A little get a way

Condo was excellent and we had a great stay. Very clean. Only thing missing was pot holders. We had to use washcloths to remove pans from the oven. Also an extra blanket for the bed. We got cold and there was no extra covering

A Perfect Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit is located in the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort in the Westwinds condo. This was our second stay at the Westwinds and we highly recommend. This was our first stay in this unit and we were not disappointed. It is located on the 10th floor. The view of the ocean is very nice. It was impeccably clean and very tastefully decorated. We found everything to be in good working order. The kitchen is well stocked with all the basic things you would need to prepare meals. There are no spices or cooking oils, so bring what you need in that department. We were given a travel sized dish soap, laundry pack and dishwasher detergent, along with a sponge and one roll of paper towels. It was plenty for what my husband and I needed. The bathroom has a large sink area and a very large shower. We were provided with 2 rolls of toilet paper and travel sized shampoo, conditioner, lotion, aloe vera gel, and linen spray. There were plenty of hangars in the closet to hang clothes. There is one small piece of furniture in the bedroom where you can put clothes and the drawers in the bathroom also have plenty of space for clothes as well. There was an ironing board and iron, which we did not use. The king sized bed was wonderful. We found it to be very comfortable. There were 4 beach chairs and 2 small beach umbrellas that were all in working order. We were very grateful as we always fly and are unable to bring our own. The beach area in front of the Westwinds is private so it is not terribly crowded in comparison to some others. We had no issues finding space and enjoyed all the people around us. The pool area is quite large and there are many available loungers. We will most definitely stay in this unit again if available.

2024 Beach Trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rental was very nice. Everything was clean and bed slept good. Shower had okay pressure. We have really enjoyed all rentals at Westwinds. My only complaint would be the televisions. Seems like every year we are trying to figure out how to work the televisions and we never did figure out the tv in the Master. Not a huge deal but we wanted to watch the 2024 Olympics and finally had to just sign into my YouTube TV account to enjoy. Overall, great experience.

Oceanfront condo for 2 - with ocean sounds

This was the cleanest and best maintained condo and condo property we have ever stayed at - with many years of beach vacations. It was well decorated, had gorgeous views with 2 balconies and was close enough to the ocean to hear the surf. The resort shuttle was convenient to go to the wharf. It is a great condo for couples. While it had a pullout couch in the living room, the only bathroom is though the master bedroom - so not ideal for additional guests unless small children. The master bedroom had limited drawer space - only available in the tv stand. A full low dresser with tv on top would have eliminated the need to use our suitcases during our 7 night stay. The night stands were only countertops with no storage space. Bedroom closet space was ample for a couple - but also had bedding for the couch, ironing board, etc. The condo supplied 4 beach chairs and an umbrella to bring to the beach. It was a convenient walk to the pool and beach, even with carrying supplies. However, we felt the actual beach space allotted after the resort chair rentals lined most of private beach was limiting. Rentals were around $50 per day, $250 per week. Signs lined the beach specifically designating areas for each building - and we witnessed the beach monitors asking guests to move each day if they weren’t on the right area. We got our space about 10 am each day in early May - but wouldn’t want to deal with the in season crowd. We had a great time the week we were there. We would have rated the condo a perfect 5 if not for the bedroom storage and beach chair rental issues.

Reviewer Comments: From start to finish, the whole process was smooth sailing from making our first reservation, communication with management, questions about the vacation home and with our arrival for the week. Great location, great view, two balconies to view different angles of Sandestin, and a great way to escape for some R & R. The only thing I would recommend is to bring some dish soap, toliet paper, condiments, laundry soap and beach towels. We will definitely come back to this location.

Exceptional stay

Room was exactly as described/pictured, spotless and very comfortable. Westwinds complex will not disappoint you. Had minor problems with a water leak sensor shutting the water off —BUT the only reason I am stating this, is to point out how how fast this concern was addressed by My Vacation Haven property management team — literally one phone call, and within 5 minutes everything was was taken care of — great attention to detail! The only suggestion we could make, would be to make available to the guests a layout of the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort complex, and a list of the amenities available with your stay. With a little effort, we were able to figure things out, but this would have been a time saver for us. Overall, extremely satisfied with our accommodations and visit —already looking forward to next year! Thank-you.

It was a lovely property with a great view. We did experience repair noise and construction near us. Once at night. We also ran toilet paper as two rolls wasn’t enough for a week. But overall it was nice.

Love Westwinds, not happy with My Vacation Haven

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family has rented in Westwinds for 25 years and WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT HERE!!!!! It is the jewel of Sandestin! We recommend it to family and friends who love it, too! We've used my Vacation Haven for most of our bookings over those years. We've rented this particular unit for four years and have been very happy. It should be noted that there is now no dresser in the bedroom and a closet that was once available is now locked, meaning we had to live out of suitcases for 2 weeks. Not optimal. Worse, the dryer broke a couple days in. I reported it and then texted and called every day asking about status. Whoever answers the phone for My Vacation Haven is very nice, and they did get us extra towels, but when I stopped calling, I never heard from the company about the dryer again. No updates, no suggestions about laundry (like drying beach towels!), no resolution. When I called before checking out to express my disappointment, they offered an insultingly tiny credit for our inconvenience. The saddest part is, all it would have taken was a little communication on their part and we would have understood the issue, adapted, and been fine. It seems as if they've gotten too big to provide good customer service anymore. After many years of loyalty, we may need to try a different rental company next time.
