Stay in the Park. No day-use reservations needed!
You've found the ideal place to stay and get to all the main Yosemite attractions! Yosemite Valley, Tunnel View, Bridal Falls, Cathedral Beach, Badger Pass Snow and Ski Area, Mariposa Grove, dozens of breathtaking hikes and more in just under 30 minutes! Skip the day-use reservations, chain controls, longer drive, slow traffic and gate waits - stay with us in Yosemite National Park most central location.
Enjoy your Yosemite West homey studio with attached kitchenette and private full bathroom. Feel the morning chill of the mountains under magnificent sugar pines - relax outside in your own sitting area, take all the views while sipping your morning coffee in and the BREAKFAST is on us!
Park for free in our covered and dry carport - no need to shovel out your car from the snow in the morning!
You will enjoy natural social distancing here - with your own private entrance, your own BBQ on your own deck. Fully automated self check-in and check-out and no interaction with the host required!
Relax after long day in your cozy suite, take always hot shower and bath after great hike, have a good rest in warm and comfortable queen bed with fireplace gently glowing nearby. Enjoy huge 65' TV with great selection of most recent movies, AppleTV games and High Definition Dish channels. Snacks and Continental breakfast will wait for you in the fridge on the arrival nicely packed in the trays if you decide to take it out to the picnic.
The entire studio, kitchenette, full bathroom and outside sitting area is for your exclusive use only! Not shared with anyone else. You are in very safe area here. All doors are lockable for your peace and comfort, security cameras are installed overlooking the carport and driveway and recording 24/7. Entrance door has a Smart Lock with the Keypad and your unique code for full privacy and fully automated check in.
If you ever need us - we are always available on the messenger! We also live in Yosemite West so we can help you in person with anything! We will be happy to have you with us here in the heart of Yosemite!
Texts and Calls are only second best - here is why: The cellular phone reception in Yosemite West is limited to Verizon. There are pockets of reception when travelling in Yosemite and there is more reception in the valley. When using the messenger you know right away that the message was sent and we are getting notifications in several ways: in the app, on the email and text (thanks technology!) - so we know you are looking for us. Once we see your message - we will address it right away!
If you decide to call, please text us first. Please text your name and check in date so we can find your booking and we will call you back on that number.
Our park is big. You will need a car. Yet you can get to all the major nature wonders in under half an hour of relaxing drive!
For Wawona (25 min) and Giant Sequoias (30 min) - exit Yosemite West and take right on hwy 41
For Tunnel View (20 min) and Yosemite Valley (25 min) - exit Yosemite West and take left on hwy 41
For Badger Pass Ski and Snow Park (20 min) - exit Yosemite West and take left on hwy 41, take right on the next junction
AT THE GATE (RESERVATIONS):
A reservation will be required to drive into Yosemite National Park from May 20 through September 30, 2022. We have you covered! When staying with us we will take care of the reservation and there is nothing required from your side.
All vehicles entering Yosemite National Park will be required to pay the park entrance fee. Upon showing proof of your reservation and a matching photo ID at the entrance station, you will be issued a vehicle permit to enter the park.
Here is more information how it works: https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/reservations.htm
TRANSPORTATION:
There are no shuttle buses (Yarts) in Yosemite West. The closest stop for Yarts is in the valley and in Wawona. There are no Uber, Lift or taxi as well. Free Yosemite Valley shuttles have resumed and running.
Don't forget your GROCERIES!
The last stops for groceries are in Oakhurst (Hwy. 41), Mariposa (Hwy. 140), Oakdale (Hwy. 120 from Modesto) and Lee Vining (Hwy. 120 from the eastern approach to the Park - SUMMER ONLY !!!). There are two small markets approximately 25 minutes travel time from here, but are less reasonable and have a more limited selection
ROAD CLOSURES:
Please, be sure to call 1-800-427-ROAD (California Roads) and 1-209-372-O2OO (Yosemite National Park Roads) for most updated road conditions (https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/conditions.htm)
Glacier Point Road will be closed to all traffic in 2022 to rehabilitate and improve the road. The only access to Glacier Point will be via the Four Mile, Panorama, and Pohono Trails, all of which are strenuous hikes. There will be 30-minute delays in 2023.
WINTER ROAD CLOSURES
Tioga Road closes due to snow, usually from sometime in November through late May or early June. The road closure extends from the Tuolumne Grove, just east of Crane Flat, to Tioga Pass Entrance Station. (Highway 120, the continuation of the Tioga Road outside the park, is often closed in winter from Tioga Pass to five miles west of Lee Vining.)
When the Tioga Road is closed, it is not possible to drive to Tuolumne Meadows or enter Yosemite National Park from the east. All other park entrances, including those along Highway 120 from the west, Hetch Hetchy, Highway 140, and Highway 41, remain open all year.
Mariposa Grove Road and associated shuttle system close for the season on or about November 30 and reopen no earlier than March 15 (but usually not until sometime in April).
Glacier Point Road closes due to snow, usually from sometime in November through late May or early June. From approximately mid December through March, the first five miles of this road are open to the Badger Pass Ski Area
CHAINS (IMPORTANT!):
In winter, EVEN WHEN THE ROADS ARE CLEAR AND THE SKIES ARE BLUE, it is mandatory that you carry tire chains in your car, EVEN FOR 4-WHEEL-DRIVE VEHICLES. If you do not have them, and you encounter an inspection roadblock, you will be turned back to buy chains before you will be allowed to proceed. Chains are often required on roads both inside and outside of Yosemite from November through March, less often in October and April, and rarely in September or May. Winter driving restrictions are enforced in Yosemite!
WEATHER: snow, rain, ice and wind may happen, yet Yosemite gets mostly stable and beautiful weather. Here is what we use for local forecast: https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-119.71429735422132&lat=37.65195615477212#.Ybt9RtDMKUn
KITCHENETTE: induction cooktop (pot/pan), mid-size fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine are provided.
BBQ grill is available right outside on your deck.
CELLULAR: In Yosemite West you will have reception for Verizon and Sprint only. ATT will not work, unless you are in the valley.
INTERNET: WiFi is Satellite Based and free data is limited to 1024MByte/device/24hours. You can buy more data for couple of dollars. Consider to bring Verizon JetPack (or use your Verizon phone hotspot) for cellular internet
ENTERTAINMENT: 65' TV with wide selection of movies, Apple TV games, Dish Satellite High Definition choice of channels. Satellite service can be interrupted (ie snow on the dish). You also have an option to download your content when home on your laptop and connect it to our SmartTV through HDMI.
COOLING/HEATING: There is window AC in your suite (summer only). The fireplace in the studio can be used for ambiance and heating. There is also central heating - please send a message to adjust.
STAIRS: Yosemite West is 6000 feet elevation mountain village built on a hillside. Our home enjoys beautiful forest and filtered mountain views. One of the natural downsides is climbing the stairs and our home is not an exception. Your suite is on the upper floor and it takes two and half flights of stairs to get to your private deck and front door.

