Aloha and welcome to DG-14! Ground floor and closest unit to the pool and BBQ - no need to wait for an elevator or trek everything through hallways. Largest one bedroom layout within the Kihei Akahi.

Steps away from Kamaole II beach, restaurants, the pool and BBQ. Designer selected paint and decor with a comfortable island feel. Laminate beech wood flooring and tile throughout the unit (no carpet). Relax on our lanai and expansive grassy area perfect for lounging or dining, while the kids run and play. Toys in unit for the kids (legos, magnatiles, games) a Smart TV and free WiFi. The closet is filled with beach necessities including beach chairs, floaties, beach toys, beach towels, a wagon, an umbrella, a surf board and coolers.

Tiki torches set the mood in the evenings and are visible from the unit while cooking dinner. The condo stays cool during summers with a powerful air conditioner in the living room, ceiling fans in both the living room and bedroom, and a Minka fan in the bedroom. The sofa pulls out into a high quality memory foam mattress. Our condo also features a fully remodeled kitchen with Cambria Quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances.
The bathroom remodel was completed in 2023 and includes a Signature Hardware rain shower, rock shower floor and a stunning marble vanity area. Small details throughout including wooden hangers, charging stations on both sides of the beds, a small library of books, and more - all to make the stay more comfortable.

No car necessary; you can walk to two of the most beautiful beaches in south Maui: Kam II and Kam III beaches. Great location for relaxing, picnics, surfing, snorkeling, tide pooling, whale watching in season, and watching sunsets. The Kihei Akahi Resort is a safe (24 hour security) and quiet complex that features two pools, BBQs and tennis courts & pickleball; all available at no extra charge.

You can also walk to many restaurants that have views of the ocean. Next door to the complex is Fred’s, one of the island’s most popular Mexican restaurants. Moose McGillicuddy’s (best happy hour on the island), shave ice, cinnamon rolls, coffee as well as lots of shopping, beach equipment rental companies, and local restaurants all in walking distance.

We donate ten percent of your rental fee (excluding tax, and fees) to the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. We want to help save the marine life around the Hawaiian islands. We hope you are as passionate as we are when it comes to Hawaii and the animals that live in the Hawaiian waters.

We are able to offer flexible check in and check out times depending on availability - just ask!

***PLEASE NOTE: our unit is not available if you smoke (cigars, cigarettes, vaping, etc.). Though it is a non-smoking unit, smoke can transfer to fabric on the sofa and bedding. The owners have a son that is extremely sensitive and we apologize that we cannot accommodate you. If a smoke smell is detected, you will forfeit your deposit and will be unable to rent from us in the future. Mahalo for your understanding.

Maui fun

The condo was clean and well stocked. The window air conditioner is older and should be replaced with a newer cost efficient unit, it made the front bedroom quite warm to sleep in. With the large amount of condos and all the fees being assessed there is a homeless persons issue wandering around the buildings.

Can't beat the location

Wonderful unit on a great property. Right across from Kam ll beach, and next to shopping and restaurants. Unit was steps from the upper pool, which made it very convenient. Beautifully decorated and felt like home.

Amazing location

Everything from checkin, location, amenities, and checkout were fantastic. Property was very clean and offered plenty of amenities that I don’t think I can go back to starting at hotels/resorts while staying in Hawaii. In room laundry, kitchen, and beach gear (chairs, cart, sand toys) were very helpful and welcomed.

Fantastic location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo was well appointed with everything we needed, including beach chairs and umbrellas. It was a great location, super close to the beach and walkable restaurants. We liked the easy access of the first floor and the ground level patio. We would stay there again. Thank you!

Amazing holiday

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!! The property is directly across from the beach with easy access to your sun filled days at the beach or sunsets after dinner. The condo had a fully stocked kitchen, toys for the kids as well as all the amenities for the beach (chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, boogie boards & sand toys) including the wagon to hull everything. For us & our kiddos, this was the perfect place for us. The condo was also on the ground floor which is also located right in front of the pool which was also a nice perk. We had a few questions & Terri was very quick to respond once we first arrived. We will definitely be back again. Thank you so much!

Garden Delight

It was a welcome site to arrive at Kihei Akahi, the grounds were beautiful. I loved the location on our condo on the ground floor, just steps away from pool and bbq, We enjoyed the updated living space, and the king mattress was very comfortable. A great property for exploring Kihei, we really like to walk... this was a great mid point for walking both ways on ocean walkways.

