the doorway. We found it very clean and well equipped. (Excellent bed and great umbrella also available!) Location for trail walking and riding was excellent. Diane was very friendly and helpful for any Nelson information. We look forward to a future stay.
We enjoyed our visit to Nelson and staying at this property. The home is beautiful and as described in the ad. We were about a 20 minute walk to downtown Nelson and did both walking trips and drives into town. It is located near the Rail Trail, which was a flat walk above town. This suite had everything we needed, including some basic pantry items, and we hope to enjoy the art studio next time we are in town.
We really enjoyed our time in the Gallery Suite. It is perfectly set up for 2 people, well appointed with new kitchen appliances. The local art added character. Diane was communicative, accessible and pleasant to interact with. The air conditioner works well if you go during a heat wave like we did. We appreciated the available bear spray for our walks on the rail trail, however we didn't see any bears. The whole visit to Nelson was very enjoyable.
The suite was gorgeous! Artfully decorated, very spacious and comfortable for our family. Unique touches and lovely artwork. The house was on a quiet street with easy access to walk and hike. There is a front sitting area with lovely views for our morning coffee. The back garden was lovely and the ceramic studio/gallery made this a unique and memorable experience. Diane was a fantastic host who provided tips about local places and events. Extremely clean with a well-appointed kitchen and quality linens. This was one of the nicest spaces we have stayed in.
We loved the suite! It was complete and felt like we were staying in a luxury accommodation. Everything we could need was there along with those special touches - fine soaps, coffee, a dish of candy sweets, a bottle of wine..... We enjoyed the privacy of the suite but also the visits we had with the owner, Diane. The location at the top of the city provided a nice view but was a very short distance to downtown and even closer to the Rail trail which we took advantage of on two of our days in Nelson. We highly recommend this suite and would definitely stay there again! Thanks Diane for your hospitality!
This is an absolute gem of a property in Nelson. The unit was spotless and spacious. The decoration and furnishings are unique and will make you feel as if you are staying at a luxury resort. The lighting was excellent which is something that is often lacking in hotel rooms. Beautiful hand made pottery dishes made by the owner are available for you to use. Little touches like chocolates, coffee and cream in the fridge were unexpected but appreciated. I always hate it when there are not enough hangers in the closet, but there were plenty here. Easy access to the Rail Trail for a nice hike. Diane, the owner was lovely and helpful. I would recommend this property highly and look forward to coming back for a return visit.
Our family of four loved our stay here. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. We had all the amenities we required and the location and character of the suite was perfect for feeling immersed in that Nelson charm. The gas fireplace kept us very comfortable in March. Diane was super responsive and friendly (only a text away) and was quick to come to our rescue with a missing birthday candle! Thanks for a great stay Diane. It was just what we’d hoped for.
Wonderful find in Nelson. Beautifully set up suite. Very clean, well equipped and cozy. Gas fireplaces in both main room and bedroom made for a very comfortable winter stay. Diane our host was welcoming and readily available to answer our questions and give us recommendations. We would love to return one day. Would highly recommend this suite.
Just like Nelson - this place is eclectic - as advertised. Very functional, great bed & bath and a drop dead view from the patio. My daughter & I had a great time and I would recommend this place.
I love Nelson it is such an awesome town for a retreat from the big city. Diane's suite is the icing on the cake - this was by far the most excellent space we have ever rented. The suite is beautiful, spacious and has really great energy - it made us feel even happier than usual. Everything we needed was included; the housewares and furniture were all very luxurious and we felt spoiled. Artistic expression = 10/10. The property is stunning and we were fortunate to eat all meals in the outdoor area and enjoy the flora, birds and exceptional view. Also, I found it comfortably cool in the hot weather. We hope to return again and again. Diane is such a wonderful (and talented) person and went above and beyond to accommodate us and make our stay fabulous.
The property is beautiful, the owner is wonderful and it was comfortably cool despite no AC during a 30+ heatwave. The concrete basement made this a welcome respite from the summer heat.

Property was bright, inviting and very well equipped.
Love this charming spot. Everything is well thought out and comfortable as well as being very unique in all its design and style . Dianne is very friendly and helpful We are coming back.
We had a wonderful time at this one bedroom suite! The suite has been recently renovated top to bottom and had everything we needed to make our stay a success. It is wonderfully decorated with an artist’s touch and has a lovely backyard which the host uses as her pottery studio and to entertain her friends. It is within walking distance of downtown Nelson, just make sure you’re in decent walking shape as the suite is up on a hill. Being up on a hill offers nice views of the lake for morning coffee or evening wine or beer.
We will definitely be back!
Our stay in the Gallery Suite was fabulous! The suite is a work of art in itself. We loved the concept of showcasing art from local artists in the suite. The suite was cool and perfect for sleeping. The king bed was a real treat - extremely comfortable with eco-friendly bedding. The view from the terrace area (overlooking Nelson and Kootenay Lake) was absolutely stunning. The evening sunset hues resembled a scene from a French Riviera painting. It was truly something very special. Diane is a wonderful host, very warm, creative and welcoming. Her attention to detail made our stay that much more enjoyable, from a welcome message to a few small treats. The stay exceeded our expectations. Needless to say, we felt at home! We’d highly recommend a stay in this suite. We’ll be back!
