Our group of 10 adults had a great time at Poppy’s. She was a great host, the house, was well stocked, and very comfortable! We walked to and from the slopes every day!
The cabin was perfect for our family gathering of 6 for the week of Christmas. The cabin was cozy and had holiday touches throughout. Poppy was quick to answer any questions. Location was perfect for skiing, snowshoeing and getting to the village. Hope we can come visit again!
Great place to go skiing at Palisades. Took the mountaineer shuttle everywhere; made it easy to get around. The only concern was the driveway is steep and tricky in the snow.Host was responsive and helpful. I'd stay there again.
We had a great stay at the house. It is a little outdated but still had all the amenities you need and had plenty of beds. The property manager was very responsive. The place was stocked with food, coffee, and condiments before our arrival. The shuttle service picked us up at the front door and is a short 15 minute walk to the mountain if the shuttle is running behind schedule. Would consider staying there again.
We stayed with a group of eight friends and had an absolutely wonderful time. Our host was extremely accommodating, very responsive and allowed some unexpected flexibility. I can’t recommend this property enough. The location to the ski resort is close enough that you .We stayed with a group of eight friends and had a absolutely wonderful time. Our host was extremely accommodating, very responsive and allowed some unexpected flexibility. I can’t recommend this property enough. The location to the ski resort is close enough that you don’t need a car.
I went to Tahoe w 5 of my friends from college and we just so happened to pick the weekend where Tahoe experienced one of its strongest blizzards to date.
With that being said most normal owners would leave you to figure things out on your own, but not Poppy. Poppy stocked the house w groceries for us, bought back up heaters and generators should we need them and was in constant contact with me throughout the entirety of my trip. I am confident in saying that I have never experienced a better host in my life and I likely will never experience another host as truly incredible and caring as Poppy. I can not recommend this house more. It has everything you could ever need and the proximity to the mountain is perfect. Overall 10/10.
The location couldn't have been any more perfect. We walked to the local shops and restaurant and we were a short 10 min drive to the lake. The house owner provided everything for us (even pancake mix-thank you). We felt right at home and felt sad that our trip ended but happy because we had a wonderful time.
Our only issue was the heat. Many houses in Tahoe do not have a/c’s and it got quite warm as we happened to arrive during a little heat wave. Property management was great, location was great we would stay again.
Very large and well appointed house super close to Squaw valley. Hosts were very easy to communicate with and let us drink or eat anything in their pantry and fridge. They even left us 2 bottles of wine! Kids loved the place as well. Outdoor deck was a huge plus and large umbrella allowed us to sit out there even when it was approaching 90deg outside.
This was a wonderful getaway, but felt very comfortable and had all the amenities of home, but with a view of the mountains! We've vacationed in Lake Tahoe many, many times, but this was the first time staying in Olympic Valley. Perfect location for going between Tahoe City and Truckee. Poppy keeps her house well-appointed and clean. Great setup for families and dogs!
Our family had a great time at this cabin. We enjoyed the huge couches in the living room, playing chess and drinking coffee. The location is walking distance to Squaw which was perfect for us to get some tuna in while also taking care of our young kids.
Great stay, walking distance to the village. The cabin had everything we needed and the dog was quite at home. We hope to come back and hopefully have some snow next time!
The cabin was comfortable and Poppy is super nice! We were allowed to check in early and leave late. More than enough room for 5 people and the cabin has everything you’d need.
My experience at this place was amazing. There’s more than enough room for 10 guests and the beds are very comfortable. The entire home was very clean and came with everything we needed.
Welcoming and relaxing home in a great location, just 5 mins from Squaw Village and walking distance to hiking and biking trails. Lovely to be able to bring our dog too!
We were not able to stay on the outside deck due to the bees and mosquitoes. We believe there might be an actual bee hive underneath the porch where the deck table and chairs are located. My mother unfortunately was stung by a bee on the first evening there. I was able to BBQ the second night but the family wasn't able to stay outside too long. I was able to buy Energizer batteries for the mosquito repellent lantern outside. We also witness a few times a small mouse in the living room running from the TV stand to underneath the stairs. Besides those two small issues the place felt cozy and had everything to entertain.
The house is spacious enough for 2 families with kids, kitchen has everything you need, we cooked all our meals at home. The location is great, 5 minutes drive to the slopes, really convenient. I would recommend to anyone who wants to go skiing with a group. Communication with owner was always good.
