Property was just as described, peaceful coastal getaway with a view of the water. Property had everything you needed and easy to find. Kris was very communicative and responsive would definitely stay here again.
Our stay was so enjoyable, peaceful, and welcoming. The place was clean, bed was comfortable, and outside deck was perfect to enjoy the great outdoors and view.
My wife, her sister, and I had a getaway birthday weekend. This VRBO was an ideal spot for us to stay - it's in a fantastic location on the coast with easy access to some beautiful hiking trails and beaches. The property was spotless when we arrived, check in was easy, and in a very quiet neighborhood. We would love to return.
My wife and I spent Thanksgiving weekend here in Anchor Bay, and we loved it... the house is perfect, clean, well stocked and comfortable... Donna stopped by and introduced herself and a little history on the house. We will definitely stay here again!
My wife and I celebrated our 28th anniversary and couldn't have picked a better place.
Super clean, tastefully decorated, and well appointed. The sofa and bed were very comfortable (usually not the case). Very private yet has an ocean view through a gap in the trees and is only 5 minutes from Gualala. Internet worked great.
Highly recommended.
The house was clean, updated, and nicely situated in among the trees, but still with an ocean view! The listing mistakenly advertised two bathrooms, and when we informed the owner, he immediately gave us a partial reimbursement. Super great stay and an understanding owner.
The property manager, Donna, was a delight! She warmly welcomed me and let me know about all of the local places to visit. The place was a small, adorable, completely remodeled 2 bedroom 1 bath. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Thank you, Donna!!!
We truly enjoyed our stay here. The house is very clean, newly remodeled, there is no personal clutter, and the size is perfect for a couple or small family. It almost looks like a house that's staged for selling, everything just looks new/fresh and modern, yet very comfortable. We prefer king beds, but the queen beds were very comfortable. The only minor downside really is the fact that you can't walk anywhere - everything requires the car, especially if you want to go to a beach or restaurant. The ocean peak is just that, a peak. It was foggy most of the days we stayed here, so no ocean to be seen. Highly recommended with the minor location caveat.
Overall the property was nice, clean, comfortable and in a good location, quiet and private. property is updated throughout and fully furnished. Close to beaches, general and a few places to eat. While the property was private, I would suggest some kind of window covering for the living room that can be closed at the end of the night. A ceiling fan in the bedrooms would be great.
Simply put, perfect for a single or couple. Clean, new, efficient, quiet, relaxing. Can see the ocean and hear the wind through trees.
Close enough to town, yet far enough away from town.
Everything in the house is what you need to have an enjoyable trip.
Note - Internet only. No Cable. Lack of Cable is not the owner's fault as only the cable company left town. You can stream on to your device but TVs in the house are not Smart.
Would go again!
This house was completely renovated and beautifully decorated. The air was sweet with redwood and it was SO quiet. Located near nice towns and there were so many beach access turnouts to walk to the beach ... so unlike near San Francisco where a lot of access is fenced off. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had just about everything and thank you for providing the coffee/tea Keurig pods! The only suggestion I would make is to provide curtains for the front window and a door screen ... we had to close the front door around 6 as mosquitos and other bugs flew into the house ... it would be nice to have the front door open into the night. I will definitely return to this VRBO ... it's a keeper!

My great grandfather founded and named AnchorBay. Although the original homestead was sold in the 1920's we held on to one acre in his memory. I recently renovated the beach cottage and have added it to VRBO for others to enjoy one of the most beautiful places on earth.
