Quaint cottage, ideal for exploring all south Devon has to offer

Grade 2 listed cottage, in quiet rural location in the heart of South Devon. 3 bedrooms, with bath/shower room, and separate WC makes this ideal for a family of six (up to 7 using the sofa bed), but cosy enough as a romantic retreat for two. Fully fitted kitchen, with all the home comforts for your catering needs.
Easy access to the South Devon coastline, with good sea food restaurants, including Dartmouth, Salcombe, and Kingsbridge. Well known beaches at Bantham, Slapton and Bigbury-on-Sea within an easy drive. About the host

Host profile image
Devon bred and born, from a farming family, I have my own legal consultancy in Exeter, where I live with my wife and two daughters.

Why they chose this property

In 1859, my great, great grandfather, a local farmer purchased a newly built row of terraced cottages in Loddiswell. The Terrace passed down through the farming generations, and two remain in the ownership of my family. This quiet cottage left the family in the 1960s, until January 2019, when I was fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase it.
The name, Loddiswell is believed to derive from the man who had the village well, namely, Lod ! Hence the village is "Lod's Well" or Loddiswell.
Lod's Well is showcased following a Millennium project renovation. Discover it on the right hand side as you walk from the village centre down towards the Avon Mill Garden Centre, next to the river Avon in the valley below the village.

What makes this property unique

Quiet location, relaxing, and lots of character.
Open fireplace, with a good supply of logs.
Free parking close by, and good access to local beauty spots, beaches, towns and villages.
Lots of good eateries within reasonable driving distance.
