Relaxation
Great weather. Only one day in our fourteen day stay did we have rain. There were some issues with lighting in the kitchen. The main overhead light was burned out and half of the under cabinet lights were missing bulbs. All in all we had a very relaxing visit. I would recommend this home to anyone.

3rd Time
This was our third straight year at this property and it won’t be our last. Private beach with plentiful ocean life, recreation and a cozy cottage setting. The house is nicely equipped and offers an unreal view of the Gulf…perfect for back porch sunset watching.

Beautiful home with breathtaking sunset view!
Beautiful home with breathtaking sunset view! The pictures listed DO NOT do it justice. It was much better than we expected. We loved the kayaks and the downstairs deck, which is steps from the water. The water is very shallow but still enjoyable. We did use water shoes which I highly recommend because of lots of sting rays and occasional rocks. We were amazed at all the wildlife! Birds of all kinds, dolphins, terrapins, frogs, lizards, lots of different fish and sting rays. We even saw a sea turtle! The house was fully stocked with linens and basics like TP, trash bags, dish soap, etc. Beds were comfy, washer/dryer worked well, propane grill, and the showers were great. The AC did stop working one day but someone was there to fix it within a couple of hours. Highly recommend! We would definitely stay here again!

Love coming here
Once again, we have fully enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back in the future! Just a couple things- the house wasn’t very clean this time. A lot of dust and sand. The beautiful screened in porch is becoming quite weathered. Chipping paint and broken screen allowed many biting bugs into the enclosed area. Hopefully this will all be addressed, as this is our favorite place to visit. All in all, still a fine rental. Thanks again!!

Sandcastle stay
Overall, we really liked the location and condition of this property! There are just a few things that could be improved.....the bedding could use an upgrade (maybe put a mattress pad over the mattress topper to make it more comfortable), inventory the kitchen utensils/dishes and add more as well as clean/organize the cupboards and maybe add a dehumidifier to help with the musty smell in the house. And lastly, the neighbor behind the property had several dogs which barked constantly....not sure what could be done about that but it was disturbing. But we loved being right on the water and especially enjoyed the porch and outside deck area!

Beautiful property, but…..
The view from the cottage is spectacular! Woke up every morning looking forward to it! That alone made our stay worth it! The cottage itself was also beautiful! There was so much room and furnishings were so nice. We would definitely stay here again. There were, however, some negatives. The screened in porch was pretty dirty-all the woodwork was covered in tiny dead bugs and dirt! Looks like it hadn’t been touched in a long time. The ice maker in the fridge was coated with white powder-totally unusable. Also, it would have been nice if we had been informed that there was construction across the road-every single day! A loud generator ran 24/7! The private beach was very nice but most of it was covered in dead seaweed-would have been nice if it had been raked. We talked to the caretaker once on the phone, but never saw him. All in all, it was beautiful (except for a few things). We loved the location and would definitely rent again!

No reason to leave the property
The most relaxing vacation ever! We spent 90% of our time on the beach….crabs, sting rays, horseshoe crabs, dolphins and fish everywhere. The bottom deck was great for high tide and the beach was literally five steps away at low tide. We would recommend one trip to Crystal River to kayak around the springs and swim with Manatees….other than that….there is nothing worth leaving this awesome place. Our teenage daughter loved kayaking out to the dolphins….they literally swam under her kayak.

Lovely, Secluded Family Vacation Spot
My wife and I had a lovely stay here with our two boys, aged 8 and 5. The house and property were just as described. The house was clean, well-organized, and situated right on the beach. The location was ideal for young children - shallow water that stretches out hundreds of feet; lots of little fish and critters (crabs, sting-rays, etc.), and a state park right next door with a playground and a small burger / hot dog place (surprisingly tasty). The water was crystal clear (great for snorkeling), and the house comes with two kayaks, including a larger one that our whole family could enjoy together. We must have kayaked around the whole island at least 3 times during our stay. The view from the house is amazing, especially at sunset. The beds were comfortable, and the home was well furnished - plenty of towels, kitchen necessities, etc. Scott, the caretaker, was a delight - providing us with recommendations for local activities, sites, and food. Be sure to get fresh stone crab at the Aripeka Crab Company if they are in season! Our boys also loved seeing manatees, a hippo, and alligators at the Homosassa wildlife refuge just up the road on a cloud day. In summary, we had a terrific time during our one-week stay, and would highly recommend this quiet, secluded spot for families looking for a getaway!

