About this property

For 2023 this beautiful property will only be available from the early of june until until mid September and for a minimum of 7 nights. We only have a few dates available which are shown on the diary page. This year we have introduced a 6th bedroom with its own en suite in a separate annex adjacent to the swimming pool. This will enable us to sleep 11 people. The prices quoted are for the whole property including the annex. Don't forget if you are visiting for a special occasion we can arrange caterers and birthday cakes etc. So you don't have to worry about anything, just message us with a request and we will obtain costings for you and as always Shaun and I will be available to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The living space is very generous with a large lounge a snug lounge large kitchen/ dining area plus separate dining room. Out side there is a private pool and covered hot tub plus patio areas to relax and unwind in. The pool is heated to a pleasant temperature and the hot tub is heated to 39 degrees. From the front door there are lovely walks to the banks of the river Parrett or down to the next villages of Combwich or Cannington both of which have some lovely old pubs to quench your thirst on arrival. Please note the pool and hot tub will only be usable between 9am and 9pm .
For many years we have enjoyed renting villas and properties of all types all over the world. When we decided to offer Wagon Barn to our own guests we drew on all our experiences, both good and bad to ensure that Wagon barn would give you a memorable and enjoyable stay. Wagon barn has been dressed to fine detail to ensure that it is homely and warm and not sterile nor too personal. We provide only Egyptian cotton bedding on quality mattresses' and quality towels and pool towels. You will have everything you need in the property such as dishwasher tablets, washing powder, new dish clothes and plenty of tea towels, we even supply tea, coffee, milk and sugar as well as a little extra to welcome you to Somerset. We very much look forward to welcome you to Wagon Barn and will do all we can to ensure you have a fantastic stay with us.

Did not want to leave…

We were 6 adults and 3 children (ages 10-67). We stayed at Wagon Barn 1st week of July 2023. Weather was mixed but there was plenty to keep us occupied - the heated outdoor pool, hot tub and bar were ideal. A large minibus/taxi into Wembdon was about £15 but we’d recommend having a car to explore Cannington, Cheddar and other places nearby. We had several really great days just lazing by the pool, having barbecues, and enjoying the property. We loved the plum and apple trees, the resident squirrel, the many sun traps and outside eating area. The large dining room was great for posh family meals; the nearby pizza takeaway place was a highlight (“what’s up duck” and “completely carnivore” we’re especially delicious. We made good use of the ample fridge space and found the livingroom perfect for watching Wimbledon together. The wi-if signal was unreliable but is enough to get by for most low-speed purposes. The narrow windy roads were charming and picturesque but the absence of any verge or pavement made outdoor walks with children less appealing (not a problem if you have a car). We loved our week at wagon barn and really did not want to leave.

Superb!

An excellent stay at an excellent property. It was just like a home from home - warm and welcoming with none of the clinical sparseness that is so often evident in holiday rental properties. There was an abundance of everything that you could possibly need and the property was spotlessly clean. The pool and hot tub were both a good size and heated to a very comfortable temperature. An all round excellent experience. Mark and Shaun were as warm and welcoming as their lovely property and nothing was too much trouble. The "Welcome pack" they provided was the best I have ever known! The whole family (6 adults and 3 children) had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful holiday home - one of the best

Waggon Barn, is a very special place in the beautiful Somerset Countryside. Mark and Shaun are wonderful, helpful hosts and have clearly invested a lot of time into creating a fantastic holiday experience. We had a really special family holiday and enjoyed the beautiful heated outdoor pool, bar, and hot tub every day. We can not recommend it highly enough and we hope to return one day.

Excellent value for money

This place is amazing. Honestly - they could charge double for what you get and it’d still be good value for money. The rooms are big, clean and luxurious. And the pool and hot tub area is brilliant - we spent hours in there. Loads of parking and a big lawn that we didn’t get round to using. Definitely coming back at some point!

Wow!

We had an amazing stay at Wagon Barn . 9 of us stayed , there was plenty of room, inside and outside. Mark and Sean were so helpful , from start to finish and were on hand if we needed anything. The house was spotless and well equipped with everything you need. Lovely touches like fresh bread, cheese , butter and bottles of fizz were waiting for us. The pool area with bar , bbq and hot tub made the holiday for us, and because the pool is heated we used it even when the weather wasn’t so good. We booked for next year before we left . Highly recommend theWagon Barn , we can’t wait to go back. Thank you Mark and Sean for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

Fabulous Wagon Barn retreat

Smooth easy process from check-in to check-out. Loved the touch of having pressecco and chocolates waiting for us on arrival. Beautiful and relaxing long weekend away with friends, I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back.

Amazing staycation

We have been renting holiday homes for years but the quality of this property has far exceeded all others. There were 9 in our group for the first week and we all had plenty of space in very comfortable surroundings . The little extras such as cream tea on arrival with prosecco was most enjoyed as were the brownies for our second week. Additions such as pool towels, household items and lovely bathroom products were much appreciated as were the freshly laid eggs. The gardens and surroundings are beautiful and the warm pool , hot tub and bar were a real hit and used everyday. Mark and Shaun couldn't have done more to make us welcome and were on hand if we needed anything. They have created a very beautiful ,tranquil and peaceful environment and it was great to spend lazy days enjoying the great facilities. We hope to return again soon.

Super House and Great Hosts

We had another lovely stay at Wagon Barn. The large house is great for a big group. The garden, pool, hot tub and pool bar are fantastic and really make the holiday regardless of the weather. Mark and Shaun are great hosts and very attentive and helpful. The treats on arrival are so very appreciated as are the stocks of household products like handwash, toilet rolls, washing up liquid etc. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back

What a wonderful place to stay. Easy directions to follow although postcode leaves you just short of property a covering message was sent by hosts on how to find house. A warm welcome by hosts Sean and Mark who explained everything. although they were unable to show us physically around the house everything was as described on the website. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the welcome pack of fizz and cream tea went down well. The accommodation was clean and tidy and plenty of hand sanitzer and hand wash throughout the house and by the pool/bar area. Had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing week. Although only 4 of us the property can easily house 9 and still have plenty of space. Thank you Mark and Sean for letting us share your house.

My Name is Mark and I own this property with Shaun, my partner of 34 years. We have renovated several properties over the years and decided this time to do something a little different. I have been an Area manager for the past 15 years and Shaun has been in the retail industry for the past 18 years. Prior to that Shaun worked in hospitality and this has been something we wanted to go back to together.

This property is very individual and has been very sympathetically converted to make a fantastic home with all the space where you need it most, the living area.

What makes this property unique

Set in a rural location yet close to a market town offering all the amenities one would expect with lots of local attractions on the door step with plenty more no more than an hour away, its the perfect pot to base yourself to explore all that Somerset has to offer. Wagon Barn is an ideal place to come and get away from it all. Ideal for peace and tranquillity and total relaxation. Please note, it is not a party venue. And not suitable for Hen and stag parties.
