Stay in the quaint purple house originally occupied by the local cobbler and meticulously restored and maintained as a private residence for decades that is now available for a limited number of guests throughout the year. Inside you will find a lovely home with a full kitchen and dining area, living room with bay window and extremely comfortable queen sleeper sofa, bathroom and dressing room. There is free wifi and a smart tv for streaming. Head up the original curved stairway to the second floor and find your bedroom - a cozy haven with organic hybrid mattresses that can be configured into 2 Twin XL beds for friends getaways or 1 King for couples depending on guest preference. At night open the two small windows beside the bed and let the powerful and soothing sound of French Creek put you into a state of deep relaxation. Hold the handrail and feel the history on the way down 7 steps to the 125+ year old basement to find a full laundry and a claw foot tub for a relaxing soak where you can get lost in another time. The best feature of the house though is the amazing deck out back that overlooks the creek and woods. Depending on the time of day and year you will have a much envied spot to view either the folks enjoying the boulder studded creek or to just relax in total peace while immersed in mother nature. Walk out the front door and enjoy village life and step out back to enjoy nature - truly the best of both worlds.
The Village is mostly closed and quiet on Monday and Tuesday and can get quite busy on summer weekends. Every season has its own beauty in this magical place. The Village is home to some fantastic places including an incredible Bakery with delicious coffee and scratch kitchen and huge deck overlooking the rushing creek, Antique Pinball Arcade, Ice Cream Parlor, Antique Shop, Gift Shop and Healing Arts Studio, Historic Inn with Restaurant & Bar, as well as home to some amazing crafts people including a woodworker, blacksmith and glassblower.
