Only one hour from St. Louis. You get the whole house, perfect for families! Our guest house comfortably sleeps up to eight people, includes a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a main floor laundry, as well as all of the comforts of home. Enjoy the stone fireplace from the living room or kitchen with the open floor plan and cathedral ceilings. Take in the views from the huge wraparound deck with a gas grill and a sparkling hot tub. Enjoy the large pool located behind main house in the summer months. The small kids will love the large playground. There is a large concrete patio that overlooks the lake with the fire pit for weenie roasts, and s'mores. Fish the lake with the supplied fishing gear. Take a ride in a side-by-side through the property, all compliments of Bert and Cathy, owners of American Bounty Farms.

Even though you're in a secluded setting, you can still enjoy great phone service, free Wi-Fi and full streaming capability on our large flat screen TV with a Firestick for viewing pleasure. King size bed in master bedroom with 2 queen beds in guest rooms. The futon in the living room converts into full size bed.


The guest house is just a part of our secluded country estate. The aerial photos reveal a stellar view of the guest house, main house, barn, stocked lake, in-ground pool open in summer months, pastures and forest with trails for walking. You cannot get lost here as our entire 52 acres is completely fenced in!

If you are an equestrian, we can accommodate you with 20 acres of fenced in pasture, 20 acres of forest and riding trails, 8 stalls and an outdoor arena. We board full time, part time, or if you are just passing through. You are welcome to visit with our gentle horses, and our miniature horses as well!

We want to make the American Bounty Guest House and Stables your favorite Midwest adventure for families, couples, girls or guys getaways. We are centrally located in the heart of Missouri Wine Country, close to the towns of Washington, Hermann, and Augusta featuring numerous wineries, distilleries, micro-breweries and farm-to-table restaurants. Located off I-44 (old Rt 66) and highway 50 only minutes from Union Missouri, we are a great place to stay if retracing Rt 66.

We are only one hour away from the heart of downtown St. Louis and all of its attractions such as our world class Zoo, museums, Cardinal Baseball, Blues Hockey, Grants Farm, Anheuser-Busch Brewery, concert venues, shopping, and only 30 minutes from Six Flags Over Mid America. The entertainment choices are endless for adults and children.

Bert and Cathy live in the main house and are here to make your stay safe, relaxing, and memorable as possible. If you are looking for an authentic country life getaway, you have found it!

Beautiful property!!

This experience was great! The space was perfect - we were able to have a family barbecue and had plenty of room- even when it rained- and we had to be mostly inside. We got to feed the horses and donkeys which was a treat for the kids! The host was so helpful and responsive!

Wonderful Stay

We visited Bert and Cathy's property for a relaxing bachelor weekend and loved every minute of it. The property is beautiful in the winter, the pond was frozen over, snow covered everything. The ponys and cats were fun to feed and see. The hot tub is amazing in the cold weather. 10/10 would stay again

Peaceful setting. Gave us the opportunity to spend quality time together, just as planned. Even on our rainy weekend we were still able to enjoy the natural surroundings. Kindest hosts we’ve ever experienced!

Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. I will start off by saying that Kathy and Bert are so kind and accommodating. Their property is beautiful, and when we arrived, they took us on a tour of their property and let us meet all their animals. They had great recommendations, were very helpful, and altogether just perfect hosts. The hot tub was clean, the beds were soft, and we had plenty of space for everything. We will definitely be returning sometime next year! Thank you so much again for the wonderful stay!

Great spring break stop!

We stopped there on our way back from Branson and it was the highlight of the trip! My daughter loved the animals and we got some fishing in. Hosts were great. They provided worms to fish with, a UTV ride around the property, and time with the animals. It is the best rental I have stayed at!

Beautiful property & hosts were exceptional!

The property was beautiful, and the hosts were exceptional! We loved our nightly ride with Cathy on their UTV to feed the horses. And Cowboy Dave and his horse experience was fantastic! Everything was well maintained and clean. Wi-Fi was spotty but it's not surprising given the property is remote. We hope to return when it's cooler! Thanks for sharing your peaceful home with us!

Wonderful get-a-way!

We were looking for a place to stay for a few days with a 3 generation family. And we found it here. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The highlight for the kiddos was the swimming pool and fishing. Bert was always helpful with any questions we had. Bert and Catherine were so gracious sharing their property.

Family Summer Trip

We stayed at this magnificent property over the 4th of July as a family getaway with my in-laws, husband, and my daughter. We chose this property mainly because of the great reviews, but our stay was even better than expected. We had an age range of 70 - 7 year olds and we all had so much fun! We were never bored and truly couldn't even get to all the things we wanted to do in our 3 night stay. We used the hot tub in the mornings while it was still cool, we helped feed the ponies and horses, we swam in the pool at least twice a day, we grilled BBQ, played on the playground, and fished constantly (my daughter caught and released 41 fish with at least 4 types of fish caught)! The hosts Cathy & Bert make your trip feel like you have a personal guide. I was wondering how it worked with them at the main house, but they treat you like family and are as involved as you would like them to be. They gave us a tour of the property, let us help feed and learn about their horses/ ponies, and responded so quickly when we couldn't find something. Lastly, the guest house had anything you needed (like even a waffle maker) with a welcoming cozy decor. With 4 adults and 1 child we never felt cramped and had ample living space. We would recommend to anyone that this property has it all with wonderful and hard working hosts.

Perfect mix of fun & relaxation

Our family had the best time. The house was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. We fished, swam, did the paddleboat, made a fire, played games, and played on the playground and hung out in the hot tub. It was exactly what we were looking for. Book it!!

Best VRBO ever!

So glad we found this place! We have nothing but POSITIVE things to say. The home was comfortable, well stocked, and clean. We all slept like babies! The property was breathtaking. Hosts could not have been nicer or more accommodating. My kids (age 21 and 14) had a great time fishing and seeing the horses. Girls Weekend

This property was everything it claims to be. We got here just in to enjoy the pool before the weather got too cold. So we had the pool all day, and the hot tub at night. We had the fire pit going 2 nights. A group of 5 women in there 50's, we had enough space to do our own thing, and still spend time together. The property is so beautiful. We got to walk all over the property and visit with the horses. We will definitely go back. Thanks Cathy and Bert!!

Relaxing with great friends

We had a great stay enjoying the amenities this property had to offer. Bert and Cathy were great hosts. Bert took us for a ride around the property and let us feed the horses. Cathy stopped by and made sure that we had everything we needed. If you want to relax and and enjoy the outdoors this is the perfect destination.

Gorgeous surroundings, lots to keep you busy.

The grounds are beautiful and the hosts are kind and accommodating. If you like to fish for bass, you will love the lake! We spent Monday-Friday with our 4 grandchildren ages 4 - 8 and had a great time, in spite of record heat. Found nearby Reiker’s Ford to be a great swimming spot, in addition to the on-site sparkling pool! Thank you for a wonderful getaway!
