Brief visit to Albuquerque

The casita is so cute with local art and neat textiles and was the perfect size for us and our two college-age sons. We walked each morning around the museums, the nearby park, and Old Town. The location is great and we appreciated its privacy, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Will definitely stay again the next time we are in ABQ.

Great Place to Explore Albuquerque

My wife and I had a fantastic stay here with our two kids of elementary and middle-school ages. The walk to old town and back was pretty easy and there were many other activities in a very short driving distance. The rental itself was super cozy, with everything we needed. We felt safe and comfortable the whole stay.

Albuquerque Casita

This is a lovely home to stay. Sakari is an excellent host. This property is in a great location to Old Town and close grocery shopping. Everything was very clean and well appointed. Lovely outside area to sit in the evening w a glass of wine. Comfy beds. Sakari had thought of everything a traveler would need. Thank you for being a great host and sharing this lovely vacation rental.

Great Unit but Homeless Closeby

Super cute unit, well decorated and had everything we needed. The owners definitely know how to do this. The only thing is that we didn't feel safe. Sketchy area with transients walking around. Homeless people laying around in the morning. Not in the immediate yard of this unit but in the neighborhood. I would suggest a gate that we could have closed to keep our vehicle and yard closed off to any transients during the night. Many of the neighbors close off their yards at night and it would help as a safety precaution.

Enjoyable Spring Break!

The Casita was just as described, with everything needed for a family of 3 to enjoy their stay in ABQ. A bit of walking, but definitely within reason, to get to Old Town. We were comfy and pleased with the entire setup. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful stay

The house was super cold when we walked in but as soon as we turned on the heaters it warmed up quickly. The beds were comfy and the pots and pans selection was pretty nice.

Cozy place in the heart of the city

We stayed here for a week during the holidays as we were visiting family in town. The house was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. We were a group of 4 adults and were very happy with the accommodations. The home is cozy and well decorated. There were several space heaters plus wall units which we utilized because of the winter weather. There were also plenty of extra blankets, pillows and the beds were comfortable. There were also cabinets with games and puzzles to pass the time. Absolute great location to see many of the popular sites like Old Town (beautiful at Christmas time), museums, zoo, botanical gardens etc. For the farther attractions the freeway is literally 5 mins away. Would definitely stay here again.

Cute House

The house was clean, cute, and comfortable! We loved our stay in ABQ. The location is very industrial and not quite what we expected but close to Old Town (though not really walkable). Communication with the home owner and instructions were quick and clear. Recommend this house for stays in ABQ!

Short & Sweet Stay

We enjoyed our stay at this little Kaseeta. The neighborhood is up-and-coming and felt a little sketchy after dark but during the day it was Perfect for walks to local breweries and shops. The place was clean and well decorated. There were five of us who met from across the country to go to the hot air balloon festival, everything was so close, which made it perfect for our visit. We would definitely come back to this property. Thank you again for having us.

Perfect ABQ Stay!

My husband and I had such a great time staying at this casita. The place was clean and felt like a home away from home for a week. Old Town was just a short walk away and it was so nice and quiet at night for restful sleep. The place had everything we needed, including a full kitchen and a washer and dryer which came in handy after several days. Would definitely stay again!

This place is great!

We were super happy with our stay in this beautifully decorated, very clean casita. It had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Sakari was very responsive and was helpful when we needed are daughter’s grad books delivered there. The location is perfect. I can’t say enough good things about this place. We would definitely return 😀

perfect location

The location is within walking distance of restaurants and also museums and a park is also nearby. The neighborhood felt safe for walking. The rental was a good size but if you are fixing food be aware there is a very limited pantry. The coffee pot is a Keurig with only a few pods. It was very clean and I enjoyed my stay 100%.

Great location in great place

We loved our stay at Sakari’s place in the Sawmill area! The place was perfectly described in the ad and perfectly furnished with everything that we needed. It is centrally located and close to the Old Town, but still nice and quiet. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

About the host

Hosted by Sakari Graves

Host profile image
My husband and I love travel and enjoy meeting people from around the world. We enjoy hosting guests at our little vacation home in Albuquerque, NM. Travel is a wonderful way to create special memories that will last a lifetime, so we do our very best to create memorable stays for our guests.

Why they chose this property

We have taken great care to create a comfortable and welcoming experience for you. Our home is in an urban neighborhood called the Sawmill District, nestled between Downtown, Old Town and the Rio Grande River. We are a short walk to the historic Old Town plaza, cafes, restaurants and museums – and a short drive to the historic Route 66 and Zoo. The Sawmill District is becoming a vibrant and eclectic neighborhood. Please make sure you are comfortable in urban environments before booking. Our house is on a unique private lot accessible by a gravel alley. Though we do not live on site, we travel there often and love our neighbors, New Mexico’s rich culture and traditions.

What makes this property unique

We are only a 10-15 minute walk to numerous historic and cultural attractions, trendy neighborhood breweries, cafes, bars, eateries and a neighborhood park. Some of the attractions you will find in the immediate area include; Old Town Albuquerque (historic town square with boutiques and restaurants), New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, Albuquerque Art Museum, Explora: The Children's Museum, Tiguex Park, Ponderosa Brewing Company and Hotel Chaco (voted as one of Albuquerque's best rooftop bars). Our home is in a quirky neighborhood that is in transition. It has a patchwork of old and new houses, dirt and paved roads, old wooden fences and adobe walls. It is one of the historic neighborhoods in Albuquerque that is now undergoing a revival. Most of the homes are densely situated near one-another. Our casita is unique in the area in that we have a sizable pocket of space around us, a small gravel courtyard, bordered by a modest-fence with a nice brick patio that we just had built. We feel safe in the neighborhood at night, and frequently walk into Old Town, Downtown or breweries in the area when we are home.

By car, Lyft or Uber, we are only about 10 minutes away from I-25 and I-40; 15 minutes to the airport and a short drive away from all of the regional attractions that Albuquerque has to offer, like the; historic Route 66, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Downtown, ABQ Bio Park Aquarium and Zoo, Nob Hill, Green Jeans Farmery and hiking around La Sandia mountain. Finally, if you are coming to town for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, we are only about a 25 minute drive to Balloon Fiesta Park. You have many transportation/mobility options near our home, including; bus transit stops, scooter and bike rentals - with bike lanes nearby. If you are driving your own car, we allow our guests to park up to two vehicles in our private courtyard.

We hope you will come and join us in Albuquerque. All are welcome in our casita.