Great Stay and Great Times!
We had a wonderful time with my family of 5. We have three boys ranging from 11-17 along with my wife and I. House was very clean and the pictures were accurate. The 2 kayaks and 4 bikes were an awesome addition to keep the kids entertained. Also, the park next door was an added bonus to walk to for ice cream and treats. Lots of good restaurants around the area and plenty of things to do. Out of 7 days in early March, we had temps from 65-89. 65 was the only cool day and we went to town to play mini golf at Congo River which was a lot of fun. We also hired a fishing guide out of Bebout Fishing for a 1/2 day trip and caught plenty of Jack, Grunt, Trout, Mackerel, and a few other species. I highly recommend captain Lowell Bebout! We had a blast and took plenty of fish home! The house was setup with everything you need from kitchen/grill utensils and plenty of propane for the week. Fun to watch the tides come and go as there were plenty of birds, horse-shoe crabs, blue crabs, rays, and several pods of dolphins passing by. We had a great time and love the area especially with only 15 minutes to town to get anything you forgot! Thanks for the great memories!

Tranquil locale
We stayed for two weeks in this house. Everything was represented well on the website photos. Very nicely furnished with a great kitchen. We were looking for a quiet place and this definitely fits the bill! The view from the house is gorgeous and we enjoyed the sunset every evening from our deck. Many different birds in the area and right next door to the park that also has a nice beach area and beautiful views. I would not be comfortable with 6 people in this house. It was perfect for two of us and another two people would be fine. You should realize that this is a remote location and you must drive 10 minutes to get to town for restaurants and supplies. The one restaurant close by is the Bayport Inn (2.4 miles) and they have very good seafood and other offerings.

Tranquility with a view
House is exactly as listed. Bright, tastefully decorated, functional, and “peaceful”. Away from it all but close enough to stores to grab what you forgot. Watching the tide go out was amazing as hundreds of yards of beach with rocks surfacing came into view. It was unfortunately the time of year for the sea grass to come in and it lined the beach up to the sea wall but that did not deter us from taking advantage of the sand that was untouched or sitting in the Adirondacks on the back patio. A short walk (or bike ride) to the park to grab lunch or ice cream. Was exactly what we needed to end a year we all would like to forget.

Private Paradise
Serenity abounds in this private beach paradise. Nature swooped in all around us - bald eagles, dolphins, crabs, pelicans, sting rays, the biggest flocks seagulls I’ve ever seen amazed us, and the “butterfly tree” as I lovingly called it on the property, was filled with at least 50 butterflies a day. It was truly magical. The weather was perfect. The air was fresh and clean. If the house had only been the fabulous screener in porch to watch sunsets on, I would have been happy. But the house was wonderful. It was furnished lovely and the fully equipped kitchen made things easy. The shower had fantastic water pressure and the various jets and glass door made it feel luxurious. My only gripe was that the mattresses were harder than I like. But to stay here I loved it so much I probably would have slept on the floor. I’ll definitely come back one day. Highly recommended.

Amazing!!
Probably the cleanest VRBO we’ve ever stayed in...plus everything was so high end! But the view. The best part is the view. Absolutely stunning sunsets. We hardly left the house the whole week we were there bc of the quiet beauty. And we were enamored with all the marine life and birds. Our sons fished, and our daughter caught crabs in nets. We swam, snorkeled and paddled. LOVED it. The view from the master bedroom is unbelievable.

Lovely Beach Home!
Absolutely beautiful beach house and you cannot beat the views! We saw a ton of ocean wildlife and birds we haven't seen before! There is a park a very short walk away (basically at the end of the road) that sells food and treats. We spent almost every minute of the day outside! Kayaking and biking the island was a treat. Great screened in deck for our small son as well. We hope to return in the future! Have already recommended to family! Amazing ten year anniversary destination for us! A few things we wondered before we booked : 1. Yes, you can see the ocean from the main bedroom! 2. Yes you will encounter other people in the ocean but they typically stay close to the park and weren't a bother at all 3. Stores are near enough to do a short drive to- but you won't want to bother leaving! 4. The island is super small and great for biking! (Inexperienced like us) Can't wait to return!
