A fully furnished and beautifully remodeled Loft Cottage with an open floor plan and a large upper bedroom Loft; sleeps 2 and has 1-1/2 baths. It is less than 150 feet from Lake Huron and 2/10 of a mile walk to the beautiful sandy beach. The loft with balcony view of Lake Huron is breathtaking! Experience an unforgettable Lake Huron beach vacation with all the comforts and conveniences of home. The loft cottage main floor is beautifully furnished with a gorgeous leather loveseat and 2 comfortable sitting chairs suitable for reading and lounging, and a solid oak mission style dining table and chairs. It is accompanied with everything you need for your stay including a beautifully designed kitchen with island seating, cookware, dinnerware, storage, and many essentials, as well as Pottery Barn bedding and fine linens. As the sun rises above the horizon, a new day calls you outside to the enchanting water and beaches on the shores of Lake Huron. Although a small town, East Tawas has a very lively downtown area with many small specialty shops, restaurants, and bars, as well as a movie theater. Tawas Point State Park is 2-1/2 miles away to hike and enjoy unique bird sitings. Enjoy biking the shoreline to Tawas Bay, hiking or cross-country skiing at nearby Tawas Point State Park, Lumberman’s Monument, and Iargo Springs and Corsair Trails (10 miles West). Enjoy kayaking on Lake Huron or the AuSable River (13 miles N), and standup paddle boarding, kite boarding, and boogie boarding offered in the waters and at the beaches of Lake Huron at Tawas Point State Park. Enjoy Your escape to the breathtaking Lake Huron beach just a short walk to any cross street access to the beautiful sandy beach. Dream home near the lake

This home is decorated beautifully and stocked with everything you could possibly need. With a short walk to the beach, the hosts gave us everything from chairs to a cooler/picnic gear. The communication with the hosts was supreme. Perfect place for those looking for an extended stay. I am already looking forward to coming back!

Perfect!

Just a relaxing weekend away. Explored the area without crowds. Nice to come "home" to a place to call our own, if even just for a few days. We could relax, read, watch TV or whatever. Highly recommend this host and cottage.

Quick visit

Home was impeccable and hosts were extremely helpful. Unfortunately, the weather was freezing and it was difficult to stay warm. We tried to walk to end of street to get a glimpse of Lake Huron but a neighbor rudely informed us it was private property. There wasn’t another sole around -all we wanted was a Quick Look as it was too cold for anything else. Perhaps in the warmer weather it’s easier to get beach access and the welcome book did give directions to beach but at that point we were put off and too cold to venture out. The pictures of place were very accurate and I’m so happy to have stayed in such a beautiful home but the surrounding area was not what we expected. However, if I ever needed a place to stay in this area I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.

Clean and classy

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. The place was perfect, cozy, clean, warm, and classy. We would stay there again. The only issue we had, we thought there was a jacuzzi. Not far from the beach.

Exceeded expectations!

This cottage not only exceeded expections but was exactly what the listing portrayed. The cottage was a perfect fit for my wife and I and the beach was also a 10 out of 10. Pros -cottage feel with wood paneling - The loft style is a perfect fit for couples - front porch swing nice touch - Porch outside loft bedroom with beautiful view - clean and well stocked kitchen with updated appliances - timely communication with owner - welcome basket - comfy robes - beach essentials for our use We will definitely return Thanks!

Beautiful cabin and awesome location

My husband and I stayed for the week with our adult daughters visiting for the weekend. This was a very clean cabin with a nice layout. The location is close to things to do but also very quiet. We felt like we were all on our own. The owners are nice and reach out occasionally to check on how things are going. We would definitely stay here again. It felt like home!

Quaint cottage

Completely impressed with cottage. Cleanliness is extremely important to us and this was just what I hoped for. It was well furnished in all areas of the cottage. Loved the deck to watch the morning sunshine and the evening end. Close proximity to town and the state park which had nice beach area. A pleasure to stay here.

Beautiful Loft Cottage with Lake Huron Views

We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay at this beautiful loft cottage just steps away from Lake Huron. Great Kitchen, bath and large loft with balcony view of Lake Huron. The owners are friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay!

This cottage exceeded our expectations. It was a very comfortable layout, very clean with all the amenities we needed for the week. The private beach was about a quarter mile walk and it was beautiful. We recommend this property for a couple or small family stay.

Clean and comfortable, nice getaway!

The cottage was all it was advertised to be. Very clean, everything you could need was provided. We struggled with getting the air on and the owner responded right away with an instructional video. Beautiful view of Lake Huron from the balcony and a close drive to town. We would return and I have suggested this property to friends.

So nice!!

Our stay was just amazing. Such a cute house with everything you need. The beautiful beach is just a short walk away and is so relaxing. The hosts were so sweet to leave some chocolate and wine. It was also very nice to have the use of the wagon and beach supplies in the storage shed. Everything was pristine and we loved it. Thank you to the most wonderful hosts!

