About this property

Treetops- Peaceful, Contemporary Chalet set above Gatlinburg w/Mt Leconte view

***Level-2 60amp dedicated EV charger!

Treetops Chalet is a cozy cabin but with a free-flowing open-floor plan containing rustic elements and natural materials, along with oversized windows that allow all areas to enjoy natural light and views through the whole day! Enjoy perfect location as Treetops is nestled close to the borders of the Smoky Mtn N.P. and with only a 5-minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg and main entrance to the Park as well as Ober Mountain Resort right down the road. The Chalet is great if you just want to stay home in nature and enjoy the mountain views. Enjoy excellent 'self-contained' recreation: integrated outdoor spaces with gas grill, hot tub, well equipped kitchen, hi-speed WIFI Internet, Smart TVs, 64-game commercial arcade machine, family games, and books of local interest.

Treetops has the 'bones' of a traditional mountain cabin, but has been modernized with functional high-end, modern finishes common to upscale accommodation that will suit the needs of a family or a small group 6-7 adults (with use of loft twin-daybed). The Chalet can be entered either through the side door by way of a 5-step staircase or the backdoor - accessible by a ramp.

The first floor includes an open, airy living room/dining room/kitchen that are fully renovated yet maintain the classic lodge atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped and has black-steel appliances while the living room includes a riverstone wood-burning fireplace with large, pull-down 65” Smart TV. These spacious common areas have been tastefully renovated to complement the natural setting while the kitchen and bathrooms have been completely modernized with walk-in showers and glass partitions. Downstairs is a king bedroom with wall mounted Smart TV, modernized bathroom, and utility/wash room with door exiting to back deck. The second floor includes a modern bathroom, and individual king and queen bedrooms with wall mounted Smart TVs alongside the open loft area that is equipped with daybed for supplemental reading/relaxing next to a side wall of windows and an authentic cocktail-style arcade machine.

The Chalet is situated on top of a wooded ridge with expansive views of the forest and mountain views from all rooms. The front wall of windows is set up high, looking towards Mt. Leconte in the Smoky Mountains. The back and sides also have custom, oversized bedroom windows that take in the peaceful, wooded setting of the opposing mountain ridges. The location is heavily wooded with flowering mountain laurel bushes but opening to capture good view of the surrounding ridges. Through much of the year you are likely to have daily black bear sightings as a bear trail runs along the ridge behind the Chalet.

Treetops has a front deck with café tables that make it the perfect spot to enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee or enjoy the sunset reflected off Mt Leconte in the early evening. In back you will find 2 decks with a favorable shady setting in the forest with views of the mountains. This upper deck contains a hot tub and the lower deck a Weber gas grill along with dining area . The area is perfect for enjoying the afternoon and early evening, as it is largely shielded from direct sunlight, but captures the last light of the day. Day turns into night with suspended, LED patio lights allowing entertaining into the evening!

Access to the Chalet Village members' clubs in summer expands the recreational possibilities. Homeowner's clubs include swimming pools, tennis courts, playground, fitness center and other facilities are available to guests during season (end of May through end of August for pools). Treetops is only half a mile to the South Chalet Village owner’s club with the largest pool, located at 1319 South Baden Dr. Ober Mountain Ski Resort and Amusement Park, downtown Gatlinburg including Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, and the main entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park as well as park visitor center (Sugarlands) are approx. 5 min. drive away. Dollywood and the attractions of Pigeon Forge are a short 10-mile drive.

For larger groups, Treetops can potentially be rented jointly with our property Honey Bear Chalet (150 ft away) - vrbo.com/1202547.

