Lake house
This is a lovely and clearly very loved family home in a wonderful setting just moments from the lake.
It is very clean and has plenty of room but did have some negative aspects which is why I have given low stars but I am sure these could be rectified by the owner and then this would be a perfect place to stay for any family.
On arrival we asked about the hot tub but were told it was broken, had been for some time and there was no way of knowing if or when it would be mended. We took a look and it was dirty and it appeared that it had not been maintained for some time.
The lower floor had a very damp musty smell, particularly the 2 bedrooms which are adjacent to the pool room. This was so significant that the smell lingered on our clothes even once we were home.
A lot of the house has a conservatory style plastic roof - both dining areas and a hallway but there are no blinds for these and no opening roof windows so the ground floor of the house heated up very rapidly and couldn’t be cooled even after dark. There were no fans or A/C available and so it was really very uncomfortable.
