My word, where do I start? Communication with the owner, Andy, was EXCELLENT. He was always within reach of my phone text. At one point I looked in vain for an iron and an ironing board and asked him where they were. He said "I failed". The next day he sent me a text with "Package on its way". I texted him: "You didn't!" and he texted back "I did!". An iron and and table-top ironing board arrived the next day. Enough said. There were no fewer than 7 chaise lounges (maybe 8), an amazing and comfortable fire pit (fully stocked with many, many logs), an indoor fireplace stocked with logs, all the dishes, silverware, glasses, DECENT-SIZED coffee mugs, but alas no wine glasses except 3 'balloon-goblets' but I had brought with me 7 flutes for the champagne since it was a celebration week for our daughter's engagement. There were casserole dishes, 3 mix/serv bowls, cookie sheets, coffee maker (no electric kettle - brought our own), We did not dine out even once but then we're both cooks/pastry chefs. There was one huge white serving platter which I used for two nights - perfect. I brought two more platters and was glad I did. The beds were AMAZINGLY comfortable. My husband and I had the downstairs en suite bedroom and loved it although the bureau drawers would never close without work - no big deal. There were TONS of paper towels, toilet tissue, cleaning supplies absolutely everywhere, shampoo (at least 3 or 4 different brands), soft soap, oh my I could go on and on and oh yes, a DRY MOP!! Be still my heart! Rentals never have dry mops so when we rent in the U.S. and can drive I always bring my own but had forgotten it! Andy had it as well as a broom. I could have used a short-handled brush to go with the broom but whatever. It was great for cleaning. My only regret is that as careful as I was with the coffee table (big and on casters!) was that one night after our guests there were white spots on the dark wood from the coffee cups. I was mortified! I used mayonnaise to get rid of the spots but I could still see them when we left. Again, so horrified. The sound downstairs of the waves (on a lake!) lapping the shore was amazing. Sunsets beautiful. Daughter used the SUP, future son-in-law used the kayak, husband fished. It was idyllic, walked up road to visit the goats and ducks (out gate, turn right, half mile on left) so sweet! PERFECT!! GREAT RENTAL and we're at 40-plus rentals in US, UK, France, Italy, NZ, Caribbean...
