We had a great stay and the house was as advertised. Great location, clean, and great amenities. Very nice that they had beach chairs, wagon, and other miscellaneous items.
House is spacious and kitchen is well stocked. It was super nice to have a gas grill too! Not far from restaurants and a short walk in to the beach. It was a great family vacation spot and we'd go back for sure.
We stayed in the property for a quick last minute getaway. Pathway to beach nice, peaceful and easy to cross over road to get to beach side. Property well-equipped including bikes and chairs for beach! Owner available for local area assistance which was helpful in our planning.
The house is better than the pictures! It's huge with room for family gathering but also for alone time. Perfect location near the beach and stores. Thomas was great and was available in a timely way to texts. We all would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you Thomas!
If you are looking for a SUPER clean, nicely decorated home with a well stocked kitchen, a short walk to the beach, and great communication with the home owner, this is the place for your family! By far this house has the best kitchen and dining area out of any house we have ever stayed in! The dishes and pot and pans were actually all nice enough to have in your own home! There were also many 'extras' in the kitchen like a crockpot and large griddle that you won't find in other homes. We loved the short cleared path through the woods to the beach and also the 'extras' for your beach day like chairs, umbrella, and even a wagon. And last but not least, the owner was amazing! He was very quick to respond to any questions and requests and did everything to make sure we enjoyed our stay at his home!
The property is better than the pictures! The rooms are big and the living room/ kitchen is beautiful, tidy and much bigger than expected! The path to the beach was my favorite part… Like something from a book.
This beautiful home is a perfect beach vacation. Beautiful wooded path to the beach, lot feels secluded, quiet family feel to area. The bikes were put to lots of use by the “kids” (ages 17-25) as well as the boogie boards and chairs. The bedrooms are so comfortable and soothing, and coffee on the deck each morning can’t be beat! There’s a hot tub and plenty of room to relax with the people you most want to vacation with. The owners take great pride in their home and we were blessed to be allowed to share it!
Lots of space to enjoy and relax. Loved the hot tub, the jetted garden tub in the master bath, the volleyball court out back, the private outdoor shower with hot & cold water, the pretty wooded walk to the beach, the 3 full baths, the 2 decks and 2 porches, the close proximity to the ocean, Duck Donuts, thrift store, 3 grocery stores. Would gladly rent again!
My extended family all went to Outer Banks for the first time and loved staying in this house. We could easily walk to the beach for swimming or a sunrise walk, and it was centrally located amongst of all the attractions we wanted to drive to. The house itself is well kept and contained everything we could have wanted for an enjoyable stay.
The house was very clean, which is very important to us. The main living area and kitchen were nicely appointed. Beds were comfortable. You can tell that the owners themselves use this vacation property. While not fully updated, the cleanliness, short walk to the beach, comfortable living area, and outstanding location (close to grocery store, short drive to Duck, and quiet neighborhood) more than make up for it. We would definitely rent this property again and had a fantastic time.
Beautiful home, Great Communication, Specific Rules
The pictures online didn't do this home justice; it was more beautiful in person. The communication with the owner was very personal - several phone calls during booking process and someone met us at the property to let us in, which in my experience is unusual for VRBO. The rules were very specific, which made my guests felt like they were walking on eggshells at times (photos of where things were to be put back into place, etc.) but as long as you clean up after yourself and leave the house like you left it I think you'll be fine. It was a pain having to bring our own sheets and towels, never had to do that before, but from what I'm learning it's common because of covid. All kitchen utensils were available for use, as well as some condiments in fridge. The walk to the beach was beautiful. You do have to cross over a main road, but it takes a second. We got married this weekend and had our friends and family stay at the house. We took beautiful photos in the woods on the day after the wedding. The beach was almost empty and peaceful. The owner let us do a late checkout and was flexible with other things when we asked. I would stay here again.
The past 2 years we weren't able to book this property after having stayed in 2018. We were super excited to come back. The walk to the beach is very short (even carrying beach gear - no problem). The house is VERY clean, which is important to us when we want to relax on vacation. Very secluded and quiet. Great location btwn Duck and Kitty Hawk. The beach is wonderful - not crowded at all. And, as we had recalled from 2018, Thomas is very attentive and helpful. Everything went great. So glad we returned.
Very clean and homey. Great location. The walk to the beach through the path in the woods was charming and so convenient. Owners are responsive and generous.
This vacation house was wonderful for my family. Easy access to all activities and the beach access was wonderful. Will definitely be staying here again
We loved the short walk to the beach while being tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with trees. Great place to ride the bikes too. The house layout was so fun for our family with plenty of space and an amazing dining room table. We ate all our dinners at the house! Overall a great visit and gem of a beach house! Owner very communicative and accommodating.
Warm Family Home In Convenient, But Quiet Location
We stayed at The Point of No Return in connection with a family wedding nearby. It is clearly a family home with nice personal touches, and that is a good thing. It was fun to stay here, everyone liked it, and it felt more like a home than a rental. The kitchen was modern and well-equipped.
This house is in a wooded established neighborhood, but was still only an easy 3-5 minute walk to the beach. One of our party likened the house to staying in a treehouse, which gives you a sense of the feel. The house is also only about 2 miles from three grocery stores (Food Lion, Harris-Teeter, Wal-mart) and it’s easy to get there by uncrowded back streets.
The communication was excellent throughout the process.
The house was just as wonderful as pictured. It was perfectly situated for Outer Banks fun. Our favorite part was the trail to the beach. It was like something out of a fairy tale.
Great house--the path to the beach was super convenient, and having the property set back a bit from the beach meant that there was more of nature to appreciate in the back. The house itself was clean and well cared-for, even though it has a few years on it. The beds were comfortable (we didn't use the linen service, and brought our own sheets... should have brought towels too!), and the kitchen was reasonably well-equipped for a vacation rental. Tommy did a great job talking us through the house features, and the whole weekend went smoothly.
