Comfy log home in a forested setting of firs, aspens and cottonwoods with seasonal creeks running thru. End of the road privacy on the west side of Hamilton, only 10 minutes from downtown. Watch the deer, turkeys and even the occasional moose from your back door as you sip your morning coffee. Spend your afternoons on one of the many activities available to you in the Bitterroot Valley. Fly fish the Bitterroot River, known for its blue-ribbon trout fishing, just 5 minutes away; or maybe you'd prefer to float it on an innertube. Go for a hike up Blodgett Trail (5 miles away). Bike or hike Lake Como loop, and stop at the beach for some sunning and swimming. Reserve a mountain trail ride in Darby. Lost Trail Ski Area and Chief Joseph Pass are within 50 minutes for winter skiing activities. Stop at the local craft breweries on your way home for dinner and drinks. Bring the family or just a group of friends for a memorable experience.

The space
Fully stocked kitchen with refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, dishes, cookware, cooking and eating utensils. Bedroom 1 has queen bed and 2 dressers. Bedroom 2 is extra large with a bookshelf divider; one side has a twin and double bed, other side has a queen bed. Walk in closet with dressers. Family room has wood burning stove, TV, DVD player, WiFi, and board games for entertainment. Mud room has washer & dryer. Tiled tub/shower in bathroom with blow dryer. Out door patio has picnic table with extra seating and Weber grill.

Cozy Quiet Cabin

I rented this for a weekend with my grandma and my partner, and it was the perfect remote (but not too remote) cabin for us! Beautifully decorated with all things vintage with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The property is gorgeous and overlooks the bitterroot valley. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a nice quiet spot to relax with your family, doing some cookouts (there’s a great porch out back), and it’s only 10 minutes from Hamilton. If we ever visit again we will be sure to stay here.

The house was perfect and had a fully stocked kitchen. The ambiance was amazing. Privacy and quiet. We didn’t want to leave. The owners are very nice and responsive to any and all questions.

This was our second time staying here and is the first place we look for to see if its available when we go to Montana. The property is lovely and peaceful. We really enjoy the wildlife on the property. Bob and Sylvia are wonderful hosts.

Beautiful!

Hamilton is beautiful, and the cabin and surrounding property are lovely. We had a wonderful time, and the kids were especially excited to stay in a cabin. Everything was clean, comfortable, and charming. The fall colors, blue skies, and warm weather also worked out perfectly!

Cabin surrounded by trees with deer and turkeys walking through. Roomy, clean, and comfortable cabin close enough to town if you need something. What more could you ask for? Well worth the price.

Bitterroot experience

Great place to stay. We were fishing for a week and good location for the water we had chosen. Wildlife everywhere on the property, even saw a moose. Friendly hosts.

Outstanding in every way

The location, the home, the property - all absolutely 1st class. One would be hard pressed to find a better, more convenient rental in the Hamilton area. The owners, Sylvia & Bob have gone above & beyond to make sure that guests want for nothing. And that lawn .. ! Sublime barefoot therapy.

Peaceful serenity

This property was close to town and yet what seemed like in the Mountains. Wildlife could be seen from every window. The inside of the cabin was warm when we got there with an incase you forgot basket. There is enough dishes, pots and pans in the kitchen one is able to cook just about anything. We left some things behind and the owners were so kind to reach out to family close by so they could pick it up. We would stay here again when we come to town.

Sweet Little Cabin on a Hill

We stayed here on a whim, while traveling around Montana in early September. It's a super neat, well appointed little cabin with a great view of the valley below. Every evening and morning we were visited visited by a family of deer as well as a large pack of turkeys. There were many family friendly board games to play to while away the time, and very importantly for working travelers, the internet was more than acceptable. We knew nothing about Hamilton, the local town, but to our surprise it was a really neat little town with several restaurants, cafe's and little shops to walk through. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area and highly recommend it to anybody looking to get away someplace quiet.

About the host

After a summer road trip with the kids through Montana, we fell in love with this area and purchased this home in 2005 as a vacation home. We would spend most of our summers here as well as Christmas. In 2015 my husband and I moved up here permanently and lived full time in this home while we built a main house on the property where we currently reside. Kids are all grown now and on their own, but they still love coming here.

Why they chose this property

What attracted us to this property was that it offered a mixed forested setting, with meadow, pasture and creeks running through. It feels private and secluded, yet it is only 10 minutes to downtown Hamilton, close to the hospital, post office and government agencies, as well as grocery stores, restaurants and shopping. Its also very close to the Bitterroot River, as my husband is an avid fly-fisherman!

What makes this property unique

This property offers great wildlife viewing....we have deer, turkeys, quail, as well as the occasional elk and moose browsing through our property, not to mention the multitude of birds that visit every spring and summer. We also have a great view across the valley, directly over downtown Hamilton.
