About this property

Lakefront Cabin w/stunning views & private dock! Fish, swim, boat, grill & chill

Welcome to your peaceful lakeside escape—perfect for writers, dreamers, and anyone in need of a quiet break from city life.

This cozy cabin sleeps 2 adults on two very comfortable sofa beds, with soft linens, pillows, and mattress protectors provided. You'll find everything you need in the pine cupboard—just make up your bed each night before turning in.

Minimum stay: 1 night. Maximum stay: 2 nights.

Water conservation is critical; the water supply is limited. However, you'll have access to an outdoor shower for refreshing rinses. Please be aware that there is no dishwasher available, so you will need to hand wash dishes used before check-out.
The cabin has a unique and easy-to-use incinerator toilet that safely burns waste, requiring just three simple steps.

It is important to ensure that guests have an accurate understanding of the accommodations. The cabin sleeps 2 and cannot accommodate pets due to the owner's allergies. There are a limited number of reviews as the cabin is for rent on a very exclusive basis.

Enjoy breathtaking sunset views over the lake and direct access to Summit Lake for seasonal fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming. Imagine waking up in a tree house and soaking in the beauty of the sunset from the cabin or dock. This experience offers a tranquil and scenic retreat that is not to be missed.

Summit Lake is home to a variety of fish species, including rainbow trout, kokanee, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brown bullhead, pumpkinseed sunfish, coastal cutthroat, and northern pike minnow. Don't forget to bring your fishing gear and bait for a memorable angling adventure.

While the cabin and property have a compact layout, it is more than enough for a weekend visit. The cabin features an entry area for your coats and shoes, a dining area with a spacious round table, a kitchen, a living room area, and a powder room bathroom. The living room area includes two sofas that fold into queen-sized beds. For your entertainment, there is a mounted ROKU TV in the corner, perfect for relaxing and enjoying Netflix and other TV apps. Outside, there is a shower on the deck to use camping style.

To ensure peace of mind during your stay, a damage protection plan is automatically added through Waivo. The added rental "Property Fee" provides guests with $1,500 of comprehensive damage protection coverage for each stay.

The cabin is conveniently located just a 15 to 20-minute drive away from restaurants, shopping, and antiquing in and around Olympia. Additionally, you can reach the Pacific Ocean beaches and explore the hiking trails of the Olympic Peninsula in less than a two-hour drive.

Summit Lake residents pride themselves on maintaining the cleanliness and purity of Summit Lake, which serves as a drinking water source for the neighbors. As a result, the cabin does not have a septic system, just a small kitchen sink and a toilet sink for handwashing. Only the use of environmentally safe soaps for both dishes and personal hygiene is allowed. For your convenience, an incinerating toilet is available for guest use, which must be operated differently from a standard flush toilet, safely burning a paper liner with each use.

Come and experience the tranquility and natural beauty of the lakeside retreat. Book your stay now and create cherished memories in this idyllic setting. Guests must provide photo ID, sign rental rules, and agree to proper use and care of the incinerator toilet before the reservation is fully booked.

Lovely and quaint

Just sitting outside on the lounge chairs watching the activity on the lake was relaxing enough. Will definitely stay again and get in the water next time.

2nd stay won’t be the last

Love this cabin and the location does much that I came back the next time I visited Olympia. It’s exceedingly comfortable and quiet. Perfect for not doing anything or filling your time with hiking, swimming or kayaking and/or a little of both—see you next summer!

Lake place with Tree house vibe

This lovely little cabin has all the quaintness of the old style lake cabins but is completely set up with everything you’ll need for a relaxed stay. The view is stunning and the quiet and comfort was just what I needed. I brought my elderly Mom out for the day to get her out of COVID isolation. She had no difficulty with the 5 stairs from the road and was content to sit in the deck for the day and take in the view.

A grown-up treehouse on a lake

Lovely cabin getaway, in the trees, overlooking a beautiful lake. Great for solo or couple travellers. Optimal use of the incinerating toilet does require some planning.

About the host

Hosted by Yvonne

Host profile image
I have enjoyed heading to Summit Lake for kayaking and summer swimming since becoming the second owner of this cabin in 2019. This 1950's fishing cabin is a sophisticated tree-house-like studio with private dock access if you want to bring your small boat, or drop your fishing line right off the end of he dock.

Why they chose this property

This cabin is cozy and comfortable, just steps from the lake! The swimming in the summer can't be beat as surface water temps get as high as 80 degrees!

There is a public boat launch at Summit Lake, making it easy to bring your small boat to dock at the cabin during your visit.

What makes this property unique

The spot is ideal because you really are getting a camping-like experience with the comfort and convenience to cook indoors or grill out on the deck. It is very close to Olympia's shops and great restaurants.
