Walk to everything from this tropical, ground-level home, just three houses from the beach!! Comfortably Sleeps 8!

Deceptively large, this house is wide and deep. It is both open and spacious yet warm and cozy. 3/4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths.

Hardwood floors, wood beam ceilings, and old Florida charm. Fully renovated with all modern conveniences for a carefree relaxing vacation.

This house is on Laika Lane, a quiet, private lane, with no on-street parking. Easy, stress-free, walk to the beach. No busy roads to cross.

Good sized, open-air, heated pool with plenty of sitting room on a large paved deck. The house and pool are bathed with the sun, but also some comfortable shady areas are available too.

All reservations/cancellations are subject to the terms and conditions (policies) of the American Realty Rental Agreement once the reservation is booked thru 3rd party platforms.

Policies include but are not limited to credit card/debit card convenience fees and cancellation fees.

Top Choice Vacation Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to Captiva for over 20 years. This is the first time we have rented Leapin Lizard & we LOVED IT! Outside looks are deceiving. Inside is clean and updated with lovely finishes. The yard and pool area is very private & has plenty of room for your family to spread out. The screened front porch is a nice space to read a book in the afternoon or enjoy a drink in the afternoon. It gets extra high marks for being so close to the beach. The owners of this property maintain it very well. We can't wait for our next trip to Captiva & want to stay at Leapin Lizard.

Great old school house 30 seconds from the beach

This house is perfect for a family. It's a 30 second walk to the beach and a 3 min walk to the restaurants and stores. Perfect location. The pool is well heated and prefect for little ones. The house sleeps 6 with ease and there is a really cool second building that is perfect if your inlaws or another couple comes. Good grill, well equipped kitchen and just a great experience. The beach at the end of the street (30 seconds away) is nearly empty and the place comes with a beach cart, umbrellas and 4 chairs. There is a boat rental right on the bay side (3 min walk) and that was a great experience as well. I rent VRBO's all the time and this was one of the great value experiences.

Almost hate to give away such an excellent find!

House was as shown 3 bed 2 bath inside with convertible couch and bathroom in the pool house. Pool, house and grounds were clean and well stocked. Location was fantastic. Close to beach, shops and restaurants. Can’t wait to stay again!! Hope it’s not booked!!

Will never rent this house again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I paid top dollar for this rental. When I arrived the pool area was a mess. I was so upset after working so hard to come to my vacation to find such a mess at the home I paid thousands to rent. I called American Realty and they sent a house keeper. I told the her we needed more than a housekeeper. Pool and cool deck was a mess and no way to hang out there if they did not clean (unless I spend hours cleaning). This was very upsetting as I was exhausted and ready to begin my vacation. I live in Florida and understand the weather and so forth but the mess in the pool area had been there for a while. Old floaties with water sitting and mosquitoes, old rusty chairs and junk in the corner. Finally they sent out 3 different services to clean pool and deck. The clean staff was very nice and did a great job but only after my blood pressure had gone through the roof dealing with bs I should have never had to deal with. I certainly expected better after paying thousands to stay for 9 days. Light bulbs on exterior where out and lightbulbs throughout the house also out. I had to rob lightbulbs from inside to have light outside and around the pool area. Sink leaked because faucet is not installed properly. Inside was clean enough but house needs upgrades if they are going to charge top dollar. I have stayed in many of the houses on Captiva and never had a complaint. When someone pays top dollar for a rental they should not be so stressed and have to search and scavenge for lightbulbs, have a sink leak all over the floor and have a total mess in the outdoor area where you will spend most of your time. House is priced way to high for what you get. Worn and needs upgrades. Location is amazing and was the reason I chose this house. I would never rent this house again at the price I paid.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Captiva, we come every year if we can. The location of the house was perfect, loved that it was steps from the beach and close to the shops and restaurants. The house was cute and well kept, however the breaker box in the kitchen tripped the entire time were there there. There was a broken window pane and the one sink leaked. For a family of 5 coming from PA, we still had to buy A LOT to keep a lfloat for the week as there weren't many extra amenities. The cushions in the back on porch were super thin, so sitting down at picnic table wasn't comfortable. The dresser drawers in each room were stuck often, but I'm assuming from heat. I'm being super picky, but we also paid a lot of money and should not have encountered certain issues as we did. Maintenance was wonderful and really helped anytime we needed them. We will definitely be back to Captiva, Florida.

American Realty was very accommodating and professional, and responded quickly to the few issues we had. The house was as advertised and we loved the flow and the fact there were no steps. Fabulous location too! We would absolutely rent from American Realty again, and would recommend Leapin Lizard. One small suggestion, please ask the owners to fix, or update, the refrigerator water filter. I couldn't drink the water but I think I could have with the filter through the refrigerator.
