The "Casa do Castelo" is an apartment located on the second floor of a building in the historic area recovered centennial S. Castle Jorge in Lisbon. The house is in a quiet area, where you can wake up, to dismiss the alarm, with the chirping of birds or the bell of Grace church. With magnificent views over the city, the castle house has two bedrooms, living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom and a very nice outdoor terrace. The castle, the Moorish, the church of S. Vicente de Fora and the Flea Market, the neighborhoods of Grace, Alfama and Mouraria are at a distance of a short walk, as well as downtown Lisbon. Nearby you can find several restaurants, cafes or bars.

Lovely Apartment -Amazing area
We spent a week in Lisbon and couldn't have asked for a better spot! We didn't know that in our backyard would be St. George's castle. It was a great place.

Great spot
Joao, really has a sweet spot overlooking the old town and within walking distance 5min or less of authentic Portuguese cuisine and many other cultures. The old town is quite to stay and sleep and the building is historic and brings in all the culture of Portugal. Wojld stay here again.

The neighborhood and view from the apartment couldn't be beat. Owner was very responsive to our questions. Property was decent but a little shabby. Overall, we had a great stay.

Great apartment in an excellent location
João's apartment was excellent. All you might need for a city stay and more. Much more spacious than you might expect for a city centre location... this apartment being just below the Castle! Also for a city centre location, the area is quite quiet, the road being restricted access. A comfortable and airy apartment, clean and tidy.

Lovely apt in historic Lisbon near castelo de sao jorge and metro stations martim moniz and rossio
Lovely european apartment with outdoor terrace and view of lisbon city. Located behind castelo sao jorge on top of the hill. Stairs or incline streets to access and close walking to the metro. Host was very good communicating and instructions were clear.

Perfect location in historic area
The apartment was adequate for 3 people, with 2 bedrooms. The living room area could use another good chair other than the old bean bag chair currently there. My only complaint relates to the very loud construction going on outside all day long which the owner would have no control over, though a warning would have been appreciated.

Quirky but nice
This is a very retro style, beautifully located apartment with fabulous views in a location for people with good knees who want to explore the Alfama. It would suit fit people who can carry their bags up stairs and don’t require high spec or very up to date decor and facilities. Perfect for someone like me, who is comfy in a 70s environment. The location just below Sao Jorge, with breathtaking views makes up for it. The place was clean and Owner communicative and helpful

What a view…
The apt is clean, nicely laid out for a short stay. Kitchen, eating area and patio all make for meals at home nice and easy. The owner is helpful and easy to reach. Many restaurants close by and everything is easily walkable… lots of up & down. And there is the view :)

Great location
The apartment is situated in Alfama, the oldest part of Lisboa; it features a great view. To walk there from the centre is fairly quick, yet it requires a fit person (or an affordable taxi ride or public transport), The apartment is unusually spacy and well furnished. We did not use the kitchen equipment, but it looked complete and fit. It is not the fault of the patron that there is noise from a building site on the other side of the road - this will presumably go on for a longer period of time. The only thing I disliked were the Incontinence underlays in the bed. Overall an outstanding site and a caring and responsive patron.

Great base place to explore Lisbon’s sites. Beautiful views from the apartment. Host is responsive and gave clear access instructions. Please note, as other reviewers mentioned, the location is very hilly with numerous stairs to access the property and the apartment. Suggest using the nearby elevators as much as possible!Additionally the sewer smell inside the building was not pleasant.

Die Lage der Ferienwohnung ist perfekt. Tolle Aussicht über die Stadt. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Kleiner Laden direkt nebenan. Die Matratzen sind sehr durchgelegen. Über unserer Wohnung spazierte die halbe Nacht immer jemand umher, was sehr nervig war. Ansonsten kann man diese Wohnung gerne weiterempfehlen

Basicamente el apartamento esta situado en un barrio con altura, desde las ventanas de l comedor y la habitacion tienes vistas a la ciudad, incluso algun lugar turistico. La verdad es que Joao nos dio las instrucciones muy claras y fue muy sencillo llegar y hacer el check in. El apartamento era como habia descrito en el anuncio y es un aprtamneto que esta muy bien equipado. Perfecto para ir unos dias tranquilos a lIsboa. Bravo Joao

Met z,n drieen was het een ruim appartement. We een aardige klim voordat je er bent maar dan heb je ook prachtig uitzicht. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Leuk binnentuintje. Wel wat gehoorig. Prima communicatie.

Schöne Aussicht
Unterkunft wie beschrieben. Etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sauber und ordentlich. Der Aufstieg von der Metro ist etwas beschwerlich, wird aber teilweise durch Rolltreppen erleichtert. Der Vermieter kam uns mit der check out Zeit freundlicher Weise sehr entgegen.

Le choix de cet appartement en plein Alfama m'a fait un peu peur quand je me suis retrouvée en bas des marches, mais arrivés en haut, nous avons tout oublié ! La superbe vue, l'appartement trés sympa, trés bien emménagé et les check in/out faits en toute confiance et autonomie, top! Propriétaire hyper réactif quant à un souci avec la télé que nous arrivions pas à régler. Bref à conseiller sans hésitation

Einfache Wohnung/ Tolle Aussicht
Wohnung ist sehr einfach eingerichtete. Die Kaffeemaschine haben wir vermisst. Mussten uns mit instantkaffe behelfen Grösse der Wohnung für 4 Personen für ein paar Tage ausreichend. Wohnung liegt trotz direkt unterhalb Burg sehr zentral und waren sehr schnell an allen zentralen Orten.

Un séjour au top
Appartement super bien placé, plus que bien équipé (cuisine + produits de 1ères nécessité) , propre, avec une vue magnifique. Commerces à proximité ainsi que lieux touristiques. Jaoa, le propriétaire était très dispo et réactif. On a même pu laisser nos bagages après l'heure de départ pendant le passage de la femme de ménage pour nous permettre de profiter encore sans être encombré. Vraiment top!

Appartement très propres et rafraichie par l'air grâce à sa situation en hauteur. Quelques remarques : (1) la cuvette des WC menace de tomber, il faut la fixer (2) l'équipement de la cuisine est à compléter par des ustensiles en bon état.

João foi super acessível em todas as mensagens pelo aplicativo. Chegamos e explicou como tudo funcionava e dicas de lugares em Lisboa. O apartamento estava limpo e organizado. Tem tudo o que você precisa, bem equipado e apesar de ser verão em Portugal e não ter ar condicionado, isso não foi problema, pois o imóvel é ventilado, além de ter uma vista belíssima da cidade.

We could have stared out those windows at the sky and the views forever! Cosy apartment, lovely to have an outside space to relax in. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had basic supplies and equipment. The location was ideal for wandering the Alfama and close enough to the trains to make further exploration easy! New Cafe down the block made quick cafes and snacks easy! Thank you

The castle home was my first home. I have redesigned it according to an architecture project thought to enjoy the spaces tailored to my needs and family growth. When it became too small, instead of sell I decided to stick with it and I hope that my daughters can be so happy in it when they grow up as I went.

In addition to be inserted in full historical district of Lisbon, near the Castle of St. George, combines the absolute quietness with fantastic views of Lisbon and the privacy of a terrace where you can have breakfast, read a book, drink a glass or take a nap. All rooms have natural light.