Great Location

Great experience. Needed a place to stay in between buying and selling our house. Booked the night before and it was ready the next day. Good location and nice being on ground floor...easy access to the pool.

Beautiful condo, wonderful location!

We were more than happy with our choice to rent this condo and to stay in Kihei for our first trip to Hawaii. This condo is perfectly located next to the grill and pool with only a short walk to the beach as well as restaurants. The condo is equipped with everything you need to cook and for a beach day. The hosts are incredibly responsive with any needs and we had no issues. We did sleep on the pullout bed in the living room due to this being the coolest room of the condo (where the AC is located), but it was comfortable enough! We highly recommend this condo for your stay!

Great place to stay!

We were visiting Maui for the first time and chose this location because of it’s proximity to many areas in the island that we wanted to explore. Terri’s home was perfect for us. It had all the comfort and amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. It was like home away from home. Kitchen was fully stocked and I can’t think of anything that was missing in the kitchen. Lot of beach supplies were provided. Would definitely return. Thank you Terri for hosting us!

Perfect Kihei Location

Terri's property is perfectly located walking distance to the beach and included everything you could need when travelling to HI with a toddler - stroller, wagon, towels, beach chairs, toys. This made our trip much easier than lugging all of that or paying an added cost to rent it. Terri was extremely responsive and we appreciated her working with us to extend our stay by one day.

This unit is smack in the middle of everything great in Kihei! It's comfortable, clean, fully equipped, nothing missing! I love it and will be renting here every time I'm back, which is every 3-4 months. Terri is our new best friend!!

Great location

Owner was helpful and had repair man fix a broken ceiling fan right away. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, plates , cooking pans, blender was great. It was nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit. Lots of linens, beach towels and bath towels. It got quite warm in the bedroom, as a/c doesn’t reach it but it helped that there was a ceiling fan. Location near pool was amazing. The info sheet and keyless access was very helpful. We enjoyed the condo amd dealing with the helpful owner.

Beautiful condo steps from the pool, beach & restaurants

Fully equipped centrally located vacation home with everything you need to cook, to head to the beach (beach blanket, towels, chairs, boogie boards, sand toys), toys in the home for the little ones, and beautiful decor to make you feel at home. The pool is right outside the patio door. The gorgeous beach is a 5 minute walk, made easier with the provided wagon to carry all the beach equipment. When we were on the beach on New Year's Eve, families lined up to take sunset photos and a young couple got engaged. We walked to restaurants and used this home as a base for exploring other parts of the island as well. The owner is easy to work with and a courteous, effective communicator. When we had to change our dates, she was very understanding and even let us stay later than check out so we could enjoy the beach right up until we had to leave for our late night flight. Do not hesitate to book this little piece of paradise.

Gary and I love Hawaii. We return there every year to relax. Before we do relax, we always shop for new linens, kitchen supplies, and decor. Gary is retired from teaching at a public school, but still supervises student teachers. I am retired from teaching health and life science at the public schools. I now spend my days helping to watch my grandsons, traveling, cooking, or reading in our garden. We call Southern California our home, for now. We have four, rescue dogs and a bird. Yes, we love animals and miss them all terribly when we are in Hawaii. We have traveled extensively through out the world, but nothing beats Hawaii for beauty and relaxation. Please come, and enjoy Hawaii. We will help you plan your trip and make sure you enjoy every minute.

Kihei Akahi is across from one of the best beaches in Hawaii, and definitely on Maui. Here, you can relax, enjoy the tide pools, watch the whales play from the shore, enjoy the beautiful sunsets, and walk in the sand to your hearts content. Our condo makes for easy access to the pool, the beach, to restaurants, and to evening walks. What more could we ask for!

What makes this property unique

Our home in Hawaii is quiet and peaceful. Close enough to the ocean to walk to every evening to watch the sunset. We enjoy the safety of the island, too. The people are friendly and there are plenty of dogs on the beach to watch play and romp in the water. We love to go in the winter to watch the whales. Sitting on the beach, or driving the coast, we can see whales breach, show off their flukes, or spy hop without going out on a boat. Snorkeling and scuba are easy to do from shore, so the price doesn't get expensive for these activities. Maui is joy to us, and one day we hope to make it a year round home. Come and enjoy!
