Small village located between the Serra de Sintra and the sea, known as the "Aldeia do Espírito Santo" due to the traditional Empire celebrations.
Located 8 km from Sintra, the most beautiful and romantic village in Portugal, full of myths and legends in all corners and monuments.
Village chosen by kings and writers, in search of inspiration, mystery and privacy.
Surrounded by beautiful beaches, restaurants and monuments that will make your stay more pleasant.

The village of Penedo is a small village that belongs to the parish of Colares and the municipality of Sintra.
It is located 8 km from Sintra, 11 km from Cascais and 20 km from Lisbon (approx.).
A modest, friendly village that knows how to welcome those who pass by, being the ideal place to spend a few peaceful days, being able to discover the essentials of the Serra de Sintra on foot.

This house is located in the center of the village, next to a beautiful chapel (Stº. António) that dates back to the end of the century. XVI - beginning of the century. XVII, with beautiful tiles, rich in history and tradition.
In front of the church, the bandstand off which the village grew and down the sidewalk, a fountain and a cross.
At 50m you will find a nice restaurant, crude, known for its wonderful grills and characteristic drinks; a family café, where you can spend good moments of leisure and socializing and a grocery store where you can stock up on what you need most.

The house is, as you can see, a cozy house with a bedroom, a bathroom, a common kitchen with a living room (equipped with a “salamander” for cold winter days) and a magnificent outdoor space, with a unique landscape where you can be dazzled by the view of the sea and the other villages in the parish.
It has an outdoor leisure area, where you can make your grills, admiring all this landscape, have your breakfast while enjoying a good book, or have lunch enjoying the sun, or dinner admiring the stars.
Cozy in winter, where you can escape a little bit of everyday life and 3 km from the beach (approx.), To cool off on the hottest summer days.

Um überhaupt etwas positives schreiben zu können, die Unterkunft punktet nur durch den tollen Blick auf das Meer. Von vier gebuchten Übernachtungen sind wir eine Nacht geblieben.

The most beautiful cottage
This was the most amazing place we have stayed. We loved the village of Penado so much that we rented a house there and will be living there in the near future. The host was great and always just a phone call away. If your going to Portugal, I would highly recommend this house. The road up to the village was challenging and so worth it. Thank you Ligia.

Von den gebuchten (und bezahlten) 13 Nächten konnten wir wegen einer starken Schimmelbelastung leider nur eine Nacht bleiben. Die Unterkunft entspricht ansonsten der Beschreibung und bietet einen phantastischen Ausblick Richtung Meer. Meine Frau hatte allerdings nachts asthmatische Anfälle und starke Atemnot. Auch ich selbst habe auf die Belastung mit Schimmelsporen reagiert. Eine Kontaktaufnahme mit FeWo-direkt ist nur sehr eingeschränkt möglich. Telefonate brachen mehrfach abrupt ab, über die Chat-Funktion wird das Problem nicht richtig erfasst, eine Mail-Kontaktadresse gibt es nicht. Es gibt keinerlei Lösungsvorschläge. Eine versprochene Rückmeldung ist einfach nicht erfolgt. Es entsteht der Eindruck, dass die Kontaktmöglichkeiten nur zum Abwimmeln dienen. Wir haben dadurch knapp 700 Euro in den Sand gesetzt. Es mutet deutlich kafkaesk an. Auch der Vermieter erreicht seine Agentur nicht (ein anderer Anbieter) und sagt, dass er nur für die erste Nacht eine Bezahlung erhalten hat.

Leuk huisje met prachtig uitzicht.
Ons verblijf was goed, wel bij aankomst slechte communicatie met verhuurster. Werd niet gereageerd op onze berichten hadden dus geen idee hoe we moesten inchecken. Uiteindelijk bij het buurtcafe gevraagd, daar verwezen naar "opa" met de sleutel. Het dorpje is fantastisch met zeer aardige mensen, vooral de uitbater van het dorpscafe.

Paradise in Penedo
Fantastic view and property. Road up to Penedo is narrow and winding which is why I gave location a 4. Might not be an easy drive for the faint of heart. It is a pretty drive tho and a bit thrilling. Just try to avoid it when its around 5pm and when the sun is going down as hard to see when coming up the hill. Checkin smooth, host very helpful and lives beside the property. Parking is in the church yard and we had no trouble finding a spot. The cottage is modern and bright. We loved our stay and the gorgeous view and sunsets. Colares is the town below and is a quaint pretty spot with two grocery mercados. Trudy Canada

Wonderful location, quiet, an absolutely amazing view, well stocked and a great host. Would totally recommend this to anyone and hopefully return for another stay. LOVED IT! :)

Super Ausblick von der Terasse
Das Häuschen liegt im Grundstück der Eigentümer am Hang Richtung Nordwesen mit einem traumhaften Blick bis zum Meer. Für zwei Personen gut ausgestattet mit netten Sitzgelegenheiten und ausreichender Küchenausstattung zum Selbstversorgen. Die Zufahrt in dieser Gegend erfolgt über enge Straßen durch die umliegenden Dörfer. Parkplätze gibt es am Platz vor der Kirche. Kann zeitweise auch mal eng werden, wir haben aber immer einen Parkplatz bekommen. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war problemlos auf Englisch. Die Schlüsselübergabe mit dem Vater, der gleich oben am Kirchplatz wohnt hat gut geklappt. Wir waren drei Tage und fanden die Unterkunft zum Besuch Sintra, Cabo da Roca und Praia da Ursa sehr schön.

The reservation process was seamless as well as the check-out. The host was very kind and available when I had questions or needed something. I was on my own without a vehicle which made it challenging. If you have your own transportation great. The location is perfect to drive to the surrounding areas (Colares, Sintra, Cascais, etc.). If you enjoy tranquility and mountain top views this is for you. Enjoy!

Schöne Terrasse, jedoch fehlt etwas Liebe zum Detail
Die Lage und die kleine Gartenhütte sind toll! Leider waren die Wände etwas feucht (Bad) und es fehlt etwas Liebe zum Detail. Die wunderschöne Terrasse könnte man mit bequemen Stühlen versehen, die Ausstattung in der Küche könnte etwas besser sein usw. Dennoch ein sehr schöner Ort!

Lovely and quaint
This location is one of a kind and although we were not lucky enough to see the sea as it was super foggy the days we were there, the remote location, the quaintness of the town and the comfort of the bungalow, provided us the perfect trip to the area. The local Cafe and fresh water fountain added some local culture and convenience. I would recommend bringing some food to make breakfast and some bottles of wine. We started a fire, played cards and enjoyed the few nights without WiFi. I would arrange a specific time to meet to pick up the key. We thought we would be able to call/text the host when we arrived but were unable to because of our service, which made this process a bit trickier than it perhaps needed to be if we had a contingency plan. Located near the Palace of Pena, Castle of the Moors and Quinta da Regalera and our personal favorite, Praia da Ursa - an amazing hike down to a small secluded beach. We had a wonderful stay!
