we are a group of 4 guys that have been riding sleds in the up for 30 plus years, and we have booked this house 3 times now and is always great to stay here, will do again next year, as trails were great everyday this past feb.
This place was ideal for our snowmobile trip. Very roomy for parking 2 four place trailers and plenty of extra room for turning around and parking the sleds. The house was also roomy with a decent size entrance way to get suited up. hot water heater was big enough to keep up with both showers going , and the furnace kept us warm when the temperature dropped to -10f . Kitchen was up to date on appliances and everything worked great. Huge TV was nice and the WIFI worked great. My only complaint that I had with this nice place was that there isn't a downstairs bathroom . Other than that, this place met and exceeded our expectations. I HIGHLY recommend this place to any group of snowmobilers.
This property delivered for a quiet, restful retreat. House was immaculate, well stocked and comfortable. Very conveniently located for day trips. Host was very
attentive.
My husband, son and daughter-in-law, 4-year old grandson and 2-year old granddaughter had a wonderful time at Mark and Mary's lovely vacation rental. Their hospitality was gracious and helpful just like Midwesterners are known for, evening offering us vegetables from their garden on the property. The home was spotless, decorating was tasteful and homey with an "out in the country" feel and very well equipped. The big open yard gave our grandchildren space to run and play and the fire pit made for relaxing evenings eating s'mores and connecting with our family. The location was very centralized for the attractions in that area of the U.P. It was within 30 minutes of Mackinac Island ferry, Tahquamenon State Park (which I HIGHLY recommend!), the Deer Ranch in St. Ignace, and many others we didn't have time to explore. We definitely would stay at this home again!
This place was perfect for our stay in the UP!
*Enough bedrooms that we all had our own.
*Well stocked kitchen and outside grill to prepare our meals.
*Firepit and wood for nightly family gathering.
*Nice central location. We spent 3 days driving in different directions to do the tourist thing and was conveniently located and not a bad drive each day.
*Peaceful surrounded by mature trees (bring mosquito spray!)
*Mary was quick to respond to any messages we sent.
I am recommending to all our family and friends to stay on their trip to the UP.
What a wonderful vacation home! Centrally located in the upper Peninsula for us to pivot off of for our excursions. We explored Picture Rock Lake, the Shipwreck Museum and Tahquamenon Falls, Mackanac Island, St Ignace, and Sand Dune Beach while staying in this house.
House is extremely clean with a lot of space. We enjoyed Corn Hole and Yard Yahtzee outside. She has puzzles and board games. Kitchen is well equipped. Everyone slept well (comfy beds). Owner, Mary, is very responsive and kind.
Highly recommend this rental!
This home was perfect for our family of 7! Even had room for my parents to stay one night. Everyone was impressed with how beautiful and clean the home and property was. Easy to get to with my mini van as long as you took County Line road in. Games and toys for the kids and yard games. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Hope to be back one day!
Perfect long weekend getaway location for our Eastern U.P. site seeing trip. Beautiful home to stay in, both inside and out. Excellent amenities from the kitchen, to the outdoor fire pit and games. We visited the Soo locks, Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, Tahquamenon Falls, and Mackinac Island. We had eight family members and felt we had plenty of space.
The home was beautifully decorated and located in a peaceful location that was still conveniently located for access to Mackinac Island and UP attractions. We reslly enjoyed ourselves.
Tree his home was absolutely perfect for our family of 6, and the location could not have been better! It was so quiet and secluded, but still close to everything we wanted to do while in the UP. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked, the beds were comfy, and the communication with Mary was excellent. Mark even kept us stocked with bonfire wood, so we didn’t have to worry about finding any! It’s so important to have a cozy, comfortable place to call home when on vacation, and Mark and Mary nailed it with this home. We had such a great time, and would absolutely recommend Sugar Bush Getaway!
We really enjoyed our stay! There is so much to see within driving distance. We did kayaking at Pictured Rocks, Top of the Lake snowmobile museum, Garlyns zoo, soo locks and a full day on Mackinac island. There were 6 of us and the house had plenty of room. Thanks again!!
If you know the UP being 1 hour away is just “right down the road”. Nice area, very nice place, great internet to to be out in the forest like the place is. Within a hour to a ton of the UPs great attractions and close to convenience down the road.
The property was clean and spacious with plenty of room for my family of 7. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable and the yard games and fire pit were an added bonus! It was centrally located for the couple of day trips that we took. Definitely recommend this home!
Location!! We used this as home base taking daily trips to Whitefish Point, Pictured Rocks, Soo Locks, and Mackinac Island. It was exactly what we needed! Lovely home with well-stocked kitchen for preparing meals, bonfire area with wood ready to burn, and living room with plenty of seating for relaxing.
Lots of amenities!! Home feels welcoming and comfortable. Loved the atmosphere, kids enjoyed the games and camp fires. Room decor was fun for the kids. Highly recommend staying here.
This was a terrific getaway for our mini vacation. The house was perfect for our group and Mary was amazing to work with. We absolutely loved the quiet serenity of Sugarbush and would recommend it to anyone looking for quiet space. My only recommendation (something we learned since this was our first stay in the UP during spring) take plenty of bug spray, the mosquitos are hungry little buggers. The great news was that Mary and Mark had the tabletop torches at the ready and the firepit was area was very nice! Again, one of the best places I/we have stayed!
The cabin was larger than the listing portrayed, which was great! Plenty of comfy space to spread out after a long day of riding.
Thank you!!

The house was equipped with all the essentials needed for a weekend or week long stay. Comfy beds and ample seating room for our group of 4. Easy access to the trail system and Trout Lake for food and gas.
Owner was very response and the check in process was simple with a key code for the door provided.

We are excited to offer the house as a rental in the beautiful UP!! This house has been in my husbands family for years. It was originally his grandparents homestead and then his mother acquired it after the death of her parents. Our son eventually bought it as his 1st home for him and his wife. They did the major remodel over the last few years. Then they decided to move closer to St.Ignace, so thats when my husband and I decided to purchase it. A lot of great memories are in the house. And we hope you and your families will add to these memories.