Cozy Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed this quaint, cozy, relaxing loft cottage for an extended weekend away before the 4th of July. The cottage was so much better than the pictures with its awesome décor. It was very comfortable with all its furnishings which were beyond belief, including a very comfortable bed. Everything made our stay oh so pleasant. We enjoyed the balcony, the short walks to Lake Huron and a peaceful wooded neighborhood even though it is a holiday weekend. We would stay here again. I would highly recommend this cottage!

Quiet Lake Huron get away

We thoroughly enjoyed this cozy, relaxing loft cottage for an extended weekend away from the kids. The rental was spotless with comfy bedding and thoughtful details at every turnto make our stay more pleasant. Although situated in a residential neighborhood, it remained very quiet and the beautiful wooded lot reminded us we were up north. The sandy beach was worth the short walk with crystal clear water and very few people.

Beautiful property and location

This VRBO is perfect for a short or long stay. Everything in this cottage is up-to-date and spick-and-span clean. This rental checks all the boxes for the best vacation rental in the Tawas area. Quiet neighborhood? Yes. Beautifully appointed living areas, kitchen, bedrooms and bath? Yes. Screened-in windows to let in cool lake breezes? Yes. View of the lake? Yes. Hosts are welcoming (chocolates from Village Chocolatier and beverages in the refrigerator) and easy to get in touch with if you have questions or need help with something. They care about their guests and provide everything necessary for an enjoyable vacation!

Property is not lake front; please update profile. Did not provide dark colored hand towels to use and charged $16 for its use. The many places we have stayed either offered dark-colored towels or place a sign on the countertop regarding usage.

Tranquility in Tawas

Beautiful cabin. Clean, relaxing and close to everything. I love this cabin because it is close to my son's sailboat at the Marina near the State Park and not far from a nice sandy private beach. The owners are easy to communicate with. The beds are comfy and I always have everything I need here. I always enjoy myself in Tawas. I will be back next summer.

We love the cottage it is perfect for us.

It’s walking distance to Lake Huron, which you can hear and see from the balcony. It’s a bike ride to town, Tawas point state park and the pier. The Blue festival and wine tastings are a lot of fun! The cottage feels like home to us! The view in ever direction is beautiful! Love the scent and visuals of all the many kinds of tall pines. The bedding is so welcoming! Quiet stay, with lake view!

The cottage was really nice, very quiet, secluded and well appointed. The owners were great to work with - they quickly and kindly responded to all of our questions, which we very much appreciated! A couple of minor quibbles: It's on us that we didn't reach back out to the owners for clarity, but beach access described as just north of the cottage was hard to identify (no public parking, just one clear path between private homes with a sign labeled Private Beach - was that our access?), so we just decided to take a short drive south to Tawas State Park instead. Spidery webs and insects on the balcony, near the side entrance and other spots made the place feel less inviting to us, although, sure, it's a cottage in a wooded lot. The cottage inside was very clean, but there are areas where the cleaning crew has let the owners down we think, as there were examples where window openings, light fixtures and the odd end table was dust/cobweb covered. Overall - this is a comfortable stay, just far enough out of downtown to forget your troubles and just chill.

Lovely Lake View Cottage

This cottage was perfect for me. It was very nicely furnished and decorated just like the photos show. The beds were comfy, the view was very pretty from the upstairs balcony and it was such a short drive to the marina and our boats, to the State Park and also to downtown. The kitchen was well equipped and the upstairs 1/2 bath was very convenient. All in all very cozy, comfy and beautiful. I will be coming back soon!

We both were born and raised in Southeast Michigan, and had a connection to beautiful and pristine Northeast Michigan. We spent many vacations with family and friends on or around the shores of Lake Huron. When we married, we bought a vacation home in East Tawas. We found the the shores of Lake Huron provided a peaceful and fulfilling environment at the same time all the qualities and serenity of small town Lake life. After living out of state for several years, once we both retired, our vacation home became our permanent home. We enjoy the tranquil, peaceful and worry-free life on beautiful Lake Huron, where the calmest of days provide peacefulness to the soul, and the blistering days and ferociousness of the water awakens our senses and stimulates our adventure to another beautiful day on Lake Huron.

We wish to share with others the tranquil quality of life on Lake Huron that we enjoy. We purchased this Cottage Loft home so others may experience the pristine peacefulness and every changing Lake Huron. And we hope it will draw people back to the Lake over and over again, to fulfill their soul and provide a new adventure every time.

What makes this property unique

The uniqueness of the Cottage Loft, from it’s new and beautifully accomplished interior walls, floors, and unique fine finishes, to the exterior quality construction and appointments. From the porch swing to the lighted pathway from the driveway, it is beautiful workmanship. It was newly upgraded and remodeled in 2018 with the finest of finishings from the fully equipped kitchen to the shower with a cascading waterfall tile wall, and the beautiful wood flooring of the Loft. We were drawn to the quaintness of the interior, but also to the views of Lake Huron 150 feet away from the Loft balcony and sitting areas, where others may come and enjoy rest and relaxation, and be able to rejuvenate their souls.
