About this property

Private and secluded log cabin chalet is situated on three picturesque acres overlooking tall pines and forests with heartwarming winter mountain views. The chalet has gorgeous stone countertops in the kitchen. Our home is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean because we take pride in knowing that all our guests will be happy and remember their stay with us. We are located under one mile from Catamount ski area and 20 minutes to Butternut ski area. Biking, fishing, swimming, hiking and horseback riding, golfing and antique auctions are just some of the many activities in the area. Close to several attractions such as Norman Rockwell Museum and Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA, Shaker Museums and many superb restaurants. Bish Bash Falls is minutes away and Great Barrington, MA is within ten minutes for great window shopping. See the breathtaking views from the top of Mt. Washington.

Scenic Surroundings and Nearby Attractions: This
property is conveniently located between routes 22 and 23 in Hillsdale, New York, within one mile of Catamount ski area in NY and within 20 minutes of Butternut ski area in MA. The property is an easy two hour drive from New York City. Great Barrington, Massachusetts, with all its trendy shops and restaurants is only ten minutes away, and Stockbridge, Massachusetts is only a 30 minute drive away; there you can explore Norman Rockwell paintings and various other museums and attractions. Lenox, MA and the shopping outlets in Lee, MA are also 30 minutes away. Jimeny Peak ski area is a 35 minute drive. Take a scenic drive down the Mohawk Trail and visit the shops while taking in breathtaking views of the mountain region, or just take a relaxing walk through the woods and explore the beautiful fall foliage. A True Gem

We loved staying here! One of our favorite things was sitting by the fire pit in the evening listening to the frogs and enjoying the peaceful setting. The house was sparkling clean, comfortable, and well-supplied with all the necessities. Bill provided detailed information and communicated very promptly. We look forward to returning.

Well appointed house in a very sweet, serene setting

Responsive, helpful hosts own this well appointed, very clean home on a quiet road in a lush nature setting. House is a short ride to a handful of stores, restaurants and sights, including other parts of the Hudson Valley & Berkshires area for easy touring. Yet, the surrounding area is blessed with farmland, hills, open fields and forests, so it feels more rural than the Berkshires and if you have entered a very special place back in time. Would rent again if ever in the area.

Wonderful house and guests!!!

Bill and Eileen were truly wonderful guests. As soon as we walked in to their lovely home we felt welcomed and felt right at home. We found a lovely note and a big box of chocolate waiting for us, which can get any trip started off on the right foot. The location is gorgeous and very quiet and private. Bikes were at our disposal to use, and the house as a whole is very clean and well appointed with all the amenities you could possibly need. Bill and Eileen were extremely responsive and easy to reach, and very accommodating. We checked in earlier than the official check in time and they had no problem with it. Thank you both. Highly recommended!!

Repeat Relaxation!

This was our family’s second stay at the chalet. Once again it was neat as a pin and well stocked with anything we may need. We slept comfortably, enjoyed the fire pit, and admired the view. The hosts are gracious and extremely responsive. Thank you!

Winter get-away!

We stayed for a long weekend skiing at Catamount. Only a 3 min drive to the mountain!! The house is perfectly clean and comfortable, just like the pictures show. They kitchen/dining are are perfectly stocked / spacious for our family dinners. We will be back and curious to see the area in the summer! Thanks again!

This property is the perfect home away from home! Just as pictured- clean and has everything you could possibly need to relax and enjoy the serenity of the beautiful mountains with so much to explore in the surrounding countryside and small towns! Beautiful Clean Cabin

This is a beautiful cabin to spend the week in while we explored Western Massachusetts. The space works perfectly for two adults in the master bedroom and their own bathroom (not adjoining, but fairly private) upstairs. There is also a small loft area to sit and read. Downstairs the kids had their own bathroom and shower near their two bedrooms. The dining room had an awesome large table with solid chairs for playing games and eating meals. The living area was small but the 5 of us were able to comfortably watch DVDs every night.The kitchen had plenty of everything we needed and then some. The front deck was great as well, when it wasn't raining. Tips for visitors: We gave up on using the side entrance as it was easier (and cooler) to come in through the basement. The mattresses were more firm than I'm used to so if you like a soft mattress then this might not work for you. The driveway is no problem, but I bottomed out on the road the first time I pulled in and learned to take it slower. But overall it deserves 5 stars, everything was awesome and I would recommend it highly! Bill and Eleen were super easy to work with and very responsive. Cleanup/checkout could not have been more simple! We LOVED it here!

Berkshire Gold Getaway

Wonderful cabin in the woods centrally located to area golf courses. The home was well apportioned and neat as a pin. The owners made us feel welcome as their guests and kept us well informed prior to our arrival. Thank you for a fun getaway.

We stayed here at Thanksgiving and decided to return in May for our daughter’s graduation, an hour away. This place is truly special, and now feels like our home away from home. Country serenity

We spent four nights over Thanksgiving in this charming and immaculate home, and mid-stay we decided to book another six nights in May. Bill is an outstanding host, who responded immediately to each of my pre-visit questions. The house is light and bright, and the kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed and more. We really felt like we were out in the country, because all we could see were trees, yet it was a pleasant and easy drive to visit other places in New York and Massachusetts. I am really looking forward to our next stay in May.

Wonderful classic winter chalet style home

We came to the area for a wedding and the house was perfect. 4 minutes from the wedding location and 7 minutes from the nearest grocery store. The kitchen has everything you need, including champagne glasses which was perfect! Don’t miss out on watching the sunset from the back porch while roasting some marshmallows in the fire pit.

We were a group of four women over 60. It's such a beautiful place and has everything you need plus more. Those of us in our 70's had some trouble with the steps...especially those going up to the cabin.I highly recommend this property.

True gem in the Berkshires

Our stay at Bill and Eileen’s place in Hillsdale was wonderful. The property is clean, comfortable and filled with amenities many which we didn’t have time to take advantage of. It’s close to a number of fabulous hikes, swimming holes and the town of Hillsdale. Should our travels bring us back to the area, we will definitely return! Thanks so much Bill and Eileen!

Fantastic Stay!!

My wife, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and I stayed for 2 nights and we loved the property and location as it was about 20 minutes to pretty much everything (Great Barrington, West Stockbridge, etc). Property was immaculate and very quiet which was exactly what we were looking for. Right by the house we saw multiple deer and wild turkey. Pretty much everything we needed was supplied, and we loved being able to make a fire in the fire pit in the backyard. Bill was very responsive to emails and any questions that we had. It was a little warm in the main living area (there are lots of fans - temps when we were there were in the 90's), but all bedrooms had AC's which worked great so we slept very well. We would certainly come back when we are in the Berkshires!!
