quiet and clean village spot
Kimi is a great host and I must say that my 5 weeks flew by. I didn't think I'd like being away from the ocean's door step but I actually enjoyed not being in the resort areas right on the Kona coast. The ohana is clean, highly functional and comfortable. Internet access was never an issue and from the back patio/kitchen you have a direct view of the sunsets ... if you're not down by the waterline which is 15 mins away. I have a feeling that I'll be back!

Great location and even better a charming home away from home.....Very quiet and restful. All the needed amenities for our 6 week stay..... an easy drive to all the local beaches, farmers markets with shopping for supplies minutes away. Beautiful sunset view from the back lanai. AND topping it all was our gracious host Kimi!

PEACEFUL
The best word to describe the Bamboo Ohana is peaceful. From the moment we stepped in the door we felt peaceful. We woke to bird songs every morning, beautiful sunsets most nights and lulled to sleep with the sound of the breeze in the bamboo. Anything you might need for a wonderful time was provided. Kimi is a excellent host.

Fantastic spot
We loved staying at Kimi's Ohana in Waikoloa village. We have stayed in a number of locations on the big island including resorts, beachside vacation rentals, vacation rentals in waimea, hawi, volcano, kona, etc. and each has there strengths. The beauty of Waikoloa is that it provides access to the benefits of all the locations on the big island from a central spot. Plus, the village itself is a pretty great place to be with the pool, tennis, pickleball, golf and great places to walk right out the door. Plus Plus, Kimi's place is awesome. Plenty of privacy, very well appointed, great taste in decor, nice outdoor spaces to eat, drink and visit, and best of all, Kimi is a superb host.

Perfection in Waikoloa!
I really feel like staying at Kimi's guest house was a gift! The house is beautiful and well appointed and offers such a sense of privacy. Everything we needed was available. Kimi is an amazing hostess and it was a pleasure to get to know her. The pictures she shows of the property are just how it appears (yet more beautiful when you're there). Add in the privacy, weather, beautiful breeze, gorgeous flowers and plants and you have the perfect place to spend your vacation!!!!!!

A Peaceful Paradise not far from our favorite beaches and restaurants.
Gracious Host and lots of privacy which we value. Small kitchen served all our cooking needs and gas grill also. Even though no A/C never felt hot as breezy and ceiling fans in all rooms. Bigger then it looks. Highly recommend (but don't book the weeks when we return)!

Was a perfect spot for us for a month stay. Property at the end of a culdesac. Lovely and quite. Private small patio perfect for breakfasts and happy hours. Walkable distance to golf club for lunches and to the grocery store. Small but very complete. We stayed a month and loved it.

Paradise in paradise
This Ohana is truly wonderful. The setting is private and peaceful, surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, offering both inside and outside living spaces. It is sparkling clean and well appointed, with everything for a short or long stay - a complete kitchen, comfortable living room, cozy bedroom, two outside sitting areas and even a washer/dryer, all tastefully decorated. Waikoloa Village is a super convenient location with an excellent micro climate. The host, Kimi, cares deeply about her guests and is warm and welcoming. Her kindness touched our hearts and we can’t wait to return. 🌺

A little gem!
Kimi's guest house is the perfect place to unwind and relax. It's tasteful, quiet and very comfortable. Great location in the sunniest area of the island too! Some of the best beaches are right around the corner and the north side of the island is just breathtaking. We had a lovely time and really miss waking up to beautiful birdsong.

Outstanding value in a great area on the best Island.
Kimi has done an excellent job in setting up the Ohana. We've been to the Big Island 8+ times - staying at rental houses on Puako, to the high-end resorts of Mauna Kea, Fairmont, etc. this is by far the best value and the Waikoloa Village has everything you need. I was there a whole month and didn't want to leave!

