About this property

Stylish, Three Bed Property, Quiet Location, Great Access To Central London

Tastefully decorated three bedroom Victorian property. Situated in a quiet location opposite an allotment this house is not overlooked by any other houses at the front - a unique selling point for a London home!

Sydenham, Lower Sydenham and Penge stations are all in close proximity and travel to London Bridge & Canary Wharf takes 15 mins. Sydenham also has a line straight to Shoreditch so communications are great.

The parks of Dulwich and restaurants and cafes of Dulwich Village and East Dulwich are also a short drive or bus journey away. Sydenham itself has a number of cafes, a gastro pub and a couple of good Italian restaurants.

The house was renovated a few years ago so everything is in good condition and in working order. All the appliances were purchased new two years ago.

The kitchen has a large gas 7 hob range cooker and an extending table to seat 4-8. The kitchen is very very well equipped with Dualit appliances and, a Magimix and a KitchenAid. There is ample storage space and plenty of plateware, glassware and serving and cooking items for entertaining. There is also a Siemens dishwasher, Samsung Washer/Dryer and a Zanussi tall fridge freezer a separate drinks fridge and a small TV in the kitchen. The floor is slate and the décor is stylishly low key. There is a small downstairs loo that is situated under the stairs.

There are two doors leading from the kitchen into patio area, due to Covid and working from home, a garden studio was built which is used as storage when guests are using the house. As it’s a small area, a small seating area has been created. For more space there is a park a 3 minute walk from the house with an open air gym if there’s anyone that needs a run around!

The sitting room is a large double reception room and has two 3-seater sofas plus a small single chair that pulls out to an extra bed if necessary. A flat screen Smart TV with a DVD installed is also in the sitting room. There is also a working fireplace.

Upstairs there is a split level landing, the rear bedroom (#3) overlooking the garden is currently a single childs bedroom and has a desk and a large wardrobe with two outside windows it is a lovely light room. The bed has an additional under bed truckle that pulls out to create another single bed.

The main bathroom is plain in decor with a shower and bath, its a large room so a perfect family bathroom.

The second bedroom has a double bed and wall to wall wardrobes, this room also has a flat screen TV.

The main bedroom is large and bright at the front of the house & is a lovely light, bright room. There is a great deal of storage space with wall to wall/ceiling to floor fitted wardrobes along one wall. The bed is king size and there is a small flatscreen TV a 'film star' dressing table, bedside tables and a separate shoe cupboard.

The house is operated on gas central heating and is in a lovely location close to Central London, the City and also to the surrounding countryside of Surrey and Sussex and Gatwick is only a 45 min drive away.

Great place to stay while exploring London!
We loved the trip and our stay. Our daughter read several books and there were many more. At night we chilled with netflix. The kitchen has all you need. With children was the trip to the station a 20 minute walk. Plenty supermarkets near by. We loved it!

Lower Sydenham Fairlawn Park
The house is nice and well equipped. The distance to public transport is acceptable although it could be closer. There is a housing estate on the way to Lower Sydenham Station which is uncomfortable and not recommended at night time. Otherwise, Fairlawn Park felt quite safe.

Perfect for Exploring London
We were really pleased with this house. It's bigger than it looks in the photos and was clean, stylish and well equipped. The location is excellent, a quiet, peaceful street that's just a few minutes from shops, pubs and restaurants. There's loads of space for parking at the house. There are lots of transport options to take you quickly into central London, including two train stations within easy walking distance that connect to the underground. We went all over the city, north, south, east and west, with no trouble at all. Communication with Amanda was excellent and we wouldn't hesitate to book this house again next time we come to London. We had a lovely time and are missing it already!

Erwartung voll erfüllt
Wir waren im August 2022 mit 2 Erwachsenen und 3 Kindern für elf Tage in London. Das Haus ist ca. 1km vom Bahnhof Sydenham entfernt. Ab dort fahren die Züge im 5 bis 10 Minuten Takt nach London Brigde oder Canada Water (jeweils ca. 20 Min.) von wo aus man auf das U-Bahn-System umsteigen und alle Ecken der Stadt erkunden kann. Für die Lauffaulen gibt es auch in 150m Entfernung eine Bushaltestelle mit Anbindung zum Bahnhof. Das Haus ist ein typisch englisches Reihenhaus (mit Harry Potter Kammer unter der Treppe) und liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße. Es ist hervorragend ausgestattet (was daran liegt, dass Amanda das Haus wohl zeitweise selbst bewohnt) und sehr sauber. Die Einrichtung ist stilsicher und entspricht den Fotos. Parkplätze sind immer problemlos vor der Tür zu finden. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Lidl und Tesco) sowie Pubs und Imbissbuden können fußläufig erreicht werden. Amanda ist eine kommunikative, fürsorgliche Gastgeberin, die uns den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm gemacht hat. Sollte uns eine Reise wieder einmal nach London führen, würden wir jederzeit wieder dort wohnen wollen.

