Araby House

The Mid-Century Modern design of this house is most interesting and made for a unique and enjoyable experience. It was over much too soon. The best part of the house is the fabulous view of the mountains out the west windows. Also, the neighborhood was very quiet day and night which we much appreciated. The owner Mark was quite friendly and easy to get in touch with to answer any questions we had. The only disappointment was the unusually cool weather that prevented us from using the near-by pool very much. But that, of course, was no fault of the house. We would gladly stay there again.

Lovely Palm Springs Home

We just returned from a month visit at this lovely home in Palm Springs. The owner Mark was responsive, easy to work with and provided us with fantastic restaurant and shopping recommendations. When we needed a break from dining out the kitchen had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed our evening cocktails on the patio while watching the beautiful sunsets. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the authentic mid-century modern decor. The heated pool is a short walk from the condo and the complex is very close to the open desert where there are many hiking trails. We hope to stay here again next year!

Lover and care taker of beautiful things. Spent alot of time, energy and money on creating my Palm Springs home and looking for others that will love and care for it equally.

Why they chose this property

This Palm Springs condo is one of 30 units in the Park Imperial South community, built in 1961 and designed by Barry Berkus. Over the course of his long career, the architect oversaw production of around 600,000 mass-produced residences across the United States. The property was designated a historic district by the City of Palm Springs in 2016.

This particular development, like many others in Palm Springs, is a masterful marriage of reproducible construction techniques and modern style. The homes are designed with wavy folded fan-style rooflines, clerestory windows, and walls of white concrete.

The home has maintained its midcentury aesthetic. It features an open floor plan that joins the living room, dining room, and kitchen areas. Other highlights include remodeled kitchen, new floors, walls of windows, and the original hood in the kitchen, and plenty of outdoor access points.

What makes this property unique

Easy access to mountain trails, groceries, golf, pickle ball. Centrally located in South Palm Springs.
