Excellent home with great views of the mountains. Very accessible to the mountain and town. Quick response times from the host and house manager. Would highly recommend for a large group.
The 3-bedroom house was the perfect cabin for our family ski vacation. We cooked some fun dinners in the well-appointed kitchen and our hosts provided plenty of games and places to relax in the TV room and the cozy fireplace room with amazing views!
My group had an amazing time staying at this property. The house had plenty of space, views were amazing and the hot tub was the perfect remedy after a long ski day. Would recommend for any group.
The home is located at the top of the mountain so it’s peaceful quite and has stunning views. Both the front and back decks are enjoyable in the morning and evening. We stayed during a record heat wave and there is no A/C. The house did cool off at night. The bedrooms are not laid out very well, none of them had an attached bathroom. My wife says the house needs a full length mirror to get ready. Don’t shop at Clark’s market in town, it’s way overpriced. It’s worth the 20 min drive to City Market or even better 30 min drive to Walmart. Gas is also worth the drive, do not buy in town.
Large house at amazing location perfect for family or friends gathering
Well equipped large home with all necessary amenities located at the quite cul-de-sac with amazing view. Close to Snowmass resort (10 min drive). Make sure you drive 4WD during winter months since it is located on the hill. Barbara, the host, was excellent- replied immediately to all requests. In general - we were very satisfied during our stay.
Barbara was an excellent communicator. Answered our questions, about the house and area before and during our stay and she assisted us with recommendations. The house was clean and had plenty of linens for our 10 day stay and use of the hot tub. I am a cooker and wish there had been a few more seasonings, olive oil, tinfoil, etc. The location is ideal, private and has a beautiful view while still being very close to Snowmass Village. Be aware there is a tenant under the main house. It was not an issue for us. She is a massage therapist and you can set up an in home session although we did not.
The house could use some updating but, was quite comfortable. We enjoyed the free firewood and beautiful fireplace. It was very warm in the house, took us a couple days to figure out how to manage the temperature but, we did. Would Definitely stay again especially now we have everything figured out!
I am always grateful to owners that host us in their own home, and this stay was no exception. I would stay here again. The house was very clean and inviting upon arrival. The beds and linens were comfortable. The views are amazing, and I really enjoyed their art collection. The space is very quiet and secluded, but you are only ten minutes from Snowmass skiing and groceries. It snowed a few inches while we were here and the road - which is narrow and winding - was plowed before 9. There are plenty of towels and linens. WIFI was great, and I used the desk to work a couple of days. The host and manager were both friendly and responsive to my questions. A few things keep me from rating our stay as five stars. The third bathroom does not have a sink or mirror so if you had three couples or lots of teenage girls I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There also are no en suite bathrooms. You should not expect to use the grill or sit on the porches in the winter as the snow isn’t shoveled and some protected birds are nesting on one of the balconies. The TV has a Roku which is nice but the screen was jittery off and on the whole time. There is only one humidifier so the house was really dry. Finally if you are sensitive to temperature this may not be the best place for you. The radiator heat was too warm upstairs even with lows in teens and 20s so we slept with screened windows open and fans running. To summarize I would stay here again but wanted to be honest about some of the quirks for other fellow travelers. Thanks for hosting us!
We stayed for a week at this property and enjoyed every minute of it. The cabin is located about 10 minutes from Snowmass Village. It was perfect for all of us. Some of us went skiing, some went sightseeing, and some just sat around by the fire at the cabin.
The cabin has great views with big windows and was well stocked with appliances and dishes. The host was very responsive to questions and the house manager was helpful.
We definitely recommend this house and hope that we can stay again at this location!
We had a group of six and we were all able to fit extremely comfortably, house location was great, and the owners were very helpful anytime we had any questions.
The house was perfect for a Colorado ski trip. It had a great kitchen, great living quarters, and a fantastic hot tub. I truly enjoyed our time there, and we hope to come back next year. Communication with the property manager and owners exceeded expectations. Our children are between the ages of five through 12, and they thought the house was amazing.
Our kids (3.5 & 5.5) LOVED our stay at this property. Katie - the house manager was so accommodating, brought the kids sleds, New Years toys, and became a friendly face in a new environment. She was great! They loved the bunk room, the hot tub and all the games and puzzles in the home. The TV room was super cozy for family movie night too. The home is very nicely decorated for the mountain vibe and has some great artwork as well to make you feel like vacation. We would have given 5 stars, but the home is older and has some quirks. We had a ceiling leak (fixed right away!) and some issues with the heating in kids room, space heaters need in others. (but not too many or fuse will go out. We figured it all out eventually) Also ended up alternating who slept near the kids upstairs, as didn't want them using the circular stairs in the middle of the night - or playing on top bunk - just can't trust our 3 yo son at the moment. There is no "master" upstairs. So, that was a bummer for our trip. For older kids - shouldn't be an issue. The house was about a 10 min drive to what we needed, which was just fine for Covid Times, since trying to avoid crowds anyways. We went sledding on the golf course, played games, cooked (they have full kitchen supplies - even waffle maker - so bring ingredients!) and watched movies. They do have Roku (not listed in features) but didn't have detergent, fyi... Overall - great memories made at this Mountain Home! Thanks for everything Barbara and Katie
A beautiful cabin nestled in the mountains of Snowmass. Cuddle up by the fireplace, bake holiday treats or relax in the hot tub perched with a view! Such an enjoyable stay!
Terrific location. Private without being remote. Amazing views in multiple directions. Home is VERY well stocked and it is comfortable for family groups. We ate... we drank.... we played games and basically took some time to enjoy being together. Would 100% go back.
We very much enjoyed our stay! The home is optimally located at the end of a residential road; it's quiet and tucked into the side of a hill, giving it sweeping views of Snowmass from nearly every vantage point. We particularly enjoyed meals from the deck just off the kitchen. The house itself is comfortable and well-loved with plenty of space that invites you in. 5+ stars for communication with Barbara; she was a pleasure to work with.
What amazing views in this private Snowmass retreat. We ate most of our meals on the back patio and had a genuine getaway from COVID craziness. Barbara, the owner, and her friend Katie, the local property manager were so responsive. It was a joy to work with them. A truly beautiful spot.
We chose Snowmass because we have 5 children and 6 grandchildren, each with a wide range of skiing and athletic abilities and this house and location served as the perfect home base for everyone's favorite activity.
Why they chose this property
We have been coming here to ski for 30 years, but not until 2003 did we spend a summer in Colorado. After enjoying summers here more than the winter, we decided to purchase this home to give our family year round vacation memories.
What makes this property unique
The first thing we saw as we walked up the driveway of our new home was the red fox who has become our mascot. Over the years we've seen too many animals to count and revel in each sighting. This location offers it all, privacy, stunning views and cozy relaxing time in front of the fireplace or apres ski champagne in the hot tub.
