Beautiful Mountain Vacation Cabin / 0nly 30 Miles from Boise Id (No Hot Tub)

(No longer A Hot Tub) Enjoy this Comfortable Cabin in it's very private and peaceful Location. Relax or sitting around the Fire pit just like your own private Camping place. Go Trail Hiking in the Boise National Forest right out the Back door of the Cabin.
Whether you Come for a couple of days or a week or two You are sure to enjoy your stay. This place sits on the backside of the Mountain below Bogus Basin Ski Resort, There is No Road Access to Ski Resort during Winter time but there is rest of the year. It is the perfect place to get away and enjoy nature, whether its Just Relaxing, sitting by a Fire pit, Hiking, Riding Atv's or Bikes, Hunting, Fishing , Boating, Jet Skiing, Snowmobiling, Snow Shoeing, Cross Country Skiing, or any other outdoor fun. There is Wifi for those who need Ethernet service. Two Living rooms with T.v's and a Dvd player
This cabin is one of very few Mountain Rentals located in Nature but still close to Boise. It is Perfect for just Relaxing, Romantic Getaways, Family trips also great for Hunters, With Elk, Deer, Wild Turkey's and many more critters. This area of National Forest is only accessible to a very limed amount of people who own property attaching to the Forest Service boundary and you can hike for Miles without seeing another person or just ride your Atv or Bikes just up the gravel Road to Trail ride.
The Cabin has Granite counter tops, High ceiling, A Beautiful Balcony that overlooks the Living Room below. The custom knotty pine and log staircase really gives you a Cabin feeling.
It's sure to make you relax and enjoy your stay. The Master bedroom w/ queen bed and private bathroom is located on the top floor. The main floor has Living Room, Kitchen, Full Bathroom and a Bedroom with Queen bed and closet and front deck has two Tables/w Umbrella and chairs. The walkout basement has a bedroom with two sets of bunk beds, a laundry room, and living room with couch and chairs and T.v. and Stereo. The Fully furnished kitchen has a flat top Stove and Oven, Refrigerator, Convection Microwave, Coffee Maker, Slow Cooker, pots, pans, utensils are all there for your use. Clear Creek Lodge is only 1 mile down the road from Cabin with a Bar and Restaurant for your convenience. (There is a 3/nt Minimum from May-Sept)

Hike in the woods

Place was tucked away in the woods. Was surprised to have neighbors. 2 at end of drive way and a few more around the bend. Had to stay vigilant due to Mountain lion sightings.

Comfortable stay in beautiful forested area

I had a wonderful stay with family coming and going. The weather cooperated for the most part and the cabin was comfortable when it didn't. The location is well back in the forest, and I loved it. Just what I was looking for.

If your looking to get away for a few I would recommend this cabin it's in a really nice location and not to far away from town and it's clean

This beautiful cabin did not disappoint!!!

The scenic drive all the way to the cabin was nothing short of beautiful, the cabin is in a private setting which is perfect for that unplug and unwind kind of vacation!!! There is next to no cell service, but there is a land line for being able to reach out if you need to. The cabin is well furnished and decorated perfectly for a rustic cabin feel!!! We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. You are approximately 30 minutes from Idaho City and approximately an hour from Boise.

Laundry Room Odor

Cabin is great! perfect location was really close to our son. Comfy beds and lots of kitchen stuff. But, we opened the laundry room 1x and it filled the cabin w/ mildew odor. We had to.open it again to .do laundry which we then found the guest before us sheets & towels. Loved our stay but would like the smell gone next time.

Very peaceful

This cabin is set in the woods and has all the amenities we wanted. It was clean and cool. There are trails right out the back door, but you gotta go find them. Once you do, you’re all set. The cabin does have a few quirks- lamps that only function by plugging and unplugging, the down stairs tv is 30 years old and didn’t work, and the deck furniture has seen better days. BUT as I said, it was clean, cool, quiet, and check in was a breeze. I wish I had a couple more days to explore the trails.

Perfect for our needs!

Very nice, quiet cabin in the woods. We needed a quiet escape from the valley noise and this fit our needs perfectly! Literally walked out the back door and into the Boise National Forest. We hope to be back again next year. Owner/manger were responsive and helpful.

Beautiful and just a quick drive out of town

We stayed here for a long weekend. It was just a quick drive, but you wouldn’t know it! Surrounded by forest and wildlife. Had a few elk poking around one evening! The host was friendly and communicative.

Wonderful location if you like beautiful solitude.

So close to Boise, but takes you to 1000 miles from nowhere. Was there in the winter (with strong 4 wheel drive!) and enjoyed the 15+ inches of snow. Great place to decompress and rejuvenate.

