The place was beautifully surrounded by all the colors of autumn you can imagine! We enjoyed many of the local things in the area to do but loved relaxing on the porch and sitting by the fire most of all! We were nice and cozy and we took our 2 dogs who also enjoyed the area and the squirrels and the deer that were quite literally in our front, and back yard while we were there. We sat at the table for breakfast Saturday morning and watched 3 deer walk right by the window and up the hill! It was so cool! Aside from a few minor things we noticed in the cleaning of the trailer, a few things we needed or could have used that were not provided (shovel to clean out the fire pit, vacuum, basic all purpose cleaner) and a little confusion about where things were and how to turn alot of things on due to no directions/instructions being left inside anywhere or any informational guides provided via email we have/had no complaints and were all discussing
reutrning in the future!
We LOVED our stay at the Eagles Nest camp! Clean, private, and cozy!! The perfect location between St Marys & Benezettes Elk Country Visitors Center. We picked up groceries at Aldi (( 15 min drive)) and stocked up on food and beverages we would need, as the camp comes fully stocked with all your dishes, silverwear, and pot/pans. The full size refrigerator was great, as that meant we could stock up in one trip to town. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows and making smores by the fire pit. Our fur baby made himself at home. We hadnt seen him that happy and comfortable away from home ever. The Elk Visitors Center is about a 10 minute sceneic drive. Best time to see the Elk is at dusk. We went at about 6pm and saw a whole heard! We loved this little camp tucked away off the beaten path! Already planning our trip out next October, if not sooner, and looking forward to another stay at Eagles Nest! The hosts are fantastic! Even supplied space heaters for the cold October nights! Plenty of blankets, towels, and pillows! Clean! Smelled nice! I have zero complaints. The dau nefore checkin, the hosts sent us amessage about everything we would need to know for our stay. Awesome communication! We have a toyota highlander suv, so didn't mind the steep driveway others have mentioned being a drawback. We rather liked how it set us up and tucked us into the woods for added privacy! Can't wait to visit again!

Rock Hill / Eagles nest
No wi-fi as advertised, could not find the router. TV not used, could not navigate the set top box/TV without help.
A cheat sheet left at the property for the TV use would have been helpful. Location good. Steep driveway as advertised on VRBO, but OK. Some folks will have trouble with the driveway without adequate ground clearance and 4 WD.
We had a great time, the accommodations were great . Only negative was the queen size mattress in the main bedroom was not comfortable at all. We actually took the mattress from the other bed and put it underneath the mattress in the main room to get by for the weekend. Other than that it was a great stay !
We arrived late and the owner was in constant contact to make sure we found it in the dark. The place was the perfect combination of necessities and country. Deer walked through the yard in the am while we were eating breakfast. Quiet through the night. Porch was a popular evening spot. We wanted the quiet and it was a nice electronic break from the everyday hustle so we didnt use the wifi. This was the perfect get away to get back to basics without the sacrifice of comfort and just enjoy each others company without distraction.
Beautiful, clean property! Trailer is well stocked with everything you may need to cook inside and a great fire pit for outside cooking on the fire or with the included grill. The only downfall was the fact that there is literally no cell phone reception on site or in most of Benezette…thus I stress the importance of printing out or taking a screenshot of the key code and wifi password BEFORE coming to the site. Learn from our mistake…ha ha…this is no way hindered our amazing experience here, but definitely learn from our recommendation…ha ha Thank you for allowing us to stay at this beautiful property! It made lots of wonderful memories for our family as we were celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary this weekend. Our family had a great time staying here and will be back!
We had a great time it was a great set up. We were forced to actually take a step back a relax, which is a change from our everyday busy life. We had no complaints of the place its self we just wished the wifi worked so we could stream some shows. It was nice to disconnect from social media some. This place was perfect for us for the weekend. It had everything we needed. Which wifi is clearly something we wanted but didn't need. We will definitely be going back!!
This property was super clean and exactly as described. It was exactly what we were looking for.....unplugged relaxation! No cell service, a peaceful bonfire EVERY night, perfect vacation atmosphere. We will return for sure! Thank you.
It’s a nice property. Very clean. Close to the Elk viewing areas. Peaceful and quiet. Well stocked. Tom, the host, was great in keeping you updated and helpful. We will be back in the he future!
It was so nice an relaxing ,very quiet, met the owner he even told us some places to check out . We Loved just hanging outside by the fire pit . NO CELL service thru out most of Benezette except close to the visitor center. Will definitely go again .
We rented the Eagle’s Nest for a quick trip to Benezette to experience the elk rut. It was perfect for us. Close to all the activity but off the beaten path and quiet. It’s just roomy enough, super clean with everything we needed. Bonus: Skies were clear the first night and the stargazing was EXCEPTIONAL! Perfect place if you want peace and quiet and a nice, simple, clean place to stay.

September stay
During our stay it rained pretty hard the first night. I did notice a few leaks coming from the porch ceiling. So my wife and I moved some patio furniture around to avoid the drips. There was also a small leak coming from the vent/ac unit in the main living room area as well as behind the couch that the owner should consider fixing or perhaps is not aware of. Overall it is a pretty good location to all the main elk attractions. And as stated you need 4wd or awd to access. The shower is extremely small and very little water pressure but if you are use to sleeping in a camper and or are looking for place close to most it isn’t a bad place. It just wasn’t what my wife and I were used to. Think we got a little spoiled at the last few places we stayed up there.

No WiFi, no hot water
I stayed at the Eagle's Nest by myself for two nights. The rental was clean and smelled good with no musty odors. Two gallons of bottled spring water were provided for drinking. The mobile home is set in the side of the mountain with a small, stone parking area in front and a steep driveway.
There were two issues with my stay. The first was that there is no WiFi. The listing says there is WiFi, and goes as far as saying you can get speeds up to 100 Mbps. This is NOT true, and I confirmed it with the manager via text who said there is no internet at the Eagles Nest. Unfortunately, there is also no cell service, so keep that in mind. It took an entire day of traveling to get a reply to my text due to poor cell service in the area.
The second issue was that there was no hot water. I was told that the hot water should have been on, so I am assuming there is hot water available, just not during my stay. I tried to heat water on the stove but the gas was off there as well.
This wouldn't be a bad place to crash for the night if it was cheaper and it had the hot water turned on.
We had a wonderful time seen deer and heard turkeys around the cabin we're definitely going to frequent the cabin so peaceful and quiet just outside of town took a drive and saw quite a few elk 3 of which were trophy bulls can't wait to get back up there possibly longer next time
Loved the Place , definitely need SUV to get up to the Nest ! Host was great in communication
Check out Elk State Park and Hidden Alpaca Farms 15-20 mins from The Nest.