Waikoloa Village getaway
This property is like new and very clean. Kiki is very accommodating and friendly. We hadn’t stayed in Waikoloa Village for years, so we decided to try it again. It was quiet and had a much more small town feel than Kona. But, it’s close enough to Kona that we could run there and shop, have dinner and hit Costco without it taking all day.

Bamboo O'hana doesn't disappoint
The gatehouse is perfect for two or three. It is located at the end of a cul de sac in a quiet neighborhood that is just minutes from the Village's main shopping and dining establishments. Upon our arrival, we were delighted to find two generous slices of homemade banana bread in the refrigerator, a selection of fresh local fruit in the bowl, and enough coffee k-cups and creamers to last until we could go shopping.. We were also provided with a starter selection of household dry goods. Our host was most accommodating to our need for more blankets and a heater when requested. She provided suggestions and recommendations for local eateries and activities, and made every effort to exceed our expectations. We are grateful to her for making our stay so enjoyable. Though we are not golfers, the rental includes a discount for two at the golf course, and provides access to the village pool. Mahalo for everything Kimi!

E'Komo Mai to Kimi's Bamboo Guest House Site,

Mahalo for taking the time to learn about me. I have been so fortunate to be born in Hilo, on this beautiful island. So, as a guest, I will be here to help you find your way around the since I live on the property. But really no matter where you go or how you go it is all good! Your time spent here can't be ruined.

Leaving Hawaii at an early age for college as many islanders do, I found my life taking a few turns that I hadn't planned on and it took many years before I found my way back to the Big Island. I spent many years in SO CAL, Palos Verdes and Manhattan Beach, raising my children. I have 3 children and 5 grandchildren all on the West Coast, Portland, OR., Pleasant Hill, CA, and Huntington Beach, CA.

In 1997, I made the move back to the big island. I see myself as lucky to have experienced the East Coast as well as the West Coast and a little bit between. I have also traveled and visited many countries all over the world which I found fascinating. But now I feel super fortunate to be able to be back on this magical island called Hawaii Island or the Big Island.

Hawaii Island, is known as a Healing Island. Many travel here to quiet their souls, reflect on their values and basically slow down a little. The Life style of Hawaii is just that. That is what I love about living here in Waikoloa. It is a very nonconforming town. There are big houses and little houses, there are fancy houses and humble houses, there are colorful houses and houses without color. We all live next to each other with basically the same goals, to be healthy, happy, safe and secure!

My career has been in real estate. I was a Real Estate Broker in SO CAL and now I own my own real estate company COOK WALLS, INC. . You can find me on the web. www.KimiTheRealtor.com

Why they chose this property

The evolution of this beautiful property known as "Kimi's Bamboo Guest house" is an on going adventure for me. I bought this "magical" property and have been on a mission to create a special home where my family, friends and guests, can come be comfortable, safe, be themselves, and enjoy the moment. For me it is all about loving where I am and being with people who are sincerely good, honest, kind, humble, and "sparkle" with joy. They make me happy.

What makes this property unique

Your benefits you will see are abundant. You will be living among super nice people, in a small community nestled against the side of Mauna Kea. You will be able to experience living in a quiet neighborhood rather than a condo or a hotel. You will be able to learn first hand what it is like to be an "Islander." And you will leave knowing that after your stay here at "Kimi's Bamboo Guest House", that you too are taking a bit of the way of the island back with you.

This house was built in 1978. It is unique in design and I hope you will be able to enjoy this property as I do. It is in progress. The Bamboo Guest house has been completely renovated. The Bamboo Guest house has lots of closet space. The Bamboo Guest house has in-house washer and dryer. The Bamboo Guest House has, a fully equipped Kitchen with most everything you need. If something is missing? Ask and we will see if it can be provided. There is a queen size bed and a twin sofa sleeper with a memory foam mattress.

Watch the papayas grow from the Kitchen window. Enjoy the quiet lanai and the Sunset deck. Tennis & Swimming Pool Available within walking distance. Plus an awesome Golf Course.
