A very relaxing stay! The home was pretty, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed fishing, shelling and snorkeling. Made several visits to "The Frozen Flip Flop" for delicious ice cream and frozen yogurt! The Island was very quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay again, thanks!
The place was clean and had everything we needed and more . We were on the water most of the time . Plenty of room and a nice back porch to sit and relax. We will return .
The house is very nice, comfortable beds and very clean.
East access to Pine Island sound via the channel.
Lots of activities ( for old folks like us) available nearby.
Boat lift in the front yard was great ,there is an issue with one of the motors that needs addressed.
Still hurricane damage on adjacent properties that detracted from this property.
It is a bit of a jaunt from the boat ramp back to the property but not too bad.
There were two coffee makers, I couldn’t get either one to work. May have been operator error, bought one at a nearby store.
Two things we didn’t like, the silverware and towels were very low quality. If we come again we will bring our own if they haven’t been upgraded.
If you like to boat / fish I’d recommend this property.

Flamingo Bay
Many light bulbs out 3 of the 4 chairs on deck you couldn’t sit it the widows were very dirty. The boat lift would not work even after resetting breakers. We understand as we we were here after Ian that things are still a little up in the air but….. We would not stay there again

Home was “adequate”
Property manager was responsive and very easy to work with. Home was located in the center of the island which was nice but the neighborhood still has a great deal of damage from the hurricane. While many residents are working to improve their sites several have just abandoned their homes. The home itself was spacious but unimpressive. The beds are old and creak with every turn and the furniture is all generally uncomfortable. Although we had a great 4 week vacation on Pine Island I would not choose to stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay in Flamingo Bay. Perfect location for boaters! Home was very clean and comfortable. Neighborhood is still rebuilding from Hurricane Ian but everyone nearby was lovely. Would stay here again.
A manufactured home amongst hurricane Ian’s damage neighborhood
I had to put the dishes in the dishwasher before I would eat from them…there was food stuck on a lot of them!

Good price for canal front
It was our first time staying on Pine Island. We knew there would be damage from the hurricane, but weren't quite prepared for what we saw. Most of the homes were destroyed around this place. So sad to see. With that being said, this place was in good shape with only a few minor issues. The place was clean except for the master bath shower, but was a quick fix after cleaning. The pillows definitely need replaced. We enjoyed the canal and going to Bokeelia and St. James. The Blue Dog restaurant was a real treat in Matlacha. I would recommend staying here. Thanks Connie and Rob!!

Our winter getaway
We had stayed on Pine Island last year so we were familiar with the area as we did travel around the island from St James City to Bokeelia. The owners should have provided more information about the damage Ian had caused not just to their neighborhood but to also the restaurants etc from Matlacha as well as to the island. We were a little nervous what we had rented when we pulled up because of the amount of devastation caused by Ian. But when we went inside we were very surprised, the home was beautiful! We enjoyed the back deck every morning with our coffee as well as utilizing the kayaks for fishing and some fishing in the canal. We also had a visitor everyday from a sand hill crane who would either come up on the deck or hang out in the yard. The only items to change is the pillows are too flat so new ones would be great, also need tongs for the grill.
This was a perfect place for our visit with family on Pine Island. Connie thoughtfully had lots of condiments, and treats in the fridge. The home was clean and inviting. Connie even made a special trip out to deliver another set of keys to the other couple staying with us. It is very comfortable and convenient to have a home away from home. Thank you!
We liked the home inside. Perfect for my husband and I. And yes, it has a nice porch to enjoy the Florida breeze and sun, but this area was hit hard by the hurricane so there are debris piles everywhere on Pine Island. While we were there, we had a couple questions for the owner, which she quickly took care of.
Connie & Rob made us feel right at home. The home was clean and spacious enough for our family of 4. Our hosts were very helpful in restoring internet services to the property which had been damaged from Hurricane Ian. They also let me promptly replace a non working coffee pot and quickly reimbursed me (thanks so much). We met some very nice neighbors on our walks. The best feature of the vacation property is the beautiful back porch overlooking the canal. It is very peaceful and relaxing. It was great to have access to the kayaks as we took them out 3 times and that was alot of fun. Thanks again Connie & Rob for making our vacation so enjoyable!
We just returned home from our week at this home. Everything was exactly as advertised. Kitchen was well stocked with all appliances and utensils you would need for cooking any meal. Smart tvs in living and master for evening relaxation.
We brought our boat and used the lift with no issues. Marked channel was minimum 3.5 ft. at low tide. Good fishing in mangroves before you get in the sound. Quick runs (20-30 minutes at 25mph) to Cayo Costa, Tarpon Bay, or Sanibel lighthouse.
Would definitely stay here again.
We have stayed at this property before, and will continue to return as long as it is available for us. The house is very clean and well furnished, the owners are very attentive to any needs and are some of the nicest people we have ever rented from. Looking forward to our future trips to this house on the island.
We loved our time on Pine Island. The home had exactly the space we needed, and was located away from the craziness and traffic of the spring break rush. The neighborhood is very friendly. I enjoyed walking in the mornings - everyone waved and said hello. The boat lift was a great addition! We rented a boat for 5 days and had a blast fishing and checking out remote beaches (again, away from all the traffic). They also had two kayaks that we took out one morning. We saw dolphins and manatees every day. Connie was a great communicator, always getting back to me quickly. Our stay here was lovely and we all hate to leave!
We loved the deck overlooking the canal, plenty of shade. Felt very safe in the neighborhood. Lots of kitchen pots, pans, spatulas, etc. for cooking. So relaxing and a very quiet neighborhood! Would definitely stay again! Connie is awesome!!
Very nice unit. The neighborhood is quiet and traffic is very low. This was nice because we like to walk for exercise, which is no problem in Flamingo Bay.
The bad part is there is no restaurant or grocery within walking distance.

The house was very clean and homey. We enjoyed the use of the gas grill on the back deck. Very convenient and easy access to the sound. The owners were very responsive to all questions and concerns. The only reason we didn't give it a 5-star is that the canal can get pretty short on water. Therefore, the boat lift wasn't really an option as you would not know if you could get it off the lift or not, depending on the tide. Climbing up and down from the wall into the boat wasn't a very good option for my 78-year old husband.
Beautiful clean home on the canal. 2 kayaks for your use. Plenty of kitchen items to get you going. Wonderful owners who answer any questions you have promptly. Connie is a great owner. Super location. Just can't say enough good things about this rental.
