A lovely relaxing stay, away from it all!

I just want to say thank you so much for the use of your accommodation in Castelletto. We had a superb time and enjoyed exploring some of the villages, walked a little along the Santa Franca route to Vezzolacca and enjoyed great food at home (including from the pizza oven) and local Trattoria and Ristoranti. We could easily spend so much more time relaxing there in the beautiful heat!! Some local information/ maps would have been welcome to get us started.

excellent - hervorragend!

Absolut ruhige Lage.

Danke Euch beiden !

The ultimate get away into the gorgeous Italian Countryside!

If you are looking for the ultimate escape into the Italian countryside but yet still be close enough to great cities and sites - the Stone House in Emilia is the place for you! Hidden down a long, very narrow drive through the woods and outlined by a beautiful wrought iron fence. My wife and I spent 16 days in Italy celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and we wanted to be able to stay local - off the beaten path - but yet be able to make day trips to all the best places. We stayed a week in a VRBO residence in Tuscany and then moved north to this house. Both places were perfect for us. The little tiny village of Castelletto is sleepy and quiet. The old church - the anchor of the village is beautiful and it's bell chimes ever so faintly on the hour. The people, when you see them, are friendly. Just a quick drive and you are in Vernasca, Lugagnano, or Castell Arquato. Three great little towns with every amenity. We grocery shopped and prepared some of our own meals. Frank was a huge blessing in that he gave us ideas on where to go and great places to eat - his favorite spots where he knows the owners personally. If you want to get to know Italy and truly live into the culture - this is a great way to do it. The Fine Stone House has everything you need and it sits on a beautiful piece of property. We had the entire place to ourselves and it was a great experience. There is a second separate unit in the upstairs that is also available to rent. If you want the true Italian experience and full immersion - The FIne Stone House in Emilia delivers as promised!

Beautiful traditional home in the hills

Beautiful, authentic Italian farmhouse in the sleepy village of Corti. Great place to get away from it all. Loved hearing the church bells in the morning. House is well equipped with all you need and as described online. Fifteen minutes from the closest shops/supermarket in Castell'Arquatto. Thirty minutes from the auto strada to Milano and about 75 minutes to Linate airport. Surrounded by many beautiful Italian villages with medieval Castles and absolutely amazing food!!! We visited local trattorias in Vezzolaca, Monestero and "El Ranch" all within a few minutes. Loved the local delicacy "chingali" - wild boar. Frank was a great host meeting us at the house on arrival with a case of wine and gift basket . The children loved the Christmas tree and lights that Frank had set up for our Christmas holiday. My husband and I loved the wood fireplace (well stocked with enough wood to last all winter). Waking up to snow on our last day was definitely a highlight of our trip to Bella Italia! Thank you Frank for sharing your family's ancestral home with us. Definitely recommend if you want to experience the true Italian village and food experience. Diana - Australia.
