Why they chose this property
We love Honaunau Bay and spent a lot of time here before moving to the neighborhood. This is one of the bests and safest snorkeling bays on the Big Island. It has a white sand beach for children and sun bathing, watch out for the big sea turtle that hangs around the boat ramp. It’s a short walk to the City of Refuge, National Park and cultural center. We really like snorkeling in the bay, hanging out at the picnic table playing games or ukulele with the locals. It’s just a short walk to pull our kayaks down to the boat ramp for a paddle. There’s great fishing right around the corner. We just could t ask for a better place to call home.
We’re proud that our home is eco-friendly and off grid.
I think we have some of the best weather in the country and the air is so fresh.
Honaunau Bay is awesome. The clear ocean water, two-step, amazing wildlife, kind neighbors, a white sand beach, lava tide pools and the National Park all draw us to this place. We live with an attitude of gratitude and appreciation for how fortunate we are to be here.
We try not to always me respectful of the land, the locals and the sea life.

What makes this property unique
Its amazing to watch the dolphins and whales frolic in the bay from the comfort of the house. It’s so nice to be able to walk across to street and snorkel, then come home, shower in the outdoor bathhouse and relax on the lanai. You’ll be out of the sun and away from the tourists in a setting that feels very private. It’s really nice that everyone can do what they like here, no need to pack up and drive anywhere.
Save the expense of parking or the boat ride to get to the bay.
Park in the driveway and snorkel out there at your leisure.
We leave several sets of snorkel gear for guests to use.
Our home has large lanais and a second outdoor cooking area with a chest freezer.
It’s well appointed with comfortable beds, tropical art and the comforts of home.
This is a true Hawaiian experience in an amazing location. Perfect for adventurous guests that want to enjoy the water.