Really disappointed, glad to be out

We rented this place as a way to be near enough to visit family in Boise and enjoy woodsy privacy at the same time. Technically that requirement was met, but if we’d had anywhere else to go, we would have left the first night. Unclean bedding, pet hair on the pillow cases, previous renters clothing in the couch cushions, crumbs and debris in the stove pan drawer, no smoke alarms or fire extinguisher, overwhelming smell of toilet bowl cakes and air fresheners (until we put them outside.) There was a planned power outage that we weren’t told about, the landline phone didn’t work without electricity, also no cell signal without the WiFi on so we had to drive down the hill 30 minutes to find out what was going on. Also broken deck furniture, trash under the deck and on the property, and odd things like lamps that didn’t have switches, overcrowded furniture inside and on deck, some worn linens and towels, stained pillows, grimy appliances, partly full bottle of booze on top of fridge… There were good things about the place: quiet, private, wood paneling is gorgeous, nice counters, new stove and fridge, comfortable beds, good heat, but the general feeling was spotty attention to cleanliness and hospitality, no attention to safety. If we’d rented it cheap from a private party, we wouldn’t have been as annoyed, but with the extra fees renting through Vacasa we assumed there was oversight on safety and cleanliness. Apparently not. We had hoped for a relaxing getaway but we ended up just being glad to get away.

Perfect Getaway

We loved our stay at this remote cabin and were pleasantly surprised as we expected something a bit more rustic.. it’s a very cozy comfortable home! Upon arrival it smelled clean and fresh and had everything we needed to get settled in. We made dinner right away and found the kitchen quite functional with the easy to operate stove and the fast hot water. Especially liked the nice big fridge for all our food and drink, and the heater was easy to find and operate and we were warm and comfortable on the chilly nights. Our favorite part was probably the location... so peaceful for a good nights sleep and even an afternoon nap, which we rarely take, and the dogs loved the woods just out the back door. We hiked up to the summit of the ridge with them and they loved it! There is no trail obviously, but we managed to find our way on some old skid roads. TV worked well for the short time we had it on, and the dining nook table was perfect for meals and games. The upper deck was ideal for eating lunch at the table, as well as the swing for watching the squirrels play in the swaying trees. Felt like being in a tree house. We definitely hope to return in the near future. Couple notes when we do we’ll bring our own pillows, zip lock bags foil plastic wrap, some larger plastic bowls for serving/storage and a head lamp or flashlight for the back steps at dark. We did drive down to Idaho City and found it quite charming.. will certainly plan to come back to this area soon.. thank you Rod for sharing your wonderful property with us!

Relaxing getaway

We wanted to take a few days away alone as a family before school started again for our kids. This was a great spot for us. We were bummed about the dry conditions and fire restrictions, but that can’t be helped. It was colder than usual the night we arrived and we were later than we initially planned. Without us asking the cabin owner arranged for the heat to be on when we got there. We really appreciated that. The kitchen has basic supplies but if you are needing something particular to prepare your food then you probably should bring it yourself. We brought cookie racks, a pancake griddle, and a pizza cutter. There were already pots and pans with most utensils that you’d need. My kids all had a wonderful time together and enjoyed their time there. We will consider this property again in the future.

We had such a great time. The directions were perfect! And the cabin was just like the pictures. I was thrilled with the air conditioning! It was a peaceful, happy vacation. We are a family of hunters and fishermen, so the decor was much appreciated. I would love to stay here again! Thank you so much!

Cozy, private cabin surrounded by Ponderosa Pines

Cottage is roomy and well stocked. Property is on a quiet dead end gravel road surrounded by trees. Numerous picturesque creeks are a short drive away. We really enjoyed our stay!

Needs some TLC

While it was convenient to have the linens, towels and kitchen utensils available, overall the property feels neglected and could use a thorough cleaning, to include the appliences, dead bugs in the window sills and black carpenter ants. The fire pit and outside gargage can were full, the wash machine does'nt spin without moving it to a second setting, and the dryer needs two cycles to dry. Garbage in the outhouse (even though we would not have used it) towels and sheets thin and ill fitting. Based on the description and pictures posted online we presummed we would be able to see the ski hill and the creek. I did contact the owner regarding the outside garbage can but did not receive acknowledgment of the message. As a consumer I will be extra diligent in the future.

Out of the way with quite

Really well decorated and peaceful location. We chose to just hang out there but seemed close to climbing and Lucky Peak activities. Good stock of spices in cupboard but I’d highly recommend bringing your own pots and pans.

Hello potential guests, I am Rod the rental owner. I am a good nature kind person who will do everything i can to help make your vacation stay the best experience possible.
I only live a half mile from the rental and my Cabin Keeper lives on the same lane as Cabin so if you have any problems or questions we are close by.

Why they chose this property

I bought and built at this location for many reasons. It is located close to Boise, sits on the National Forest Service Boundary so nothing behind cabin but thousands of acres of nature,wildlife and trails to enjoy with a very limited amount of other people. It is a beautiful location and quiet relaxing setting perfect for a getaway place.

What makes this property unique

I myself am a hunter and also a Atv rider so since the cabin location has both and abundance of wildlife and Atv trails, Creeks and Lake, It is not only beautiful and relaxing it's a Mountain paradise.
