Our friends and family talk about the 'spectacular' sea views. Especially down to Tahunanui Beach and across the Bay to the Takaka mountain range. We regularly walk the 20 minutes to the beach. Central Nelson shops are a six minute drive.
The private deck is a great place for BBQ'g, dining, or just sitting and looking out to the sea. All this from a single access, secluded 50's style townhouse!
Accommodating up to 6 people it's great for a small group, two couples or a family with older children wanting sole use of a casual and relaxing home.
Lounge/Kitchen/Dinning: open plan space with polished wooden floors. All new furniture in the lounge. Very well appointed kitchen with an induction cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and stove. The deck comes off the dinning area.
There's a gas BBQ outside, plenty of pans, platters, cooking utensils and wine glasses inside. Everything you need for great meals.
Just outside of the kitchen there's a spa pool too; great for sunsets and star gazing.
Conservatory: links the lounge to the deck. Helps keep the place cool in the summer, warm in the winter.
Main bedroom: Opens to own private deck. Ensuite with large shower.
Bedroom 2: Two singles or superking, let us know which way you would like it when you book.
Bedroom 3: Two singles. Own entrance.
Bathroom 2: Toilet, shower and separate bath
Family bathroom: shower, bath, toilet and basin
Laundry: separate with washer and drier
We have a garage which can be used to store bikes, kayaks and any other toys you might want to bring along.
For coffee lovers we have a stove top percolator and a plunger with local coffee. There's a range of teas and for hot days a soda water maker.
We're music fans so we have a high quality Naim stereo you can connect to via bluetooth.
Sorry the only TV is 'sky', best viewing time: sunset! Other channels: beach, bay and mountain... That's NO TV sorry, but you'll have access to to all you can eat wifi if you want to download onto your own devices.
The property is up a driveway, at the top there is parking for two cars. There is a lower garage with parking space for another vehicle and/or a boat/trailer.
Tiro Tai is very near the top of Britannia Heights. Being high up on the hill, you are probable best with a car as town, the beach and any trips you take will all be down the hill! Having said that there is a network of walking tracks that weave up and down both sides of the hill. Apart from a great walk, these can take you via various routes to a great kids park along the hill, into town and to the beach.
Tahunaunui Beach and surrounding park is fabulous for families. The beach is mostly very calm and safe. There are go-karts, hydro slides, a small nature reserve, a skating rink, volley ball and petanque courts, and, a couple of places where you can buy that all important kiwi ice cream. On the windy days you'll also find Nelson's windsurfing, kitsurfing and wind foiling community down at the very end section.
Two of our favourite haunts are down the hill on the waterfront side. The BoatShed for higher end meals and the BoatHouse for sunny afternoons on their over water deck, live music and a quiet drink or two. In Nelson itself there is a massive range of restaurants from award winning: Hopgoods (THE local institution), Oyster Bar and Grill (hip with sharing plates) to ethnic, to local brewery bars. We're very happy to share our recommendations on craft bears, local wines, interesting bars, fav restaurants and, most spoilt for choice: where to find the best coffee! A great start is down the hill, across the road from the beach: Raglin Roast.
We really hope you enjoy Tiro Tai as much as we do!