Tolle Familienunterkunft in London
Wir waren sehr glücklich mit unserer Unterkunft für unsere Woche in London. Das Haus liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend. Das Viertel bietet Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und nette Restaurants in der Nähe, die Besitzerin hat uns eine Liste mit vielen guten Tips und Beschreibungen übergeben. Die Beschreibung des Objektes/ Fotos passt genau. Es ist alles vorhanden, von Toilettenpapier bis zu Waschpulver für die Waschmaschine, eine umfassende Küchenausstattung, Badetücher, Fön, Adapter.... und unsere Kinder waren besonders glücklich über die Medien, von Netflix bis Wii, Bildschirme in jedem Zimmer (zum Glück hatten sie eher wenig Zeit, diese zu nutzen). Für mich war dagegen die heiße Dusche ein Traum. Das Haus ist stylisch eingerichtet, sehr geräumig für 4 Personen und wie gesagt bestestens ausgestattet. Die Vermieterin ist sehr herzlich und extrem bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen (sorry, Amanda, dass wir keine Extra-Wünsche oder Fragen hatten, es war alles bestens vorbereitet! Thanks!!). Wir haben die Vermieterin zwar nicht persönlich kennengelernt, aber der Mail-Kontakt klappte hervorragend. Danke auch für Wein und Shortbread zur Begrüßung! Und für die Oystercards, die wir benutzen durften, das war prima, wir hatten nämlich nur zwei und mussten so keine weiteren kaufen. Es ist wirklich an alles gedacht in diesem Haus. Wir empfehlen es wärmstens weiter!!!!! Ohne jedes "wenn" und "aber", ebenso die Trattoria Raffaele im Viertel, wo wir zweimal herrlich gegessen haben. Es gibt zwei Bahnhöfe in fußläufiger Entfernung (10 - 15 Min.) und mit der App von London Transports sind wir gut durch London gekommen. Die Fahrt in die City dauert ca. 30 Minuten, je nachdem wohin man will, auch etwas mehr. Aber für uns war das OK. Das Haus war es wert! Wir können die Vorabbuchungen der Sehenswürdigkeiten per Internet empfehlen, da spart man wenigstens ein bisschen, London ist trotz des derzeit guten Wechselkurses und der eintrittsfreien Museen ein teueres Pflaster. Für Familien empfehlen wir auch einen Tag in den Harry Potter Filmstudios (zwingend vorab buchen) und eine Stunde beim Spielzeugladen Hamleys (gigantisch). Und wer nicht immer Pizza oder Pommes mag, sollte mal die schönen Pubs ausprobieren. Wir hatten damit immer Glück. Thank you very much, Amanda!

Sehr schöne Unterkunft
Haben dieses Haus über fünf Wochen gemietet. Wir (ich und drei Klassenkameradinnen) waren von der Schule aus in London. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Dazu ist die Mieterin super freundlich. Guter Anschluss an die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel und das Zentrum, überall gibt es Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Lebensmittel). Können es nur empfehlen das Haus zu mieten.

I am a single mum with two children, our house has been a joy to live in! It's a great location which is ideal for getting to central London and/or the south coast (we often drive to Brighton for a day out!). My partner lives in the States so we travel quite regularly for a few weeks at a time and want to rent the house out so that it is lived in.

Why they chose this property

This area is great for getting into central London and we’ll located to get to the south coast. The house is very quiet with lots of free parking.

What makes this property unique

The house is great for kids and entertaining, as a keen cook the kitchen is extremely well equipped with lots of gadgets! There isn't any grass in the garden however but there is a large park just around the corner that the kids play football on and there is a huge wooden house like climbing frame.
Being in London the house is unique as it isn't overlooked by any other property as it is in a cul de sac type road, opposite an allotment so is really quiet and yet so close to the action if required!
