About this property

RIVER MEMORIES! Overlooking the Little Pigeon River!

RIVER MEMORIES sits alone over-looking the banks of the Little Pigeon River. The spacious three-bedroom house has on its property a perch perfect for fishing, sunbathing, skipping rocks or simple relaxing while the Smoky Mountain Stream slowly rolls by. Other fun amenities include a pool table, hot tub, basketball hoop, stunning views, and a quiet, yet convenient location.

From the huge porch that wraps around the front and side of River Memories, as well as from the upstairs deck, you can kick back on a log rocking chair—a must for any mountain cabin!—and look out onto the river, the woodlands, and the Great Smoky Mountains. The only thing that could enhance the restfulness of the scene would be to experience it while soaking in the hot tub on the porch!

The living area, with its double-height ceiling, is especially relaxing, and in winter the warm glow of the gas fireplace makes it more so. There’s room for the whole gang to get comfortable on the roll-arm sofas and watch a movie on the large HDTV with DVD player.

River Memories has a fully equipped kitchen, complete with stainless-steel appliances, shining countertops, cookware, and tableware galore. There’s also a charcoal grill outside.

The house’s three bedrooms practically guarantee a fabulous night’s sleep. Each has its own flat-panel TV with DVD player, plenty of storage, multiple windows, and a ceiling fan to help lull you to sleep. The master suite on the main floor boasts a king-size bed and a private bathroom as well. One of the upstairs bedrooms also has a king-size bed; the third bedroom, with two queen-size beds, is perfect for the kids or a family within your group with little ones. The upstairs bedrooms share the second full bath; each floor has a half-bath as well.

Speaking of convenience, River Memories includes a washer and dryer, so that you can pack light. When you arrive you’ll find the beds perfectly made up and loads of clean towels at your service, so if after your travels you need a shower or a nap, you can go right ahead.

River Memories’ location is convenient too. Despite the serenity of its riverside setting and the privacy provided by the dense woodlands, the house is just a fifteen-minute drive to the restaurants, shops, and attractions of downtown Gatlinburg. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, and Dollywood aren’t much farther.

The spectacular setting, stellar furnishings, thoughtful amenities, and convenient locale of River Memories ensure that the memories you make during your stay will be blissful ones. First, though, you have to make your reservation—so go ahead, before someone else beats you to it!

Peaceful Retreat @ River Memories

House was immaculate. Peaceful stay. Verizon didn’t work well, but AT&T did. Would recommend and we’ll be going back.

Great little river getaway

We had a great time here. The location is fun, being right by the river, and I appreciated that there is a little swim platform available to enjoy the water. The weather didn’t cooperate for us but it was still beautiful. The house was very clean when we arrived and the check in process was very simple. The location was as to be expected and convenient to access both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge areas. I’ve been staying at rentals almost every year for over 20 years in this area and they all have their pros and cons. Being a rental, there are certain aspects of the house that are “well-loved”. Lots of scuffs and chips in the walls and woodwork, shower curtain rod falling down, upstairs shower “screamed” due to the water pressure, towels were tiny, sheets were very scratchy and mattresses had severe indents. The fridge was extremely stale/rotten smelling. I think the biggest issue we had was with the cookware and kitchen supplies. The pots and pans were scratched and rusted beyond use. That threw a wrench in some of our plans but we adapted. Overall I would consider trying to stay here again but have different expectations.

Amazing Place

This Place was so amazing. It brought back memories of back home in PA were i grew up near a river. The view of the river right off the front porch and top deck was beautiful. We loved waking up in the morning and drinking our coffee on the front porch while listening to the sound of the river and nature around us. We also enjoyed playing pool when it was raining and we could not go out and see the sites. We loved putting our feet in the river. This place was not to far from all location we needed to go. ie store, pigeon forge, Gatlinburg and other sites. Yard space was perfect for dog/dogs. We will be back next year if possible and will defiantly be recommending this cabin to friends and family.

Beautiful, clean, no steep drive

Rental process was very easy through VRBO. Check in time was 3:00. We received a call at 2:00 that it was ready early! A maintenance guy showed up not long after to change out a light bulb and gave us a history of the property and showed us how to work the gas logs. The visitor log had more info on the property and owners. The setting was perfect. The river was beautiful and the sound of the water made it perfect. There are no steep hills to climb to the property. There are some windy roads but nothing too bad. The drive was beautiful even in the misty rain. I would love to go back here in the spring or summer to be able to play in the river. It is a 12-15 minute drive from the attractions of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but that was in the listing. Overall it was a great stay.

Wonderful home, great water view but busy road lane just steps away.

This house had the important elements needed for our trip: 1) pet friendly, 2) lower elevation, 3) wonderful river view 4) correct # bedrooms and baths. 5) decent decor and updates. 6) garage use positive. 7) heating and fireplace worked well. Negatives: how close the house is to that one lane road. Locals go fast when they drive it. 2) poor cell reception/ lack of streaming. 3) master bedding fitted sheet and mattress cover too small to not slip off corners during the night. Irritating for the guest 4) the home description boasts a 15 min drive into Gatlinburg. 25-30 is more like it. 25-30 to Pigeon Forge and 30 plus to Seiverville.

Excellent Property

We rented this property for 6 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The view and ambience of the river are remarkable. The house is very spacious. The master bedroom with a huge master bath is on the main floor along with a half bath of the living area. There is a full size washer and dryer and full kitchen. Upstairs you will find two very spacious bedrooms, full bath and another half bath along with the loft area with pool table. Outside is a generous yard, wrap around porch, four person hot tub, basketball hoop, horseshoes, and small charcoal grill. I highly recommend this property. We really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Getaway

Property was extremely clean and well-organized. The small river is just across the street from the house and the sound is very relaxing and provided a lot of enjoyment for everyone in our group.