Chalet stay

The space was just perfect for our family. The large couch in the family room allowed us all to sit together for story time. The dining room table was large, and the island was a great spot for breakfast or snacks. My brother and sister in law stayed upstairs wth the kids and we had the bottom bedroom. You could hear them walking upstairs, but a sound machine drowned out most of the extra noise. The king beds were both comfy. The queen was in the softer side, but the kiddos had that one. The arcade system was so much fun for littles and adults too. The house was well stocked with what we needed. We used the dishwasher daily with kiddos. The hottub was lovely on a cold evening after hiking for the adults, and the older littles loved it too. The driveway was really steep, so it was easier to back into that way you can drive out of the driveway. We did not spot any bears, but we felt safe with the locked gates. The gates kept the kiddos and our dog on the porch.

Cozy cabin in the Smokey Mountains

This is cabin and it’s location were exactly what we were looking for. The cleanliness, layout and hot tub was just what my family and I needed for our Spring Break getaway after an 8 drive from Michigan. This cabin has everything you would need as far as comforts from. Cabin is nestled in a very quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors/out of town guests. Close to Dollywood, Welcome Center, Hiking, downtown Gatlinburg, etc.We had great pizza and salad delivery from Ski Mountain Pizza. They estimated a 40 minute delivery and showed up in 25 minutes which was perfect as we were starving and did not feel like getting back in the vehicle.Alan was very responsive when our code to the door didn’t work for us. It was nice to have a large screen tv and an ability to stream using our home logins for Netflix and YouTube TV via Alexa. We had to get used to the narrow, winding, incline of the pathways leading up to the cabin, but with some practice and patience, we were able to safely navigate the area in our GMC Sierra truck. We would recommend this cabin to any family wanting an enjoyable stay in Gatlinburg. It’s perfectly located. Thanks Treetops! We had a great stay!!

Great House

My family spent a week here to visit Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the National Park. This is a good location for all of those, although the mountain roads and driveway were a bit of a struggle for our minivan, it all worked out. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a nice feature that we used several times. We utilized the full kitchen daily as well. A few more staple food items in the kitchen would be a nice touch. We bought most of our food on the way in to town at Costco, but had to run out to a grocery store to get some additional items that we needed such as oil, butter, condiments, etc.

Nice property

Very clean and everything as expected. We were happy to be there in late winter/early spring as not so many visitors. The neighborhood was quiet. I liked being in the mountains as the local cities are touristy. The mountain driving

Perfect Weekend Getaway

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Treetops. The cabin was gorgeous and described accurately. Booking, check in, our stay and check out was seamless. The only thing I would want to tell anyone coming to stay is the driveway is steep and could give someone in a car difficulty especially if there was snow/ice on roadways. Our only regret was that we were not able to stay longer. We hope to be back to visit again in the near future. Thank you to Alan for making our stay wonderful and memorable.

Nice/rustic place

Gatlinburg has always been a great place for us to visit, there’s lots to do here. The cabin had everything you needed plus a little extra. It was very cold outside during our stay with the snow and more on the way. The fireplace was fantastic and used every evening. Host was very helpful and easy to work with thanks again…

Nice but not pet worthy

The cabin was nice but I didn’t think it was good for pets. Because the property was so steep there was no where for your pet to go potty and it was very hard to walk them. My suggestion would be to put some kind of turf in an area by the door and level it up a bit.

Wonderful Treetops

We had an amazing time at Treetops. The house suited our needs perfectly. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and met all our meal prep needs. The whole place was very clean, with comfortable beds, plenty of towels, and a delightful hot tub and fireplace. It was better than advertised and we would stay there again in a nano second! Alan took very good care of us.

Cute mountain stay

The cabin was wonderful. Great updates, clean, spacious. Came equipped with everything you’d need. Good place for a family. The driveway and route was a bit unexpected as it is very steep and many sharp corners to navigate, but it’s the mountains. ❤️

Treetops

We had a great. The pickleball courts and tennis courts were fun and only 2 miles away. The internet was a little spotty but the manager helped within minutes. The view had a tiny bit of the mountains. But between the hot tub, pickle ball courts and hiking suggestions it was a wonderful family vacation.
