Great Place To Stay

Great communication with property owner. House was clean with plenty of rooms and beds for our large group. House was very clean. Check in and out was a breeze. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely getaway

Beautiful and spacious home in a remote setting (about 45 minutes from Pueblo). We had 6 adults and 5 young children and had more than enough space to spread out (didn’t even use the main-floor bedroom). We very much appreciated the large dining room table that accommodated everyone for meals and the large wall of windows in the living room that allowed for views of the mountains, property, and some gorgeous sunsets…as well as the large deck with seating to visit with friends and take in the night sky. The host was very communicative in the week or so leading up to our stay and checked in the day before to make sure there wasn’t anything we needed. It was extremely well-stocked with all the essentials for the kitchen and bathrooms. I did give a 3 for cleanliness only because there were a large number of dead insects on the sill of the previously-mentioned wall of windows as well as some on the floors nearby…and it looked like the floors under the beds and couches hadn’t seen a vacuum in some time (if we didn’t have young kids with small toys that have a tendency to roll under furniture we totally would not have noticed. Regarding the bugs, I recognize that they come with the rustic setting, I just wish they were vacuumed up before our stay). Where it mattered most though- the kitchen, bathrooms, and bed linens- all were very clean! I would caution families traveling with toddlers that there are 2 flights of uncarpeted stairs and no baby gates to block them off (not sure if the host could have provided them but I forgot to ask and could not find them there). Also, the deck railing outside had large spacing between the wooden slats, which a toddler could easily fall through…Not a deal breaker, just an FYI. Ultimately, this was a great property for a getaway, with responsive hosts, and we had a wonderful stay!

Wonderful Place

We had a lovely time at the cabin with our church young ladies' group! There was plenty of space for everyone and the area was beautiful with the snow and the trees!

Heaven in Rye

This is an amazing “cabin”. It was very well equipped for any cooking one would need to do. There was plenty of space and the location was magnificent. Cathy is so sweet and helpful and didn’t get mad when this 71 year old couldn’t find some of Cathy’s emails, which she graciously resent

Amazing place in a remote area!!

This place is amazing and the location is great. We stayed here with a large group of people and it was able to fit all of us with ease. There are a lot of bedrooms/beds so when the description says it can sleep 16 it definitely can. There is plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run around. It is 2 hours to Denver, 2 hours to the sand dunes, 1 1/2 hours to Colorado Springs, it is pretty well located for being able to see a lot of things in the Eastern part of Colorado. The communication with the owner was fantastic, I can't recommend this place enough.

Wonderful!

Really clean and comforting. Secluded and full of trees. 3 foxes came and greeted us a few times. Everything was well taken care of and the owner was very nice. She was so easy to get ahold of and extra accommodating for our family. I would highly recommend this property!

Our stay exceeded our expectations!

The house, deck and property are all very well appointed and maintained. Cathy was very prompt in all communications and the information provided was far more than other properties we have stayed at through our many travels utilizing VRBO. I highly recommend this property and I will stay here when our travels bring us back to the area.

Best Colorado Vacation by far!!!

This place is amazing! The property was stunning. The house is gorgeous and had ample room for our family of 16. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was pretty big. The infinity tub was big too. It was picturesque and soothing to be sitting at the fire inside at night and rocking in the rocking chairs. With huge picture windows in the living room, comfortable couches up and downstairs, a kitchen table to fit us all, big kitchen, the sauna... it cannot even be described on how well our vacation went. They definitely have the renter in mind when the put this together. The little extras that the owner did for us were great. You can tell she loves providing families a great escape. There has been a lot of love put into this property and I can’t suggest a better one to rent out for your gathering. The snow on the property was beautiful. In spots it was almost waist high! Made for great pictures and fun for our kids. There are things to do close to the house. There is a castle to tour, a lake to go to, and other things to do are not too far from there. We are going back in the summer to see what it’s like. Wintertime was a complete win here at the Craftsman Lodge. Great photo opportunities to capture your memories. So glad we found this gem!!

We lived in the mountains in a small town in Germany for 5 years and just loved the clean air, water, and the sense of community. We have been looking for that since we came back to the United States. We have found that in Rye, Colorado! It is a beautiful quaint town where you know and care about your neighbors.

The Greenhorn Mountain and valley has so much to offer an outdoor enthusiast. It’s a great place to get healthy. The views are spectacular they take my breath away just sitting on the Deck or even walking up to the house from the barn. We have seen so much wildlife in their natural setting since we have moved here. I hope my guests will have the same experience as I have every day I wake up and look outside.
