Casa De Emdeko is one of the most popular waterfront Condo complexes in Kona; visit just once and, like most of our guests, you'll keep coming back. There is just something magical about Casa de Emdeko - there is a welcoming social atmosphere and you can meet other guests and owners in the evening on the community patio while watching the sunset or bbq'ing and dining oceanfront. Unit #115 is a first floor unit (easy access to everything) and very close to the ocean.

This newly refurbished 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom is on ground floor - easy access and just steps to the sandy beach area (no ocean access) and saltwater pool, yet still very safe, quiet and private. Master bedroom King Bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress. Queen sofa bed in living room. Unit is Approx 700 square feet. Sorry, unit not suitable for children. MAX OCCUPANCY is 2

Watch the amazing SUNSETS from the Tiki Torch lit patio area. Beautiful Community Gazebo and Gas BBQ's for your use. Washer and dryer in unit, additional laundry facility and dryers on property for larger items or loads, new Refrigerator, Dishwasher, newer range/oven, and new Microwave, new Central Air-conditioning. HD Cable Smart TV (with Hi-Def box) in living room connected to DVD, and smaller flat screen TV in bedroom. Bluetooth speaker, games, books and secure Wifi in unit.

The best place to stay on Ali'i Drive

I had an amazing 2 week stay. I have been coming to the Big Island for many years and this was my favorite stay. The unit was super clean and set up. The pool area was beautiful and the sunsets breathtaking. I am looking forward to returning next year.

Friendly spot

A very nice condo with lots of supplies and equipment to make a perfect vacation. The landscaping is gorgeous with an endless shower of fragrant plumeria blossoms. Staff keep the grounds immaculate. Best of all is the friendly community of the resort with the lovely tradition of watching the sunset each evening, including the blowing of the conch shell, while enjoying the gorgeous oceanfront view. Can’t be nicer! And the hosts are near enough to take care of any problems. Great place!

I would definitely stay at the casa de emdeko room 115 again. The owners were wonderful and thier condo was just wonderful! Beautiful property and the best place to see the sunset at thier beach or swimming in the salt pool!!

Great location

Loved the outside common areas. Saw my first green flash sunset there. Host left a couple of beers in the fridge which were appreciated. Easy check in and check out. Nice having a/c if needed.

The location of this place was the best! We loved hearing the ocean at night through the windows. The unit was homey and comfortable. It was also stocked with everything you could possibly every need to be able to cook, personal items, and even items for going on excursions! We also enjoyed having 2 pools and hearing the birds everyday. The only thing was it was hard to get parking at night if you were out late and would need to park outside the gate.

Wonderful property

We loved this condo!! Cathie was wonderful. She was so fast in answering our questions and was a very gracious host. The condo was great and had everything we needed, plus some extra things we didn’t expect (beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, cooler). We felt very safe and welcome. We loved the location! It was close to our 2 favorite outings: Night snorkeling with the manta rays and hiking to the Captain Cook Monument and snorkeling there. We will definitely stay there again!

Fabulous, Fabulous!

The host has outfitted the place perfectly, even leaving quality snorkeling equipment in multiple sizes. The bed was totally comfortable; I even ordered the same sheets when I got home because they were so rich. The surf was extra high while I was there, so the salt pool was closed, alas. I look forward to trying it the next time. Nevertheless I swam in the fresh water pool daily, sat by the waves crashing on the rocks where the small "beach" meets the rocks and watched daily, and I slept with windows open to hear the pounding surf. The condo is far enough from the hustle/bustle of the tourist business district, yet convenient for everything you might want. I'll be back. Mahalo. Mahalo mucho.

Comfortable condo with great outdoor space

The condo was very comfortable, nicely laid out, and well-stocked with water recreation equipment, guidebooks, kitchen supplies, washer/drier and dishwasher. The lanai was pleasant and relatively private, and there were great ocean views in the common areas. Check-in was very easy.

Great Condo

We had a wonderful stay in this condo. It is well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay in the condo and for sightseeing and hitting the beaches. We definitely appreciated being able to access beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards! The complex is well maintained - the lounge chairs on the sand, pools and cabana area are excellent places to relax. We ate out every night and many restaurants are a short drive away with amazing food and views. However- cooking in the condo would be a breeze and the barbecues were in great shape. People seemed to enjoy grilling with the great view right out front. Everyone we met was friendly and we were very comfortable everywhere we went. Thanks for sharing your place with us - we would stay there again in a heartbeat and we had a great trip to the big island.

Great Location

This rental was perfect for our Big Island vacation. Loved the condo being on the first floor with easy access to both pools, bbq area, and to ocean. Amazing!

We had a fabulous time at Casa 115! Everything is as listed. It is so welcoming and charming! We were overwhelmed with all the extras with this unit. They had books galore, games, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards the whole Shabang! Everything was just so comfortable. We really enjoyed taking a dip in the salt water pool after a day of excursions and then settle on the large patio with others to watch the sunset. Everyone is so friendly! I would most definitely love to go back.

It was like being home, away from home. Everything we needed for cooking, eating, cleaning, playing, all there. It was great to walk right out to the pools n group area a few steps from the living room doors. We we very pleased and at peace there. Parking was hit and miss inside the gate, but not really a big deal. Grounds staff was courteous and helpful from the moment we arrived. Would definitely return here in a heartbeat. We stayed a week, then in 2 different hotel type places on Hilo side and kicked ourselves for not just staying the whole 2 weeks at this cozy spot!

Picture of us in Kona on our wedding day (Summer Solstice, 2013). I purchased the property with a friend in 2002 but now John (JP) and I have full ownership. We are both retired and over two years ago we moved to the Big Island (from Corvallis, Oregon and Lake Tahoe,, CA) We love living in Hawaii where we spend most of our time bicycling, paddling, swimming, golfing, snorkeling, exploring out-of-the-way snorkeling spots and preparing fabulous meals for our friends.

What makes this property unique

I love our private beach. There's nothing like getting up early and sitting on the sea wall with a cup of coffee and binoculars..watching for the whales and dolphins. Of course, in the evening it's the same thing, to watch the sunset, only it's with a Mai Tai.
