About this property

San Blas Islands Private Over Ocean Cabin +Tour +Meals --- NEW ISLAND MANAGEMENT

San Blas is one of the last pristine island archipelagos in this world with an indigenous Guna population that to this day still lives in a very simple and happy way. We are offering an amazing experience in San Blas + complimentary Day Trip allowing our guests a glimpse of paradise and being able to visit other islands.

This island is located in the Lemon Keys and just a 30 minute boat ride from the port, has the most comfortable cabins in San Blas. Close by are some of the most visited attractions, such as the Natural Pools and a shipwreck right off the beach, perfect for snorkeling. The private cabins feature fans over each bed, private toilets and showers.

These cabins are the most comfortable cabins in San Blas with direct access to the ocean.

While the islands are basic and the Gunas can be shy, if you open your heart and mind to the unspoiled and undeveloped beauties of San Blas, you will experience one of the last paradises on earth.

Listing info is a folly (lie)!
We received sand flea bites the minute we got out of the boat. A small short haired dog ran out of our room when the door was first opened. Door hinge bottom pin was missing so it sort of didn't open well, no lock on the door. No electricity, no running water. Room had two beds with soiled linens (the dog had been on one of them, evidenced by the sand on the sheet. The room was dirty, at best! If there was no water (and no HOT water), how sanitary could the food prep be? We contacted VRBO via text and they moved us to another Island. But, not before my wife received approximately 100+ bites on her body, me, not so many but I have hair on my legs and chest which protected me. The new Island lodging was better, but because the room was open to the outside (no air-conditioning) there were lizards in the room. My wife and I saw them crawling on our luggage, water bottles and exposed clothing. She freaked out and had trouble sleeping as she saw two on the bed as well. This isn't rustic, this is substandard accommodations. What that tells me is the locals here are living in the same squalor, as they accept this standard for well paying guests? Not even to mention food handling. Scary!

Captain Michael and Paola, who have been sailing the world and in search for the most exotic places and exciting experiences have found this little paradise. During their sailing adventures in San Blas, the dynamic couple has made friends with the Kuna and is helping them advertise their beautiful cabins and islands. We would love to invite you to join them explore this paradise, snorkeling the colorful reefs, meeting the interesting Kuna culture and relaxing on pristine, white sand beaches. You will discover a new adventure that only few will ever experience.

Why they chose this property

Wailidup island has some of the most beautiful over-the-water cabins in San Blas. With newly built cabins, guests enjoy panoramic views and direct access to the ocean from their private balconies. Enjoy fresh, tasty meals cooked by our favorite Kuna chef, relax under the shade of a palm tree or explore the small island, which hosts a friendly Kuna family.

What makes this property unique

Wailidup island is in the center of the famous Lemon Cays, with several smaller islands close-by. The water is balmy and shallow and invites you to spend most of the day, swimming or snorkeling. We also include a San Blas Day tour with the price of this cabin, giving you the opportunity to visit the amazing Natural Pools and Isla Perro, famous for its spectacular sunken shipwreck right off its white sand beach.
