"I stayed at Zoka’s place for a few nights while in Whitby. While to location was a bit of a walking distance to the downtown area (20 minutes or so), by vehicle it was only about 5min. The area was very quiet. The apartment is in the basement and had all the features on would need for a great stay. Zoka lived upstairs with her family and was barely noticeable. Overall, I would stay at Zokas place again and would recommend it to others who are looking for a quiet place to stay".

I loved the place and the owner what a character.. fun gracious and very friendly.. place was attached to the home but was very private too.. clean cosy and comfortable. everything you needed was there .. including wine.and.chocolate, and im sure if it wasnt Zoka would get it for you.. would definately book again if in the area.

Great little place to stay on your trip. Very nice and clean, host was amazing. She left us some beer and put the golf on the tv for us before we arrived (we were on a golf trip). Everything we needed was there for us! Wonderful stay!

Beautiful, comfortable, large private suite with an amazing, caring, and considerate host. I stayed for a month and it felt like home. It's in a nice neighbourhood, close to grocery stores, restaurants, and transit. I can't recommend this property enough. I will definitely stay here again!

From the moment you walk into the Dream Catcher Retreat the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The beautiful large private suite provides everything you could wish for in a home away from home. We visited Thermëa Spa and after a lovely relaxing day we returned to the peaceful ambience of Dream Catcher Retreat. Zoka is a kind amazing host making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We will definitely return.

Great Host and Amenities

This property has a lot of personality and has a lot of great amenities like kitchen appliances, pool table and shower with jets. The owner Zoka was amazing very helpful during check in and made sure to check in with us during our stay to ensure we didn’t need anything. My uncle and I stayed for 3 nights and were very comfortable and all amenities are a short Uber ride away.

Solo spa weekend

I traveled from Chicago to visit Thermea alone for a long weekend. Turned out it was Thanksgiving in Canada and Zoka made me feel like a part of the family. The space has everything you could possibly need.

This lovely little space is like walking into your own retreat. Zoka has beautiful touches everywhere that encourage you to relax and renew. The energy is warm and relaxing. The Dream Catcher property is in a great location, it is secure, private, full of warmth, charm, and has an amazing welcoming atmosphere. Clients walk into a lovely common area greeted with an amazing charcuterie board, wine, a fridge well equipped for a day or two for the number of guests. It has a comfortable living area, a fireplace, television, a small pool table, games, books and enough unique art pieces to keep you chatting about for days. The washroom is to die for with an amazing shower and cabinets thoughtfully stocked with a generous assortment of hygiene supplies and necessities that we occasionally forget to pack. It has a lovely main bedroom with robes and slippers for those who plan to spend more than one day. Most importantly, this cozy little oasis is blessed with a beautiful and strong spiritual presence.

Zoka was an amazing host! She was quick to respond to inquiries about the property and area prior to our arrival and gave clear easy instructions on accessing the home. I booked the DCR for a girls trip with my mom and we were both pleasantly surprised by the charm of this place. Zoka also left a few drinks and treats for us to enjoy during our stay. She knows the area very well and gave wonderful suggestions for hiking trails and restaurants very close to the location. Our stay was during the big storm and Zoka was very kind to bring us candles and lemon peppermint tea to warm us up from the rain and loss of power. Her kindness and care is such a wonderful touch to this vacation destination. My mom had forgotten her pillow there and Zoka shipped it to my mom without any hesitation so her kindness continued even after our stay. This is a great choice for a place to stay in Whitby, you wont be disappointed!! There are so many activities to do in the area, making it a great vacation destination. Thank you Zoka for creating such a great affordable retreat!!

Peaceful Oasis from Home

I had book my stay for 3 days because I had a surgery. After meeting the host at her door, she was very kind and accommodating. Communicating with her is important. She will check in if you need anything periodically. I plan to book again, I had a very pleasant stay. I cannot rave enough about my experience. The host was very friendly.

This place was perfect for our anniversary celebration. Clean and tidy. Comfortable and neat.

We enjoyed the pool table, watched Netflix and have fun. We were also surprised with a bottle of wine and cheese. This place is much better than any hotel room because the decoration is well planned for a romantic night. Really enjoyable.

This was the greatest trip I have taken away from home through all my years of travelling. Zoka made the trip so stress free that we were able to enjoy our ball trip without any concerns what so ever. They were very accommodating to our ball schedule which ran overnight over the weekend. I decided to stay in one night while the my other party members went out and Zoka made us some fresh crepes with fresh fruit. Completely unexpected and very much welcomed. There is absolutely nothing that could have made this trip better. Please have no doubts about booking this property as I assure you that you won't be disappointed. One last great thing about this stay was the guest book that contained hand written notes from all the guests. All of which were very consistent to the stay I had. If you are ever in the Whitby area looking for a stress free, relaxing, comfortable place to stay, this is the place for you. Thank you Zoka and Family for the unforgettable weekend. Why they chose this property

I have a deep and true love for our home. When my husband and I first saw it, it was just a rental and in terrible shape. But the moment I stepped inside, time seemed to slow down. It felt like a movie playing in my mind—I saw our future unfold right there.
I pictured our kids, little at the time, chasing each other and laughing. Then, in the next scene, they were grown, coming home from college, filling us with pride. And finally, I saw my husband and me as grandparents, joyfully running after grandkids from one room to another. It all happened in an instant, but I felt it so deeply in my heart. When I looked into my husband’s eyes, he knew exactly what I felt. This was the one. This was our home—our family’s future.

It took us years to renovate and make this house everything we dreamed of. Every stone, sink, light fixture, and detail was chosen and placed with love. Now, it’s our dream home—a place full of laughter, good food, music, and memories.

Hosting has always been part of who I am. It brings me joy to make others feel happy and at home. So, when we decided to join the VRBO community, it felt like a natural extension of what we love to do.

What makes this property unique

The Dream Catcher Retreat (DCR)

The name Dream Catcher Retreat was inspired by a very special moment in our lives. In September 2018, my husband and I renewed our vows on our 25th wedding anniversary. The celebration was held in our backyard, and the theme was “Dream Catchers.”
Dream catchers, a symbol of unity and protection in Native American culture, were at the heart of the celebration. Dozens of handmade dream catchers adorned our backyard, swaying gently in the summer breeze and catching the sunlight. Their presence filled the space with warmth and meaning.

We believed then, as we do now, that dream catchers have the power to transform. Negative energy can pass through them, be filtered, and emerge as light, hope, and love. At the end of our celebration, each guest left with a dream catcher as a gift—a token of our gratitude, love, and protection.

This sentiment is what we carry into the Dream Catcher Retreat. Our hope is that every guest who arrives feeling worried, stressed, or overwhelmed will leave feeling renewed, recharged, and full of hope and love.
