Casa Los Griegos near Old Town, Bosque, Los Poblanos and Los Ranchos
My vacation home is a full-time dedicated home, I don’t live in it but it was created as a separate property and shares a private road with our backyard and my neighbor who is a renown bronze monument sculptor artist. The whole property is a very serendipitous arrangement. You will feel the warmth the minute you arrive and feel as though you were meant to be there. Being located in the north valley of albuquerque inserts you into former farmland and because we are close to the Rio Grande river you will frequently see hot air balloons flying on most mornings just before or after sunrise so be sure to make a cup of coffee and walk up the stairs located 40 feet from your front door and up to the Sky Deck to watch the balloons and in the evening grab a glass of wine to go back up on the deck to watch our unbeatable sunsets. Take a walk past Our Lady of Guadalupe Church located behind the property to have lunch breakfast or dinner at Flying Star Cafe 12 minutes to the north. That funky looking building in the photos is the chicken coop so feel free to grab fresh eggs.

The house and fenced in yard were phenomenal and we couldn't have asked for more! David was great to work with and if we needed anything at all, he was there to help and very quickly! We plan on staying here again when we go back to Albuquerque.
This was the perfect place for our family to spend the holidays…good room for us in the living area and dining. Close to places we wanted to go. It was also great to go up on the deck and see the Sandias at sunset.
I rented this property for myself, sister, our parents and their dog. It was a wonderful experience during the Christmas holiday, and David was an excellent host. We all recommend this rental house!
The house was lovely and the beds super comfortable!! Very quiet neighborhood. Watch your step in the garage if you do laundry. Otherwise perfect home to have a vacation with friends or family.
Secure and convenient, great for our dogs and owner nearby.
Perfect for us! The "Valley" as it is known in Albuquerque presents itself as "old ABQ" ....(This ain't the suburbs). Small AG and horse properties, large "McMansions" and less attractive properties intermingled. BUT.... Do not let this sway you! The VRBO is near to Old-Town and offers local, less-expensive dining options, local flavor and easy access to the city. Will stay here again.
The property was as described. Very quiet neighborhood with great views of the Sandia mountains to the East in the am and magnificent sunsets as the Sun disappeared on the horizon to the West. Blue skies you don't see in every locale. David is a great host and responded within 10-15 minutes anytime we had a question. Highly recommend this property for your visit to Albuquerque. Best Mexican food anywhere. Check with David for recommendations. A very relaxing stay, would definitely book it again.

Really great stay, with one minor suggestion...
We enjoyed this spacious house complete with garage and private fenced-in patio & back yard. Although in a residential area, it was very quiet. Enjoyed watching balloons aloft each calm morning. Perfect location for walkers/hikers; owners left directions to two walking areas as well as restaurant suggestions. Easy access to Old Albuquerque, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Petroglyph National Monument, and just a few blocks from I-40. If you visit before July 29, 2018, don't miss the traveling exhibit da Vinci the Genius at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. We like having rental property owners living nearby, but sometimes they can be intrusive. Not in this rental. David and Pam were perfect hosts; allowed us our space, but quick to correct a minor TV issue. Pam delivered fresh eggs from the "girls," their chickens on the property - yum! Oh, yes, that one minor suggestion? Provide more flatware. There were only 2 of us, but if there had been four there would not have been enough settings. One of the kitchen cabinets was unusable, too dirty, and the countertop required a scrubbing. We were so satisfied with everything else about the property we did not mind those small glitches. We would stay here again.
We had a great stay here during Balloonfiesta. We were a group of moms and daughters. The deck outside was great for sunset and sunrise and balloon viewing. Great location. Some homes don't have a great flow. This one does. We often ended up together in the living room, around the kitchen table, or on the outside deck. Loved it!
This house was perfect for our family of four! We didn't trip over each other like in other rentals and we were only a 15 minute drive from Old Downtown Albuquerque (which we went to a few times). Getting fresh eggs was a nice little bonus, even if it was only one a day. Of course bugs got in, but we were right up against an empty lot, we just had to make sure our puppy didn't try to eat them lol. Hubby and I highly recommend trying out the Indian Pueblo Kitchen too!
Thoroughly enjoyed our quick stay at this property. Our kids loved saying hello to the chickens. We grabbed two fresh eggs on our first morning. The view of the sunrise and hot air balloons from the rooftop deck was fantastic. Lots of nice touches, like fans, USB ports in bedside lamps, and nightlights in the bathrooms. Great location for sightseeing, too. We would stay here again!
Property was just as advertised. Conveniently located, quiet, and very comfortable for a group of adults. Had everything we needed and no problems at all. Would stay there again.
Beautiful property in a compound but very private. Very well appointed. Outside gas fire pit and deck for viewing sunrises, sunsets and hot air balloons Sublime. We loved our mini retreat. Host extremely responsive.
The house is so great. A fun place to stay and relax. The fire pit and grill and outdoor table were well used. There is a chicken coop out back to have fresh eggs every morning! The sky deck has a beautiful 360 view. On vacation so the well equipped gym was not used! I would recommend this property highly and will stay here again.
Check in process is simple and the house has all the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay in Albuquerque. House was clean and the chickens in the back are a plus. Will definitely book again when I’m back in Albuquerque
I stayed there as an ending to an elopement road trip & ended up actually have the vows ceremony at the house instead! Very cute home, very roomy, up to date appliances— the sky deck was perfect for a little get together and you can see air balloons in the morning and afternoons! There were a few miscommunications over parking and trash location but was figured out quickly.

About the host
Hosted by David Danemann
I am a native to Albuquerque, born and raised here, I have had and still have many interests/careers. I wear many hats on a daily basis from being a Property Manager/Realtor to a Private Investigator. My interests range from Watersports to Welding. I suffered a stroke when I was 21 years of age that shaped my life from that point on.
Why they chose this property
I purchased the home adjacent to the vacation home in 2006. It was intended to be a remodel for resale however the market took a turn causing the home to become a rental. After a few years of renting the home we live in I decided to move from a different home into this one. In 2012 I bought the vacation home in case my aging mother wanted to live in it. It was a rental home at that time. The vacation home was originally built as a Mother-in-Law house as it sits behind two homes, one being my home and the other being my sculptor neighbor. Moving into the home we reside in was a great decision as we have wonderful neighbors, it is quiet and it feels like this is where we belong.
What makes this property unique
Being close to the Rio Grande River we have birds at certain times of the year flying overhead and the Hot Air Balloons fly over the river almost every morning so the Sky Deck which is 16 feet high provides a great morning view of the balloons.
