Lovely, comfortable accommodation with 'feel good factor' of being environmentally friendly. Cosy.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Ecolodge, Wallingford. Clever design and green technology made this a comfortable and convenient stay. It is plenty big enough for a small family, though accommodation not really private enough for two couples. Kitchen and utility well provided. Bathroom nice and warm but shower a bit weak. Views across the field lovely to wake up to. Host, Tim, really friendly and welcoming.

A very special place!
We loved the sustainability of the lodge which was comfy and had a peaceful serene atmosphere. We loved Tim’s enthusiasm. He was so welcoming and helpful and made staying in Mizpah an absolute pleasure. His little cat clearly likes the charms of Mizpah and gullible visitors too! And we were more than happy to welcome our feline friend. We saw gorgeous sunrises and sunsets as well as bird life from the lodge, and had great fun beginning to explore the abundant walks, pubs and places of interest, there just wasn’t enough time so we will have to return. Real gem this place. We were sad to leave!

Like the Eco ideas. Centrally located. Welcoming owners. Spacious.
Love the whole Eco idea. Knew it was next to a recycling tip so that was not a problem. More space than we imagined and Tim was very welcoming and friendly. Outside space was perfect for us and our dog. Nice to sit on the deck with a glass of wine. I guess the own down points would be silly things, like the mirror inthe bathroom was so high I could barely see in it and I am 5ft 6ins. There was no larger mirror to be able to see clothes before you go out, important for me. The interior of the bathroom was a bit shabby, with missing skirting and painting was really needed, it kind of let the whole place down. The oven...... well I put dinner in the oven for half an hour at the temp of 8, which should have cooked it perfectly. It was so lukewarm that I could pick the dish out with my bare hands, the oven just did not get hot at all. Luckily we transferred everything into the microwave. We went to use the wok, and someone had put it away in the cupboard absolutely filthy, still with dirty oil and food particles sitting in it... perhaps whoever cleans for a changeover may like to check this in future. Not a pleasant surprise. So overall a great stay, just looked a bit in need of TLC here and there.

Fantastische plek.

wonderful out of the way spot
We loved the eco lodge. Lots of home comforts in a great location. We explored the River Thames, the Chilterns and Oxford from this countryside cabin. The nearby town of Wallingford had lots of charm and local amenities and its only 10 minutes away. Thanks for letting us use the lodge Tim.

A well equipped lodge with a lovely view. A place to unwind and relax
A great lodge with lots of eco friendly points, without losing any of the comforts. The spacious open plan layout was still cosy because of the thoughtful details of the owner. Our stay was just what we needed peaceful and secluded. Tim & Sarah being the best of hosts, very friendly, welcoming and accommodating; their affection for the lodge is infectious. Would love to visit again soon

A very peaceful and homely lodge
We had such a lovely stay here and so did our dog. Enjoyed early walks in the adjacent woods before breakfast and then long walks along the river with an occasional pub stop, and back to this lovely home where everything has been supplied for a very comfortable stay. Tim's passion for all things green is an inspiration and we came home fully recharged and with plans for another visit soon. Highly recommended!

Beautiful peaceful ecolodge with lovely hosts
We had an excellent two night stay in this charming and welcoming lodge. Tim and Sarah were extremely helpful and welcoming hosts. Everything was done to make us feel welcome, from excellent communication in advance of our stay, to some beautiful home-made produce which was provided at the accommodation. The lodge itself is in a lovely, quiet location which made for a relaxing stay for the two of us and our 10-week old son. It's very well equipped and very tastefully furnished. We would not hesitate to recommend it and hope to visit again some time.

Peaceful retreat
Mizpah Lodge is in a very quiet location that allows for a peaceful relaxing break from the norm. It is situated close to Wallingford that offers a range of eating places including several take away options. There was a good view across the fields of the helicopters going in and out of RAF Benson. The Lodge was well equipped with everything we needed. It was warm and comfortable. (However, if you have allergies be warned the pillows etc are filled with feathers) We enjoyed walking along the Thames with our little dog and stood for a while watching Benson Lock. This was a last minute booking for a two day escape. Tim was very helpful and quick to respond to emails. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Lodge to others.

Lovely quiet chilled out location
We stayed here while attending our son's wedding, it was perfect plenty of room, the property is well thought out, and its great to stay somewhere where you know you are making as little impact on the environment as possible, while still having some home comforts :-)

Fantastic!
We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Mizpah. The lodge is equipped with everything you could possibly need and is incredibly spacious; an amazing use of the space. We had friends round for a BBQ the night we arrived so there were 8 of us in total and even then there was plenty room for us all. Two of our friends thought that the lodge would be an ideal base for their families to stay whilst visiting the area and were thrilled when we told them how affordable it is. An absolutely perfect base for exploring the delights of Oxfordshire. We will definitely be back and will recommend to everyone and anyone!

Cozy lodge made for a comfortable stay
This lodge had everything we needed for a short stay. We are a family of 4, with 2 teenage boys and the WiFi kept up with them which was great. Tim was very welcoming and explained everything we needed to know (including how to find the place as we did get a bit stuck). Extras were provided like eggs and homemade jam which was a nice touch and we enjoyed watching the Red Kites across the fields while sat outside on the patio area. All in all, would recommend and would stay again.

Very clean and well appointed. The outlook from the lodge was exceptional.
A wonderful relaxing weekend. The lodge was well appointed and exceptionally clean. Tim and Sarah were incredibly welcoming. Supplying us with home made jam! The setting close to Oxford was good. The location of the lodge was wonderful. Waking up to the cockerel and red kites flying overhead was something else. All in all a lovely relaxing weekend. Thank you Tim and Sarah

Why they chose this property

This area has some of the best mountain biking/hiking trails in the country. In spite of being only 40 miles from London, you can ride nearly all day along the huge bridleway network and not even see anyone else. There also plenty of historic sites within a few miles including Grims Ditch, Wallingford Castle and numerous Hill Forts.
This property is in the countryside but only 2 miles from the historic market town of Wallingford

What makes this property unique

The lodge has great views over farmland. It is highly insulated (hemcrete wallls with triple glazed windows and doors) and heated during the winter months by far infrared panels. It is powered by a 4kW array of solar pv panels with grid backup supplied by 100% renewable energy by Good Energy.