About the host
Hosted by Nila and Alexey Chinkov

Hi there! My name is Alexey. I am in my early forties, moved to US just a few years ago and live in Folsom CA
I grew up in Russia and still have family there. Made my bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. Enjoy programming and fine mix of Electronics and Software. Could not stop playing computer games during my school years and traveled a lot around the world whenever got a chance.
Later in my life I met a nice girl called Nila. We have three kids together now. We also have a big dog, black Russian terrier named Bulya and cat named Lol
Currently working for Intel Semiconductors for seventeen years, yet always wanted to have a thing of my own. Hosting is a first real opportunity to create a family business: a right mix of real estate investment, hard work to create unforgettable experience for you, meeting with different people, hospitality and entrepreneurship.
Nila and I are very committed to our success. Working hard together brought us closer to share the same vision and goals. We have learned a lot about ourselves.
We will be happy to help you with anything during your stay with us and make sure your stay with us is pleasant, comfortable and memorable.

Why they chose this property
In my twenties and thirties I was travelling a lot. Think hiking, mountaineering, rappelling, skiing and more stuff you can do outdoors. When you have home, family and kids doing great outdoors becomes more of the dream for many. Fortunate enough we can combine both by having our home in the middle of the best outdoors out there - Yosemite! We are very happy for the opportunity to share our home and outdoors with you.
What makes this property unique
Travelling in Yosemite should not be such a big challenge. Difficulty to find comfortable accommodation, food and long drives can be daunting even to the seasoned traveler. Luckily we can offer it all here in our home - with accommodation more affordable than renting a full house or room in the historical hotel, our clean and homey studio is a perfect place to rest and still be in the center of everything the park has to offer. And we have also solved a most important part of the daily meal - our breakfast will wait for you in the fridge to have it when you are ready for early take off or on-the-go.
