Nice cabin
The good: The forest surrounding the cabin was beautiful, and the house had a nice, cozy feel with a knotty-pine interior. The five-mile dirt road to the cabin was a spectacular drive, surrounded by dense trees with lots of deer crisscrossing the road. However, if you’re driving this road late at night, do not mention the Blair Witch Project to your wife or young ones. The owner is very polite and responsive, and the house rules are short and sweet.
The not so good: Like the earlier guest stated, the faucet water was not drinkable—it was yellow. Therefore, we bathed, brushed teeth, etc., using bottled water. We weren’t expecting The Four Seasons, so this was fine. There was also considerable staining and liquid splatter over the miniblinds in the main bedroom. And the pillows were stained. Easy fixes, which could’ve been caused by the previous renter.
FYI: There is no cell phone service within several miles of the cabin and no WiFi (which we actually loved). Additionally, the photos show that the house is by the water, but it’s a very swampy area.
Other than that, if you’re looking for a somewhat secluded cabin to get away (there is one neighbor a few feet away and another down the road) this is a nice option.
