Perfect Stay
This was an exceptional property. We use self catering accommodation whenever we travel with our dog Bailey. This was one of the best quality inside and out. The owners have thought of everything.

Super place to stay
We used the cottage as a base to stay for visits over the border to Wales and on to Chester on our last day. It was so cosy and comfortable to return to, very private and peaceful. Great selection of pubs nearby too with excellent food. Would highly recommend

Lovely Hideyhole
Cosy little cottage in a great location. Gorgeous walks, close to Chester and Nantwich for mooching around and we had a fab meal in nearby dog friendly pub. Stayed two nights but thought an extra night would have been better as we didn’t even get a chance to more than a few local walks! Would definitely revisit but maybe when warmer to take advantage of the lovely outdoor eating area.

We adored our stay here.
We booked months in advance to make sure that we were able to stay here over Christmas & New Years, and it made for a wonderful festive break. Friendly & welcoming, upon arrival we were greeted by Chris & Graham who had set-up the cute cosy cottage to ensure we had a pleasurable stay with them. A lot of attention to detail had been paid as EVERYTHING had been thought of - from tasteful Christmas decorations, to a welcome Christmas drink, to Continental breakfast items, even down to a dog crate that we had forgotten to bring. Every box had been ticked. Barton Bank's location allows for dog walks in the countryside; food and drink at a country pub only a five minute walk away; and spa facilities, castles & nationally protected properties only a short drive away. It's worth bearing in mind, that depending on your network phone reception is limited; however, there is very good wifi provided. Improvements: There are only two things we would change - the sink and the shower. The kitchen sink is very small, which is made even smaller by the short neck spout - just washing my hands meant water running over the kitchen counter - a swan neck swivel tap would solve this and would prevent any potential water damage. The shower is very low pressure making hair washing difficult, but a simple replacement for a modern unit would once again overcome this. Everything else was perfect and couldn't be faulted. We adored our stay here, and would definitely return. Thank you.

Great place
It's a lovely cottage with a nice view and dog friendly the owners made us feel very welcome and we're available for any problems or questions. Although the cottage is lovely it's a little bit small if you plan to stay there for a week or more especially when the weather isn't good, outside space is plenty with a well maintained garden. Would we go back to this cottage ?? Yes definitely 😁

2nd Stay, perfect once again!
This was our second stay at the cottage and it was just perfect once again. We had a lovely relaxing break between Xmas and new year and are already looking at coming back in the spring/summer to take advantage of the lovely outside areas. Perfectly located for many fabulous dog friendly pubs and restaurants, we wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much, hopefully see you again in 2023 x

Wonderful
Everything was exactly as described and very comfortable plus the owners were so friendly and helpful and made the stay even better. The cottage is a self-contained brick built renovated stable overlooking fields (and the new stables). It’s a one room (plus nice sized bathroom) unit - not massive but ideal for what we needed plus there’s a great outdoor space with an oak Dutch barn-style area for al-fresco dining (no dining table inside due to space but there are folding stools to sit at the kitchen if need be). Lots of good pubs nearby too and many things to do in the area - NT’s Chirk Castle & Eddrig and Chester all less than 30 mins drive. Really enjoyed our three night stay and would definitely return. Thank you 😊
