Stay just blocks from Downtown Colorado Springs in this newly remodeled hideaway. Plenty of restaurants, breweries, bars, all within walking distance OR hop on the cruiser bikes and travel all over the city. Perfect for a couple, or small family. Couch can fold out into a Queen so would work for 4 adults but would be tight. The house is over 100 years old so access stairway is narrow and steep. Owners are Colorado Springs locals and live close by. This is a multi unit house so there are other units and tenants, the space is private with it's own bathroom, kitchen and bedroom.

Great Stay!

The Grotto was super convenient to walking to the arena at Colorado College where we were watching a sports event and also to the shops/restaurants downtown. Lovely place, very clean, and everything we could have possibly needed was provided!

The Place to Stay in Colorado Springs

The wife and I found Grotto on St. Vrain a very nice clean place to stay in Colorado Springs. It has all the necessary amenities of home (only need to bring food and clothing). The location is great, loved the short walk to downtown. We plan to stay again next year.

Clean and Convenient

Loved our stay here! Perfect size for 2 people and an easy walk to downtown. Having the easy parking was nice. The space is stocked with everything you may need during the trip. The neighborhood is quiet but there are other residents in the building, so if you're a light sleeper, just know that you can sometimes hearing folks walk around upstairs or run the laundry. Overall very peaceful.

St. Vrain Grotto

Super cute place in a great location close to downtown. The only thing I would say in a negative light, would be that the hide-a-bed does not sleep 2, does not actually have a mattress, and is not comfortable. But other than that it was enjoyable and stocked and within walking distance of many stores, churches, and the YMCA!

Don’t judge based on the outside.

The outside of the property was a little sketchy. However, as soon as you get in, it is beautiful. Best VRBO property I have stayed at in Colorado at this price.

Cute little place! Very sweet hosts

The space and hosts are fantastic, only unfortunate part is that you are right next to the laundry room for the building and someone was doing their laundry past midnight and the buzzer for the dryer kept waking us up. Also, whoever lives right above is up very late and you heard every footsteps so we didn't sleep well as we are both light sleepers, but the actual space is adorable and well taken care of with extra things incase you forgot something. Super clean and close to lots of food!

Girls getaway!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This rental was clean and well taken care of. When it was renovated, everything was well thought out. Multiple light switches to be accessible from each entrance. Cute layout which gives an incredible amount of space. You can tell the owner takes great pride in their rental by taking care of all the little details ensuring you have a relaxed stay. Night lights, usb outlets, extra phone chargers and so many other things! Did not disappoint. Everything worked as should. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Close to a lot of cute restaurants and bars within walking distance.

St. Vrain Grotto

My husband and I were in Colorado Springs for a wedding and decided to extend our trip. We found this place to spend an additional 5 days in the area. Super cute and is everything as advertised and even more. Had everything you can think of. An oversight on my part was that it did not have air-conditioning; however, I found a fan which was super helpful. The place stays fairly cool since it is in the basement. Close to downtown and within walking distance to restaurants and breweries. We had a dedicated parking space which was great even though there was plenty of on-street parking. The house is shared with other tenants so you will hear movement from above, whether it be footsteps, movement through the plumbing pipes, which are exposed overhead in the basement, or the use of the laundry facilities that are right outside of the bedroom door. I did meet two of the tenants and they were super nice. The only downside we did have were some internet connectivity issues for the smart TV several times during our stay. The owner did a great job on the layout and decorating of the place and is a perfect space for a couple. I would stay here again.

The house had enormous amount of space in it, along with many amenities. It was easy to find and plenty of parking when we arrived. Beautiful, yet entertaining scenery from the rear porch.

I had a great stay there last week. They had everything you could need. Looks are deceiving. The outside looks a little drab but it’s absolutely adorable inside. The laundry room is right outside your bedroom so very convenient. Overall great little hideaway.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights on our vacation through Colorado Springs. The property was in walking distance from downtown shops/restaurants, was very clean, stocked with everything you may need to cook a meal, and felt like a home away from home. It was also nice to have accessible laundry from our hikes in the mountains! Only complaint is that if you’re a light sleeper, you may hear the people above you most of the night. Overall, the owners have done a beautiful job with the place and welcoming us in! We would definitely come again.

Colorado Springs at the Grotto on St. Vrain

Our place was perfectly located for a walk downtown and easy driving everywhere we went. It was absolutely adorable and very clean and well stocked with all the little things you might forget. The description was spot on! We would definitely stay here again on a return trip to Colorado Springs!

The Grotto is quite well-maintained & thoughtfully stocked with all the fixin’s, plus some extras! Communicative, gracious hosts. Convenient walkable location proximal to downtown. I will say, bear in mind you’re bound to hear activity from tenants above and in the laundry facilities just outside the bedroom door (as well as movement through all the plumbing pipes overhead - you’re in the basement after all!), but didn’t even see anyone during our 4-night stay!

Unique, Convenient, Cozy

We enjoyed our stay, and found the accommodations very unique and conveniently located for our plans in Colorado Springs. Clever use of space and nicely updated features in bathroom and kitchen areas. I will add that technically the space sleeps 4, but not very comfortably. The bed certainly is comfy, but the pull out couch is definitely does not sleep 2 comfortably. Otherwise, no complaints and if it was just 2 or 3 of us, we would stay here again.

Stayed for a month—work from home eastern time zone; we brought only one portable desk and we were both able to work comfortably from home—great WiFi and cell service. LOVED the bikes—we biked to the rock climbing gym and grocery store on a regular basis. Very clean and well stocked!

Adorable!

I've always pictured finding a place like this to rent. The downtown vibes, the way they renovated the downstairs apartment...it is cozy and very charming! The Grotto on St. Vrain had everything we needed and it was a joy to stay in. We walked downtown and back with ease. We enjoyed it so much! We did a lot of exploring which and didn't eat out as much as we normally do to save more time for exploration. The Safeway was close and easy to shop. We made most of our food in the kitchen and had all of the utensils and appliances needed to cook. We tried a 1 year old sandwich shop that I highly recommend (Colonel Mustard's Sandwich Shop) and Skirted Heifer. We would like to come back and eat at The Rabbit Hole, etc. Our adventures took us to The Summit at Pikes Peak, The top of The Incline (that hike is a real challenge), Paradise Cove, and Garden of the Gods. We saw lots of deer at Garden of the Gods and watched the sunrise as we got there at 5am. There was a mountain goat near the top of Pike's Peak. It was a great time and we always looked forward to coming back to The Grotto on St. Vrain to rest, cook, and enjoy downtown in between adventures. This place is a little gem!

Outstanding Place to Stay!

This place is absolutely amazing to stay at. The home is very well furnished and put together. Everything you could possibly need for your stay along with extra necessities Incase you forgot something at home. The home is located very close to several restaurant and attractions. Would absolutely stay again. The only thing we noticed that is a slight turn off is the appearance of the outside of the home, the narrow hallway and stairs leading down to the basement unit. The other tenants in the house are all very nice but do seem to close the front door to the house very loudly. Although we looked over the fact that there is no AC in this unit it stayed fairly cool downstairs but could definitely be slightly colder for us South Louisiana people. Overall the stay was absolutely amazing and would definitely stay again!!
